I've been to Advanced Wheel Repair 3 times (2 times during COVID) and most recently in August 2026. They don't disappoint! The first time, they explained that they needed to send one of my wheels to their 'shop' location because it required machinery to fix it; the turnaround was one day. The other two times, they turned it around in about 2 hours at the 5th Street location. They're worth the $125 cash per wheel (no machinery) if you want a fast turnaround and quality work. read more

Came in to get the significant roadrash removed from my Model Y, 20" Induction wheels, I was honestly SHOCKED at how good a job they did, like, the rims looked brand new, im still stunned about it, and it was super fast, I hung around for an hour and it was done. Worth every cash-only dollar! I only had after photos, but the wheels were badly messed up beforehand, all the edges scratched up. read more

Ph*ck. Sh*t. Oppsie! Not the words you want to hear because you know something went down. Someone was driving my car and hit the center divider while making a u-turn which caused some deep curb rash on my front rim. TBH, if it wasn't so bad, I would have took a sharpie to it. But, it was an eye sore the more I kept looking at it. Found Advanced Wheel Repair on yelp, one of two shops in the city (that I could find) specializing in curb rash repairs. I also contacted a business in San Jo. They offered the most competitive rate ($50 less than others). $125 and 20 minutes later, my rim is like new. Thanks, Sunny! Cash or Zelle only. And, you may even get to see the cute shop dog! ;) O T H E R I N F O: * Hours listed on Yelp are wrong. They're open 10 am - 3 pm. * No appointment necessary. I waited 5 minutes to be seen during weekday lunchtime. * It's a tiny shop with a hella narrow driveway so you may need to double park on 5th and wait until they can take you in. * They advise to not touch your rim or wash your car for 2 days until the paint fully dries. * Comfy coaches, aquariums, and complimentary bottled water in the waiting room. read more

Good service as I had to get some rims fixed. They were able to finish the work and got my car rims looking better now.

Hard to find shop but the work that is done by the techs is amazing. Definitely will use them again !

Went to Tahoe and had to put chains on my rear wheels. They left awful scratches all over the rims. In just 30min at the shop I had wheels in better condition than they were before the chains. Highly recommend, very knowledgeable, high quality and great price! read more

Took less then 15 mins. In and out. This is my third time coming here and they always do an amazing job. I really banged my rim up on this run but as you can tell From the after pic, it looks as if nothing ever happened. I recommend this place 1000000% and for only $125. Had them fix some curb rash on my AMG forged rims. You can barely see where they were repaired.

Sunny & his crew are magicians. I brought my car with its two chewed up rims (bad case of curb rash) to their garage without an appointment Friday morning. Half an hour later they had both rims looking brand spanking new. All the evidence of my bad driving and inability to dodge the curbs and bulb-outs of San Francisco were erased, thanks to their craftsmanship. The price was quite reasonable too. The place is cash-only, so make sure you have some in your wallet before heading over. Highly recommended if your rims need some TLC. read more

Seems to be permanently closed. I went there yesterday to show them the curb rash damage to one wheel. They said no problem, takes 20-30 minutes, no appointment, $125 cash only. Great, told them I'll be back today. Got there at 2:30, the roll up gate was down, the windows were boarded up, and all signage was gone. Oh well. read more

Very happy with these guys! Quality repair to fix curb rash on my Maserati GranTurmiso Sport rear wheel. Great service and reasonable price. Yes I recommend and I'll be back...since SF has terrible pot holes. Update: 3/18/22 Had these guys work on my other car wheel. Great job! read more

Awesome job and highly recommend them. It's $125 per tire which is reasonable considering I wouldn't even know how to repair myself!! Waited about an hour after getting there right at 9:30am. Professional, very detailed. He explained he can touch up for $125 a tire and I can wait for it, or $250 a tire to factory restore it (needs an overnight stay). Touch up was perfect. read more

Accidentally curb your nice wheel on your ride? Scuffed it because the curb was too high? Maybe your spouse took out the car and didn't notice how close they were to the sidewalk? Sunny & his team provides excellent services getting this fixed up. Very happy with the results, like it never happened at all. Extremely impress at his craftsmanship. Swing by the shop in the morning, went to get coffee nearby and was done about an hour later as I was walking back to the shop. Definitely will recommend Sunny to anyone I know who needs their wheels repaired. read more

Thanks to Sunny at Advanced Wheel Repair for the quick repairs (20 mins) to my 2 wheels (curb rash). He explained the pricing in advance and he did tell me that the repairs won't be 100% OEM but 80% - 90%. I was totally fine with that and because of my stupidly of hitting a curb at a hotel parking garage. I wanted to get the wheels done ASAP . The business hours on Yelp are incorrect and due to the pandemic, they open at 10AM and not 9AM as I learned the hard way. Payment was cash only. I highly recommend Advanced Wheel Repair! read more

They performed repairs on time, and of quite good quality. I had my rims refinished and it looks almost brand new.

I Scraped up my new front rim pretty good. These guys were able to do a touch up on it why while I waited and although I'm no expert I really can't tell the difference. Nice guys quick service. Easy to find. All good. They are cash only but there is an ATM a couple blocks away. read more

Brought my brand new Model Y in after I scraped a wheel on a curb. They grinded it down and repainted in 15-20 minutes (they call this the touch up service) and I was out of there with it looking brand new. I can't tell the difference at all. They also offer a "full service" but it takes longer because they grind the whole wheel down. Only necessary if the wheel is badly damaged. Highly recommend Advanced Wheel Repair. Go in the morning when they open if you can. First come, first serve. read more

I am new to the city and as you might imagine, not used to driving here. And as you would know it: I scraped my rim on a curb in my shiny little convertible. I took my car to Advanced Wheel Repair, and they blew all my expectations out of the water. Not only did they repair my rim beautifully (it looks as good as new), but the repaired it quickly, the pricing was competitive... AND to top it all off they put a loaner tire on my car so I was not put out by the work. I would highly recommend them, and though I hope to never need their services, I will use them again if I have a scrape. read more

A bunch of young kids, not professional, expensive. Bad work done on my expensive wheel. (worse after work done). Looking for wheel jobs. go to WheelAmerica in Hayward instead. They are professional and was referred by a reputable wheel company. read more

I regret having to write such a negative review but I had a really bad experience which I need to share. I dropped off one of my summer tires for my Porsche Cayenne which is *slightly* scuffed for repair. I dropped off the wheel and the young man who helped me said they would call when the wheel is done. Two weeks passed and no response. I called and the young man told me "oh yea that Porsche wheel? You have to pick it up. We don't have the right paint to match." I picked up the wheel which I keep in a storage case. I took it home and opened it to clean. I noticed that they had started stripping the wheel and stopped middle job. The wheel is now sanded down on nearly the entire face of the rim and also on the backside of the wheel. The tire is also flat caused by a small pin hole on the inside of the tire side wall where a lot of the damage is visible. Since the damage is on the side of the tire it must be replaced. I've ordered a new tire which costs $400. And now I am going to have to likely order a new wheel which costs $2500. read more

As with my fellow Yelpers, I came across Advanced Wheel Repair in a Craigslist ad. I was searching for a wheel repair shop after denting one of my black/silver 18" wheels. I gave the number a call and a young guy came out to take a look at my wheel. He informed me it was fixable and would run me $220. It was a little pricey, especially since a new wheel runs $185, but the wheels have since been discontinued. I went ahead with the repair and within two or three days, my wheel was returned and looked brand new. I was unable to spot where the damage once stood and was more than impressed. One of the biggest fears of running custom wheels is the possibility of potholes. However, one can have peace of mind as Advanced Wheel Repair is a reputable and knowledgeable repair shop. read more

awesome customer service! Proven good quality job! Definitely and highly recommend! Happy with the results.

These guys do what others will deem impossible. As many other things in my SUV, the (OEM) rims were very particular; besides the fact that they were 21", they weren't powder-coated like other German-car rims, or chromed; their shine came from a special machining process. So when my wife, over the course of a year, managed to give ALL four rims curb rash, every other rim-fixing place told me I was SOL and had to get four new rims. Not these guys! They are not cheap or fast but they're still cheaper and faster than ordering new rims from Germany. And the rims do look like new. The 4/5 -- rather than 5/5 -- comes from a few things: they aren't cheap, they aren't fast and they did take a small chunk out of the sidewall of one of my tires when mounting it back. No biggie (did not have to replace the tire), but still one less star for that. read more

Early in 2010, I took my 18 inch original Hamann Wheel to have it repaired- Hamann HM2 wheels are rare and not made any longer, so I was out 2 wheels for a BMW E24 6 Series- Fortunately I was able to find the other one on CList- Advanced Wheel Repair performed the following- * Repaired curb dent & rash * Repainted wheel in silver * Machined entire wheel * Added a clear coat I was promised wheel would be complete in 1.5 weeks however, wheel took 1 month(4 weeks). I would suggest Advance Wheel Repair give themselves a bit more time when relating how long it will take, so they're not rushing should any unexpected emergencies arise and they will arise in this type of business, which is expected-besides these are your wheels you will be riding on once again. The guys in the shop are knowledgeable however, the staff needs to fine tune their customer service tactics and etiquette! They can get sloppy and short in their customer service when busy or when a customer is not happy with the end results as was the case originally- the guy at the shop actually told me "You're beginning to fucking bother me" all because I kept insisting there was oversray and other areas of the wheel could have looked better. Needless to say, I did not want to wait another month. End results were good- one can tell a slight almost unoticeable wave on lip. I give AWR Three & a half stars 3 1/2 read more
