Both of my dogs are long gone now, but I realized that I had forgotten to leave a review for this…read moreplace. They are great. We would always book an extra large suite with patio access allowing the dogs to go in and out of a doggie door all day long and they had plenty of room within the suite and would have some yard/playtime, depending on their temperament. Every suite door has a paper with all the details about your animal and any special dietary restrictions or temperament issues so anybody dealing with your dog knows what's up before they even approach them. Our dogs were always happy when we picked them up.

And a place that can handle all his medications. After several failures, I was referred to this location through Shelton's adoption center, One Tail At A Time. He has never been so calm and chill, leaving boarding, too bad I missed a video opp! Typically he is all ball of anxiety, this is also the first time he's gone straight to sleep after arriving home!! Checking in, the staff said, "if you don't hear from us, that is a good thing." I was a bit skeptical, but that was a true statement! They called when something was right with his poop when there was extra medication in his bag and to inquire about his toys. I appreciated the ongoing communication, and judging by the report card, he loved the team. I was side-eying the $88 a day (with a private patio), but it is worth the price (esp if your pet is non-animal friendly). The basic suites are spacious for a short stay.

After the first incident here I should have known better and this place should really be…read morereported. My dog got kennel cough after a routine visit here. When I called to tell them, the woman was extremely rude and said "no your dog didn't get kennel cough from here."My dog was older at the time and had never been boarded her entire life and never went anywhere besides our house. It was awful to see my senior dog struggle with kennel cough for days all through the night. The next several incidents regarding my other dog's surgery here were horrific. My other dog had surgery here for her torn ACL.She was initially doing fine after surgery until about a day later when trying to go to the bathroom outside, she let out an extremely loud yelp of pain and immediately stopped putting any weight on her leg.I brought her into the vet insisting something was wrong but I was dismissed without even a thorough exam, charged for the visit and sent home. After several more days of her not putting weight on this leg,I brought her back again at which point they did X-rays and discovered her leg was broken at a point of placement for the ACL device. My dog had been dealing with the pain of healing surgery AND a broken leg for over a week at this point. Her leg was then immobilized in a full cast and we were charged another several hundred dollars and sent home. It doesn't even end here. After about a week in the cast, I noticed a horrible smell coming from her leg.At this point I didn't want to bring her back to this vet but felt they already knew what was going on and having everything sent to a new vet to start over would be a hassle.I brought her in again where the vet insisted the smell was because her cast got wet outside. They brought her into the back, away from me, to change her cast.Charged a lot of money again and sent home.At this point I'm thousands of dollars into this. After going home, the smell continued and became unbearable. I knew something was wrong. I ended up tearing off her cast myself only to reveal the skin on her knee was extremely infected, oozing, with black, dead, rotting skin. I was enraged.Since they just changed her cast, they obviously knew about this and did not tell me, did not treat it, nothing but add an extra piece of gauze there and wrapped it back up, charging me hundreds at every visit. I called the vet irate at this point demanding they transfer all her records to a different vet. Same rude woman at the vet said she was going to charge me to transfer her records. They had put me and my dog through hell this entire process and she had the audacity to say she was going to charge me to transfer her records?! I then spoke to the vet who was equally rude and she said they did not know of my dog's infection however I found out not only did they know about it, but there were photos of it in her file! Even though I paid to have her file transferred since I said at this point I will do whatever to never bring her there again, they transferred nothing. I drove to the vet and told them to give me my dogs paperwork immediately and I wasn't leaving without it. The still ever so charming woman at the front desk went to get Dr. Dahl. She was immediately confrontational and not wanting to give me the paperwork. They had mistreated my dog, knew about this infection that was literally eating away at her skin and intentionally did not tell me,ignored us when my dogs leg was broken, and had charged us thousands of dollars, including the money to transfer her file and never did.I was not leaving without her file. They finally gave me the paperwork and I left. After this long story,my dog was FINALLY treated with proper care at another vet, given proper antibiotics for her infection which NEVER would have happened if not for the horrible care, lack of knowledge and moral standards of the veterinarians at Southwest. Looking back,I wish I had reported them but my main focus was getting my dog better. There are other very respected vets nearby where your pet will receive proper care.Your response is not an excuse and equally unprofessional.Your team intentionally lied and kept a literal flesh eating bacterial infection under her cast from me, all the while you had pictures of this wound in her file. Not sending her records after I paid for it and trying to refuse giving them to me in person.I noticed none of this was mentioned in your response and I don't blame you for that.In addition, not a single one of my dogs has EVER gotten kennel cough except that one right after a visit to your office.Making excuses and calling me a liar is a bad look rather than taking accountability.I did not even blame the surgery itself as I have heard of this happening in a small amount of cases. It was the neglect and flat out lying as my dog's condition worsened after the surgery that was the biggest problem. If I can help another pet parent avoid a similar horrific ordeal we went through at your practice,I'm going to leave this review here.

I have a very special little dog who…read moreneeds a lot of training and attention to help overcome her behavioral challenges and they not only understood what to do immediately, we've been making steady progress since we first met everyone. The convenient Wheaton location of the facility is great for daycare and they also allow for half-day daycare too. Very flexible scheduling. When I pick my dog up, I can tell that she's received personalized attention from the staff and that she has been well cared for. Often she's been able to work one-on-one with a staff member for nearly all of her half-day session. We also attend the group classes which are incredibly unique and let my dog build up practice interacting with other dogs in a way that reinforce new, good behaviors. My neighbors are thrilled with the progress almost as much as I am - my dog no longer automatically barks at everyone outside now and is able to make new friends. The in home training we did originally was incredibly valuable to get us started on the right foot. We need to do that again very soon! Is it the least expensive daycare and/or training in the area? No. But it is ABSOLUTELY worth it. When I leave my dog in the care of The Canine's Voice I know that she's going to be safe, loved, and will learn a few things while she's there. The classes are incredibly valuable too. The results speak for themselves.

She had plenty of tips and techniques and it was nice having her visit the home for the sessions to see how he is in that environment.
