We rented one of their trailers 2 weeks ago. When we picked it up it appeared adequate despite…read moreshowing it's age. The price was more or less the same as others in the rental market but definitely over priced for what you get. There aren't any extra's. We weren't expecting to hotel it but camp so we accepted it. One of the trailers beds was the table top conversion type. I had no trouble setting up the bed/table and made sure it was properly seated. Our girls used it for one night their weight being around 150 lbs combined. No problems other than that all the comfort of all the beds in the trailer had departed and it was like lying on the cold ground. The next day I sat down on the bed and whoosh...the table gave out; I have to admit I weigh 250 lbs but we weren't told that it wouldn't handle my weight. After this I looked at the table top and there was some damage on the side that fell down to the floor. However it reseated and the girls continued to use it for the next 2 nights without a problem. I did look at the top and noted that it was made of fibreboard which could have been the problem. Needless to say I stayed away from it for the duration. If I was told that it couldn't handle heavy weight I would have never sat on it. Aside from the worn condition of the trailer we also found some moulding damage and a storage door with it's frame cracked. When I returned the trailer I showed the staff member these damages. I was in a hurry and forgot to mention the table top issue. Two weeks later they called me and said that I would have to pay for a new table top. I calmly explained that it wasn't my fault for the incident. It either was due to 6 years of wear and tear or a overload or some of the both. They explained that they were billing me for about $250 to replace the table. I plead my case that I hadn't abused the trailer and that I set up the bed correctly. They didn't see it my way and as it became apparent that I wasn't going to accept this their voices worked up to a loud roar. Because it did happen on our watch I offered to pay $100 as a compromise. This also didn't appease them. I said that I wouldn't pay any more than that and that we obviously weren't going to agree and we then hung up. They said they were going to bill my MasterCard and I have put a block on any transactions from them. I'm still waiting to see how this ends. Lorne Kruse

Rented the 22ft Salem, showed up and was surprisingly told there is no awning on their units. The…read moreunit was clean and easy to pick up, though. The unit also comes with absolutely nothing, as in nothing but toilet paper. No plates, no cutlery, no pots, nothing, fyi. We went camping to Manning Park with NO hookups, so we relied solely on the unit's water/electrical working. Within minutes of turning the pump on, the rear shower knob blows a leak, losing all pressure. We had to drive to the lodge to use a phone and go without water for 1.5 days until, to their credit, they drove up and repaired it. However when I pointed out when they got up there that the battery wasn't holding a charge, I was told they checked the battery and it was charged. Well, the battery was clearly shot. Thankfully I brought a generator, however the battery would not hold a charge for more than 6 hours WITHOUT USING ANYTHING IN THE UNIT. We could not cook or use the water pump as the battery died after half hour of usage. And yes, the fridge was switched to gas, not electrical. With only limited allowable generator use time as per park regulations, this unit effectively became a tent with a fridge for $100/day. One of the propane tanks was half full as well, despite having to return the unit with full tanks or risk being charged. Combine this with the worst rain storms I've seen in 27 years at Manning and having no awning and not being able to sit inside using lights, this was the worst unit we have rented. The bed was literally springs with thin fabric over them. We actually thought they forgot to put the mattress on and left us with the box-spring. You physically cannot sleep or lay on the bed without getting bruises and springs poking your shoulders, hips, and elbows. This bed is not even used in the cheapest hotels in the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver. It is beyond comprehension why these beds are in this unit. We have owned and/or rented Okanagan, Jayco, Terry, and Outbacks and have never, ever seen or experienced such awful, painful beds. Upon returning the unit and voicing our concerns and displeasure, we were told that the battery was checked when we rented it and that it was 'strange' that it wasn't holding a charge. We were told the beds are standard and most people are 'used to sleeping on their own nice beds at home'. We were also told that the owner would call us regarding our concerns when he returned to work a few days later. This did not occur, but they have their $1100. In sum, A and H RV Rentals provide clean, easy to pick up/drop off, expensive, non-functioning units that you cannot rely on or use.
