Secondly, the service was fine (well, minus the fact I never received the requested streaming information) Mr. Queen went above and beyond! Thank you sir. Now, the issues. 1. Took over a month to receive death certificates. Save your money and order directly from the office of Vital Statistics. 2. An urn is included in the package we chose, however, an order wasn't placed at that time (even though JB Jenkins requires payment 3 days prior to the service). Fast forward another 3 weeks and I receive a call to say the urn is OUT OF STOCK (that was early October). So, wanting to be done with this ordeal and get my mother's cremains ASAP, I purchased the exact same urn from Amazon (for a lot less than what JB Jenkins is charging), received it overnight and delivered it to the funeral home the following day. 3. I requested the money I spent with Amazon to be refunded ( only $80) and was told "NO MONEY WOULD BE REFUNDED" so of course I requested a supervisor. After a conversation with I believe Ms. Chandler, she was to follow up with me. That didn't happen. I called 3 more times and finally got her on the phone again just to be told the same thing..."NO MONEY WOULD BE REFUNDED" so I stated at that time I expect to still receive the urn included in the package since it's already paid and I assume someone will contact me when it arrives. That was on October 23rd. It's now November 12th and I haven't heard anything from anyone at JB Jenkins. Had I NOT supplied my own urn...I'd STILL be waiting to bring my Mother's ashes home. UNACCEPTABLE!!! I would think this funeral home would just cut me a check for the $80 and be done with me as I'm sure they're not hurting for money but instead... I'm STILL waiting in November for an urn which was paid for in September. Maybe 7 on your Side would like to hear this story. I've been more than patient

We spoke with everyone from the numerous receptionists to Funeral Directors to the listed Office Manager. Each of these representatives assured us they would check on the challenge and get back to us. At one point, a minister called to confirm what we wanted at my sister's service that was scheduled for the upcoming Friday. To our surprise, the funeral home got our sister's remains mixed up with another deceased person. My sister was not having a service and was being cremated. The minister was very apologetic. At no point did any of the representatives (6 people) call us back after stating that they would. All communications were initiated by us. We needed communication with the funeral home even if it was to say they are still looking into our concerns. Not one of these people returned our calls.

Marche is very professional and was extremely patient with my mother and I who both were emotional going through this funeral planning experience for the first time. In the event that you ever need one I wouldn't look any further than Morris Funerals and Cremation Services. Everything was reasonably priced and lower than other funeral homes in Maryland that quite frankly to me seemed to be "milking" patrons due the surge in deaths from this killer Coronavirus. They went above and beyond considering the circumstances all while following state mandates and social distancing. Hopefully I personally won't have to visit them anytime soon but I know where to direct someone when they do.

Within two hours of the initial phone call, they were at the assisted care facility to pick up my dad. The gentleman who arrived was dressed in a suit, was very professional and caring, and walked me through all of the paperwork. From the beginning it was a horror story, they lost my paperwork for a pre-planned cremation. I was power of attorney and was able to fill out and email it to them. I told them when it was emailed and to whom it was emailed. They claimed that they can only see the email for 24 hours and only the supervisor can access them after that. The supervisor was useless and my partially blind brother had to get his part of the paperwork filled out at the doctor's office and faxed to their office. Then they did not post my mother's obituary for at least a week. It took several emails and phone calls to figure out what kind of format it needed to be in. The only thing I thought went well was picking up the ashes and prayer cards. They did not ask me to check the prayer cards. Why would I need to? They have all the information from the death certificate. I never even looked at them. Somebody at my mom's service saw that it had the wrong birthdate. Nobody took them after that. I guess they figured I would return them and get new ones printed. I had planned on doing just that. Until I was told that for their mistake, I would have to pay an additional 10.00. Imagine that! They found the paperwork. They told me it looked like the date they printed. I asked a non-partial person to read the date back to me and she gave me the correct date. The supervisor of the Millersville location who would not give me her name told me I used their service because of the price, and I have not complained so far (goes to show how much she pays attention) and that paying an additional 10.00 to get partial cards should not be an inconvenience. At that point, I told her I have not been happy with the service, and the price was not the best I could have gotten. (I found out later that someone from my HS could have given me a much better price.) Then she told me if I was so unhappy I could have had another company pick up the body and move it to another location. Believe me, if I knew that was an option, I would have done it in a heartbeat. I thought I was stuck.

Remember "You" are in charge of your deceased family member not the funeral home. It's totally unnecessary to rip off family members handling the arrangements for an additional 1,000.00 pocket money for the funeral home to handle your loved ones after prearrangements has already been made and "paid for". Also if the removal person shows up to your residence to remove your loved one dressed inappropriately with a hoodie on and casual baggy pants like he's going to a ball game "as a representative of the funeral home" send him away call the funeral Home or another funeral home and "demand" someone that will respect your home and your family that will show up dressed appropriately with at least dress slacks and a decent shirt casual or dress shoes and don't accept them requesting your help to remove your loved one from your residence they should come prepared with two people remember you're paying for this proper service and you tell the funeral home what time to come to your residence to pick up your loved one if you're waiting for other family members to come to your home before your love one is removed from your residence generally they come automatically within 90 minutes but if you need more time let them know when you call to notify them of the passing of your loved one. .

As can be expected, I was extremely upset from my mom's sudden passing...didn't really know what to ask for. This was my first time having to make such difficult arrangements. The woman that answered my call that night spoke to me very manifactly and never offered her condolences. I actually spoke to her twice. During the second call, I lost it!! While telling me the steps, costs and how everything will go she said, and I quote "When your mother gets here, we'll put her in the freezer"...I busted out crying and yelled "You're talking about my mother like she's a piece of meat". At which point I feel she realized she did something terribly wrong! She apologized and rephrased by saying "Once your mother comes into our care". I couldn't believe my ears. I felt like I had been stabbed by a knife in my chest. The next day my siblings and I went to say our final goodbyes to our mother. I spoke to the director, Bill about the phone call with his staff member. Once I was done, he also spoke very matter-of-factly, he did not apologize for that person's interaction, behavior, words. He said to me "Okay, we'll look into it". He also did not offer any condolences to us. I pray no other family has such a bad experience there. The only detail that was disappointing was having a female staff member standing under the canopy at the cemetery. Only six people could sit, due to safe distancing. She should have moved so I could have stood under the canopy. She saw that I was recording the service. I didn't ask her to move since I didn't want that heard on the video or to cause a distraction. The man who met us at the funeral home also drove the hearse and instructed how to follow him. He was kind and gave us privacy before we left the building. The funeral home covers tickets if you drive through a red light en route to the cemetery (it only works that day). The casket was beautiful. They even gave my friend a manicure. When you are grieving, those special touches matter. The flowers were carefully handled. Due to covid, most people only attended the grave side service.
