I'd be lying if I didn't admit I chose this inspector because it reminds me of The Simpsons... "Hi…read moreeverybody! Hi Dr. Nick!!" Our realtor gave us a few recommendations and they had the best Yelp reviews so we went with them. Glad we did! Nate does a nice job talking you through everything in the inspection process, and you can tell he knows about customer service. Sometimes the inspectors can be a little gruff, or maybe too direct. Nate's so personable and honest, it's a refreshing change of pace. They are also very thorough and cover top to bottom. This inspection ran us a bit more than one in the past, but that's because we added chimney and sewer specialists to it, so all in all it worked out to be about average in cost. Apparently they're very responsive as well, which is good because I have a few questions after digging into some details. Assuming the best and rounding up here based on prior communications. I'd recommend them and will with for them again down the road.

Instead we found after moving in that between the joists the roof sagged. The jets did not work in the master bathroom and there is no hot water coming out of the faucet on the tub. I contacted him about the roof and he took no responsibility. Rather he made excuses and taking no responsibility for his oversight.

Richard knows all the ins and outs of a home, he allows the buyer whether its their first or fortieth home to be as involved in the process as they want, while pointing out tips along the way, he is always available to answer questions about the home and report after the fact, and the detailed inspection report is provided within 24 hours of the inspection, he also is able to coordinate Radon, Termite, and Sewer with other vendors. One instance Richard had performed a home inspection for a buyer of mine, later that evening he was in a snowy storm and was involved in an accident taking him and his car off the road, he lost some of his items, and his truck was pretty banged up, thankfully he was ok, craziest part is I still had the client inspection report that night. Richard Scroggins is both Precise and Nice. Thanks for all the years of service!

We used Metro Property Inspection before purchasing our house and have now found 3 glaring plumbing…read moreissues. These were not documented in the report and never mentioned during the inspection. These issues are so bad that we've had multiple plumbers come out this week and each one is shocked that an inspector didn't catch them. In 3 separate locations we have a small drain pipe from a sink sitting loosely in a larger pipe with no connector or seal. We've had sewer gas coming into the house since the pipes are not properly sealed and water damage that runs down to the basement. After discovering these issues, I consulted their reviews page and found many negative reviews describing major issues missed during inspections. I decided to give Metro a chance to resolve the issue since they commented on some reviews offering to do just that. After describing the issues in detail to the receptionist, I received a callback from the owner who told me he knew nothing about the situation but was calling to answer my " questions about the inspection ". He then proceeded to argue with me the entire call. His main point was that I should have known that when the inspector mentioned replacing one very specific part of the plumbing, that actually meant the entire system. Further, he talked down to me from the beginning but his tone seemed to change once he heard my boyfriend in the background. I can only assume he felt a woman would be easier to belittle. Attached are photos of the plumbing issues that the inspector missed. Do not use this company, you will pay for not only the mediocre inspection but also the issues they miss.
