I STILL HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO TAKE MY CAR IN FOR DAMAGE REPAIR SINCE I HAVE NOT HEARD A WORD AND A. CANNOT AFFORD TO PAY FOR A DAMAGE CAUSED BY TAKING MY VEHICLE TO THIS BUSINESS FOR SERVICE AND B. EVERYTIME I TAKE MY CAR IN FOR OTHER SERVICES I SEE MORE DAMAGE OCCURRED FROM THIS Original review posted - I took my car in on October 23, 2025 for an unknown issue - they advised it was the engine mount. I did not question the diagnosis at the time nor the subsequent damage that came to my attention. However, due to the chaotic nature of my life, I did not notice the passenger side of my bumper had become dislodged until my mother pointed it out. As I work from home and keep my car garaged, I have limited opportunity to inspect it regularly, as I typically only run errands one day a week and am home otherwise. After discussing the issue with my son, who works at a body shop, he discovered that several clips on the bumper were broken, which is likely why it had popped out. Upon further inspection, he found that the bumper was completely detached at the bottom, with all clips broken. I took several weeks to address this with them, but I was met with immediate denial of responsibility. Despite having multiple staff members examine the vehicle, I observed one employee moving my car and jumping over a curb, which raises concerns about the handling of my vehicle during service. I was informed that a tumbleweed was removed from the bottom of the car and that there was a scratch on the other side of the bumper, leading to the conclusion that the damage could not have occurred while in their care. This explanation raises several questions for me. If someone had indeed hit my vehicle, I would expect visible damage on the front of the bumper, rather than just the bottom being detached. So what some random person removed my car from the garage and took it on a joy ride and and returned unknown. We are now at the estimate cost of $1,222. to get it fixed; unknowingly of what else could be damaged behind the bumper! ZERO STARS!

Ben proceeded to call me later that afternoon stating that he could not find my keys. After multiple calls I decided to have a locksmith come open the vehicle to check for keys, no luck! Knowing the area this shop is located, I could not leave my vehicle in the street so I had to have a tow truck come deliver it to my house.Ben denied ever having the keys, but 2 days later he said he found them. Ben would not pay for the locksmith or tow because I did not leave my vehicle with him to be worked on. Can't trust a guy like that who won't take responsibility for his mistake. Do not bring your vehicle here. Update after business's reply: This comment should show potential customers that this man has poor customer service and quite frankly, a lack of character. Why would I let you drag my vehicle with a uhaul trailer, that I brought in for a locked center differential? So you can then scam me for a transmission or some other issue that was not present before. I'm not going to give you my business if you can't retain simple possession of the keys. If you were unaware sir, vehicles are also broken into and stolen in our city all of the time. Your failure to pull my vehicle into your yard before your errand also shows that you have poor business practices and a lack of concern for customer's property. Mistakes happen, but denial of accountability privately, then attempting to maintain a good appearance publicly is just sad. A simple apology instead of being upset that I'm taking my business elsewhere would have sufficed. Reimbursement for the issue the you caused would have been better but you wanted to get ugly, so this review is for everyone to see, that is on you, sir.

At first he gave a low estimate, but after he received the used transmission, he realized that it would take a little time, but he adjusted the bill. It was a little more than I thought it would be but it was worth it. There was also a problem with my left front wheel bearing, but he only charged me for the part. Right now it's as good as new. I want to thank Ben for everything. Also, I got the transmission from an online account that went thru Swizz.com. The guys were Eric and Ken that got in touch with me from carspartus@gmail.com. My payment went to Fenix Parts. It worked out very well and I am pleased with the transmission. I had to pay for a 5 year parts and labor warranty, but it is worth every penny.

This review is a bit late and I apologize to AAMCO for this…read more In January 2019, I got an oil change at a local car dealership. Two days later, my car sprung a leak that I thought was transmission fluid. The car dealership confirmed this and said that my freeze plugs were leaking. Replacing them was going to take 15 hours of labor and cost me over $3400.00. I gave them permission to fix my car. I had issues with this "repair" over the next year and had to take my car back to them 3 times. Well, exactly a year later, my transmission started slipping. I took my car back to the dealership and they told me that this had nothing to do with the work they did and told me to take my car to a transmission shop. My brother recommended AAMCO. I had my car towed to their business. After they evaluated my car, they asked me to go to their office as they found something that they had to show me to explain as I didn't know much about cars. When I got there, they asked me about the work that had been done to my car by the dealership. I told them what repairs had been done and substantiated these claims with my receipts. It turned out that the dealership had BROKEN OFF the parts of my engine where the dowel pins go. Yes, they broke metal off, THICK METAL! They had done other repairs, at no charge to me, to cover this up. AAMCO would not put my rebuilt transmission back into this damaged engine. I contacted the dealership and of course they denied that they damaged my engine. They went from being nice to being rude so fast. I thought I had to litigate this. I asked AAMCO to call the dealership on my behalf, which they were willing to do. After they contacted the dealership, the dealership sent 2 of their mechanics to photograph the damage. The dealership finally owned up to their subpar work and replaced my engine, free of charge. They also refunded what I had paid for my transmission to be repaired. AAMCO would not allow them to replace the transmission, so the dealership had to tow my car back to AAMCO. AAMCO wanted to double check the engine replacement prior to putting my transmission back in. This could have ended very badly for me and AAMCO was instrumental in the positive outcome of this saga. I am forever grateful for their honesty and support. As a woman, it's hard to find/trust a vehicle repair business and it's awesome to know that there are great, honest auto shops still around. They have earned my trust and they have a lifelong customer in me. Their staff have always been very courteous and accommodating. Thank you to all the staff at AAMCO for going above and beyond for me!
