I booked these guys after having a horrible experience with the new "LAXit" lot. I wasn't aware that uber/lyft no longer allows curbside pickup. You have to wait for the LAX bus to shuttle you to the rideshare lot. My family stood there for over an hour waiting for the bus to take us to the lot to reach my Uber. Never again!! Went home and found these guys. They are able to pick you up DIRECTLY at arrivals as long as you have a reservation. Time saver & saves me from getting an 'earful' from my wife. What a delight to work with. Advantage Ground Transportation is very organized and follows through with what they say they will do. They called me the day before we left for vacation to confirm our plans and then sent a text with after hours phone number, the name of our driver, the type of car, and the drivers cell number. Eli, our driver, was wonderful! He showed up about 10 minutes early, helped with our luggage, was very polite. He drove well. The Lincoln MKT was very clean and comfortable. He wore a mask. I felt extremely safe. On our way home we had the same awesome service. When they called I couldn't remember when our flight was suppose to land. They said not to worry, they would check. For a while it looked like we might arrive early, but I wasn't the least bit concerned. I was very confident that Advantage Ground Transportation would be checking our flight and be on time. When we arrived at John Wayne, we collected our luggage and proceeded to an outside numbered pillar to call Eli, but he was right there waiting for us. He again helped with our bags and we had an enjoyable and safe ride home. The price we paid was comparable or better than other companies and included the tip! No fuss to remember cash. Advantage is my go-to company for LAX transportation from So. OC. I've used them for over 10 years for both domestic and international flights. They are always on time, the drivers are courteous and reservations are easy to make online. I always get a confirmation prior to the pick-up day along with an email. Anytime I've had a question the dispatchers have been happy to answer them. Their prices are better than other point to point services and competitive with the multi-stop services. I normally use the call for pickup option. I call them once I clear customs and immigration and they are there in 15 minutes or less. Once in 10 years I had to make multiple calls to dispatch to have the driver come pick me up, and I've used them at least 20 times or more so over the years. read more

There's something to be said about drivers who drive as a profession and won't get lost or miss their exit by following an electronic uber map. Uber was cool for a minute, but I've switched back to and haven't looked back. I've been pleased with the service in the past, but given that my company is paying them $200+ roundtrip to drop me off at lax (approx 20-25 miles), I'd expect as such. My gripe with this company are as follows: 1. At least 3 of 5 times, they've arrived an HOUR earlier than the reservation time. There is such a thing as being too early, especially when you have a 7am flight on a Sunday. They've literally woken me up from my sleep, and I seriously didn't see the point of leaving that much earlier on a traffic free Sunday. I ended up waiting at the airport 2 hours at the damned gate for a domestic flight because of them. Make sure that you tell them to wait outside and not ring the bell for your reservations. 2. I waited 30 minutes once at lax (on a non-busy 10pm weekend) for my pickup. I don't know where the hell he was but I expected prompt service for the amount paid. He didn't even know where I lived and relied on me to give him turn by turn directions. I would not have paid tip for that type of service in which my company automatically tacks on. If you run a small business and work with this company, beware of this as a way for them to make that extra guaranteed tips. 3. Poor customer service on weekends. I don't know who it is, but the lady on the line that answers calls is always incredibly rude. This time was the last straw for me. I had a really rough day - I missed my flight at the last minute which has never happened to me in my life. I was literally running to my gate in which they referred me to take another flight... The caveat is, I have to be there within 3 minutes and it's across the terminal (a 10 minute walk). So I ran, drenched in sweat, and didn't make it. But by some grace of God, the customer service was able to get me in still after the gates had closed. I ran in, got to my seat, and we were taking off - cell phones off. Obviously, I didn't get the chance to call Advantage and ask for a reschedule of my original reservation given the new flight. I figured I'd just cancel if they can't and pay any incurred charges as necessary. I arrive and immediately call about my reservation to see the next course of action and I get CHASTISED for not letting then know earlier about my flight change. She sounded really defensive and repetitively said that I should have told them about the change - "You should have told us if you're going to be changing flights. WHY didn't you tell us? YOU need to be calling us." Seriously?? People don't change flights? Accidents don't happen? I thought I was talking to my over-emotional and unreasonable mother. For the record, I never demanded anything in my call - it was meant to inquire on my options. They didn't have any drivers available as I had expected but I was just really surprised by the demeaning customer service. There was not once that I got mad at them for not being able to provide another driver, knowing that it was a last minute change. We hang up, and deciding after picking up my luggage whether to cab it home or have a friend pick me up, I called in again to ask a simple question if the cancellation was still being charged. I honestly don't care if it were because it would be something I assume my Company has negotiated with them. But if they do, I wouldn't be able to get reimbursed for a cab ride home, so I needed to know for practical purposes. So you can tell, it was meant to be a simple inquiry, in which I received the repeated response "I'm not at liberty to give you an answer," in a condescending tone. She kept cutting me off and repeated that it depended on the manager's review of her report on what happened. Isn't there a company cancellation policy on such things? I was shocked that my Fortune 100 Company was using such unprofessional services. If they had a policy, they need to train their staff so they know. If they don't, then they should get one or they'd be subject to lawsuits. Anyway, I didn't mind the response as much as the tone and another chance for her to chastise me in changing my flights without notice. She in no way was helpful to my situation and insisted that I was at fault for changing my reservation at the last moment. I truly don't care and never cared / asked whose fault it was, and never implied that Advantage was at fault in any way. This lady had some serious insecurity issues, and this company needs to retrain its staff in customer service 101. It's ridiculous to blame the customer, repetitively at that. This company needs a serious reality check. Because of the poor experiences I've had and particularly the rude customer service being the last straw, I'm going to avoid using this company as an option. My company uses this, the super shuttle, or the cab, as options for transport and I'll for sure be using the cab from now on. read more
