Sure, for 23 years it was only for biannual cleanings (and then that whole orthodontia thing), but then came a few fillings. Finally, as of very recently, the need for a root canal and a crown arose (cue: horrified face!) [Refer to my review on Advanced Endodontic Care to read about the root canal] After being disgusted at the, ahem, "customer service" at Heppner's one and only dental office - the people who referred me for my root canal - I took matters into my own hands and, 2 hours after the root canal, contacted Henager Black to see if they would so kindly work with me to place a crown, even though they weren't the referring office for the root canal. The short and polite answer was a resounding "YES!" So, I requested Advanced Endodontic Care send Henager Black all of the necessary paperwork and X-rays from my procedure. Then, ONLY 48 HOURS after my root canal, I was getting prepped for a crown! Eight days after that, the crown was placed and it fit like a glove! Dr. Black and Cari are the two I was so lucky to work with during these appointments, and they now are my go-to ladies! And (full disclosure) I am so, so sorry that I went to the local dentist to "save travel time." Nothing is worse than bad customer service -- and, on the flip side, nothing is better than AWESOME customer service, thus why the drive from NE Oregon into TriCities is not a big deal with Henager Black. I sorely learned from my mistake! Part 2 Prior to my personal experience with Henager Black, my partner got several thousand dollars' worth of custom, restorative, and cosmetic work done to his teeth at the beginning of 2016. He worked with Dr. Henager predominantly, along with several technicians, and like me he was over-the-top impressed with the friendly staff [from the front desk on up], superior workmanship, along with the outstanding quality of care. With their very own lab right downstairs, this is THE PLACE to get any sort of dental work done-- you don't have to stop at basic cleanings. The amazing lab staff can make just about anything (TRUST ME!) Bring your ideas and bring your questions, because Dr. Henager and Dr. Black are at the top of their game. All of the staff they have on board are the best of the best, and you will be in good hands! The dental industry would be so very different if every dentist took pride in their business and their work like these two do. After 3+ months of healing, they sent me to a regular dentist for the teeth to be inserted at an additional cost that more than doubled my total!! Plus that dentist told me that the implants were in the wrong place. I had to go through the entire process again--3 to 4 more months. Because the repair was at "no charge" I decided to have it done with them. The surgeon never checked to make sure the top aligned with the bottom. It's been several years and I'm still having jaw problems. My smile is lopsided. All future dental work has to accommodate his mistake. And I tell EVERYONE what happened. I have never paid more than $60 for nitrous during a cleaning. They had a somewhat new hygienist that took 1.5 hours to clean my teeth (which are in good shape...normally takes about 45 minutes...no extras were needed such as xrays, etc). When I checked out, I was told there was no charge for my cleaning (insurance covered), but handed me a bill for $180 for nitrous! I was flabbergasted. I have shopped around and most dentists have a flat rate from $39 to $60. I wIll be finding a new dentist!

For whatever…read morereason the past few years it's been really hard for me to get an appointment with him specifically. Because I really needed an appointment, I agreed to see Dr. Rhoten. Dr. Rhoten is fine for regular dental business, but I would advise against using him for a occlusal guard. I had regular jaw pain before, but I was in life altering chronic pain for months while trying out the guard and getting adjustments. Even though I shelled out hundreds on the piece I had to start using my old retainer piece just to function. He's a fine person and regular Dr., but please use caution in regard to jaw issues. This experience was very upsetting and I will not be returning because of it.

I usually just fall asleep. The hygenist that I get rotates, so I don't have much to say there other than everyone I've seen has been good. I usually see Dr. Han, who I'm definitely a fan of. The dude plays practical jokes on the other staff members (which can make your appointment more entertaining than you were expecting it to be). I've been through a root canal with them, and I think they were pretty good about it, though I don't have any other experience to compare it with. It took 4 hours (Dr. Han's record), and it wasn't awful. They're also willing to work the system for you, so that's pretty sweet.
