I had a horrible experience with Tim Walker after the water softener was installed. He had lies to Thumbtack and to the BBB, saying he performed services which he did not. He tried to charge me for a repair that was under warranty and then lied that he performed a "service" call that included cleaning the injectors, remove seal pack and clean and lubricate the seals. He only repaired a hose that had come off. He never touched the tank, not even removing the top to do the so called service. Stay away from him. I have proof of everything I say. read more

Would like to give a -1 star. I attempted to schedule them to come out and replace RO water filters. They would communicate via text and would only give me the DAY they could come. I simply asked them if they could give me a time frame for arrival. Every communication with this person was stressful. So rude and unhelpful. Gave me a lengthy song and a dance as to why they couldn't tell me any time frame. I explained that I have a very busy schedule, and need to at least know morning or afternoon. They said their technician would call me when on his way. I explained that was not sufficient, since I have NO idea wh what time frame they could arrive, and I may be off the premises and not able to be here when they arrive UNLESS I have a better idea of when that would be. I had contacted three companies and wasn't sure which one this was, so I asked for the name of the company. I got a rude reply claiming that I've been combative from the start, which is totally insane, and I should go elsewhere. Trust me, I will. It seems ludicrous that simply asking for a time frame is "combative." It's really sad that a business would treat a brand new customer like this. read more

Tim is great and down to earth! Most importantly he is very trustworthy, knowledgeable, and fair! We spent so much unnecessary time and money with other companies who claimed they were going to "fix" our issues with no improvements! But within 24 hrs of Tim coming out, our water is nearly perfect now! It's super clear and finally odorless! I wish we found Tim so much sooner! Thanks again Tim! read more

I really should have googled Tim with Advanced Water before I bought the system from him last year in May 2021. But I'm only doing it now because I was having a problem with him, and then I saw that his behavior is a pattern. It is not only happening with me. Last month in August, I noticed my water was turning yellow. I texted Tim and he said I needed to get my system serviced. He said it required an annual maintenance service which he never mentioned it to me when he sold me the system. He said it would cost $140 for the maintenance service and $100 for the new UV light bulb. I did not respond to his text that day on Friday because I was going to a funeral. On Monday, he just texted me a question mark. I then told him I was dealing with my emotions from the passing of my loved one and did not want to deal with the water issue at that time. He said he understood but I should not wait too long. A few days later I asked him for an appointment. He said he could not give me one but would squeeze me in whenever he could. It did not sound professional to me. I asked him how he would know if I was home. He said he would call an hour before to see if I was home. Then on Wed 8/24, I got a text message from Tim when I was at the vet's office that said he was on his way to my house. I immediately texted him back that I was at the vet's office. He then said he must have misunderstood. I responded that he did not ask me if I would be home that day (Wed). He never responded to my text. I waited to hear from him till Friday and texted him asking for a firm appointment. He never replied. I reached out to the supplier Woody with Charger who gave me two names of his best water system guys. Both of them told me that the system Tim installed for me was not correct for my water situation which is well water, and the right system should not require an annual maintenance. So now I'm stuck with a system that is not right. Tim said he would warranty my system for 5 years on tanks and valves. Well, it turns out I was told that these things don't really break!! So the warranty is pretty much useless. Also, warranty in the water system business is only backed by the dealer who sells the system to you. No one else will do it, but the warranty is pointless. Now I'm being told by two very reliable water guys that come highly recommended by the supplier that I need a new system, but I don't have $4K to throw away every year, so I did not change my system. One of the water guys was kind enough to help fix the yellow water issue for me, but he said I did not need the service that Tim mentioned. This water guy came to help me on Tuesday morning since Tim did not respond to me at all since Wednesday after his last text in the morning while I was still at the vet's office. I later that night got a text from Tim at 7:57 pm asking if I would be available the next day. I told him my system was already serviced by someone else that I got referred to by Charger the supplier. He just said Wow, but a few days later sent me a text saying that since someone else serviced my system, he would not warranty my system anymore. I already knew that, so I did not respond. Today Wed 9/7, he sent me a long text message accusing me of lying. He said after I told him on Wed 8/24 I was at the vet's office, he was going to come the next day which would be Thursday. Why I lied to Woody at Charger that he was not servicing my system? That did not happen, and luckily my text messages with him were still there, so I grabbed screenshots as proof that I did not lie. So he changed to saying that he called me on Tuesday 8/23 about coming over on Wed 8/24. That did not happen either. He never called me. The only way he communicated with me was via text messages. I questioned which reality he lived in at this point. Now I feel he is harassing me. He is very unprofessional and unstable. I am just relaying facts to any potential customers. You can decide if you want to deal with someone like Tim. It is up to you. I was not going to post a review at first, but Tim really crossed the line with all the harassment. I saved all my phone records and text messages since he has threatened to sue me when I said I would post a review about him. I would love to present them to the judge. read more

I recommended this business to my sister based on their advertisement on Facebook marketplace. What a fool I was, they do not stand by their workmanship and not very professional. They left the original transformer installed in the system water softening system. They blamed the machine, not working on a grout fault receptacle, which is not so the system was never worked right since they it. They drain from overhead in the attic re-piped the drain to run on my grass killing approximately 150 ft.². I spoke with Judy and Tim both about addressing this issue. My sister did the same thing we get very good service not much of anything you want to use these people I highly doing your due diligence. I should have done it for my sister. They're one of the worst companies I've ever seen. I superintendent for in route in Virginia for over 25 years these people would not have contract. Their workmanship is just very substandard. I'm not 100% sure that they're even licensed to do business. I can't find out yay or nay either way I have read the Better Business Bureau issues with them. They do have complaints. I do not find any recommendations on the BBB. I don't find any good recommendations even on Facebook. read more

We contacted Tim Walker of Advanced Water to come and repair our older (over 20 years) water softener. I informed him at the time that I was not looking to buy a unit and was interested in a rental with salt delivery. Tim said he would repair our unit and we could do the monthly rental of $40 for it. He made sure the papers were signed to take payment through Square every month. I had issues that the system was still leaking, that it was cycling at 10 AM in the morning, and questions about salt delivery. Tim Walker came out 2 months after I contacted him spoke with my ill husband and left not doing anything. I called him and he said I needed to set the clock correctly and contact him with I am out of salt so he can delivery, still cycled at 9 AM in the morning. Two months later I texted him and told him that I need salt it was getting low. He said that he would get it to me. A month later I called this time and he told me he forgot about me because he was so busy and the delivery and would get it to me shortly. Two weeks later and he still did not come I had my Son in Law get salt. The children decided that we should go with some else and set it up. Mr. Walker did text me on Friday that he wanted to drop off the salt at which time I told him no one would be home to do delivery at the beginning of the week. My family made arrangements to have Culligan Water System installed on Wednesday 5/13/2020 which they are paying for. I let Mr. Walker know that he could come and pick up the unit as we were going elsewhere. He immediately took the payment from my bank account. He said that other companies would charge me installation fees and a two-year contract of over $2000. We had no contract. He then said I could pay $500 for the unit that he repaired. He completely misunderstood that older people (I am 70 and my Sister is 80) don't need the trouble lifting heavy salt bags and continuing cleaning up saltwater remains. I told him we were not interested to come to pick up the unit. We were home Tuesday all day and Wednesday afternoon but he was not interested in getting the unit although he did say the unit had to be working. I did have the installation person sign that the unit was working when they disconnected. Mr. Walker said that his employees would be here on Thursday AM to pick up the unit. I explained that my husband had an early morning Doctor's appointment but Sister would be home to let them in the garage. He wanted us to outside by the house. I wonder who he thought was going to move it (as Mr. Walker and his assistant were having a hard time moving it) and who was responsible if the unit was stolen. He finally arrived here at 2:15 this afternoon and he was asked to sign that he received the unit at which time he swore at my Sister and commented about how we paid $3000 for Culligan and would not pay him $500. I purchased a water softener system from Tim Walker, owner of Advanced Water, and it has been nothing short of a nightmare! He went on and on during the sales process that the system would be covered under warranty and that he would come back and fix it if there were any problems. I told him that was important since I'm an older woman on a fixed budget and couldn't spend a lot of money repairing it. He reassured me I would be covered so I went ahead with the purchase. About a month after he installed it, I noticed a pool of water forming at the base of the softener and it was dripping down the sides. I called Tim and he told me to send him pictures and video. I sent him what he requested and he responded that the part that was leaking wasn't covered under warranty and I would have to pay him $150 to come out and fix it. I told him absolutely not, he assured me any repairs would be covered, especially this being so soon after installation. He once again told me no, the warranty only covers certain parts and this wasn't one of them. I felt completely ripped off! I told him I would be reporting him to authorities and his response was literally "Lol good luck!". If this guy is willing to steal from an elderly woman, then it's obvious there is no limit to his fraudulent and predatory behavior. Also, like others have said he seemed like he was under the influence of drugs or alcohol when he was at my house installing the softener, I should've trusted my instincts at the time and went with someone else. BEWARE, stay away from Tim Walker! I paid $1000 for a water softener and Tim came to install it. 6 months later I woke up to water flooding my garage, one of the pipe fittings broke and was spraying water all over my garage for hours. I called Tim and he said he was busy and couldn't come for several days. I ended up having to call a plumber to fix because we needed water. The plumber said whoever installed the softener used the wrong fittings and that's what caused the leak. I had to pay the plumber $300 and told Tim what happened. He of course denied responsibility and said he would not pay me back for the plumber, that it wasn't his fault. A few months later the water softener started leaking slowly from the top of the unit. I again called Tim and he told me he was busy but would come by at some point to look at it. I didn't hear from him for weeks and reached out again and he told me he was sick. A month later I called again and was told he was moving. I told him at that point I just want the system removed since it's been turned off for so long and it keeps causing me problems, he agreed he would come and remove it. I reached out weeks later for when he was coming and he gave me more excuses why he couldn't come by. This went on for 10 months, he used every excuse in the book including moving on 3 separate occasions, being sick often, out of town, etc. Finally after 10 months I told him I wanted it removed immediately since it has caused me nothing but problems and he has refused and told me to hire someone else to do it. He is completely dishonest and from other ratings online it seems he has done this to many other people. He is a despicable crook and warn everyone to not do business with him. He has cheap prices because his softeners are garbage and he will leave you hanging while he keeps your money!!! read more

This company installed a water softener at my residence and done a fabulous job. However, on the owner's business card it states they offer plumbing services. The owner of this company does NOT know how to do plumbing. I had 2 bathroom sinks and 2 toilets installed. They were installed so bad I wound up having to call a professional plumber to fix all their mistakes. This company (owner) VERY unprofessional. I do NOT recommend this company for anything. Had an appointment for "first thing Monday morning" only to receive a text at 10:19am stating that he had "an emergency leak to run to". We had extensive conversation about my project, but at 10:19am on the scheduled day, he texted, "it's not an easy project but it can be done". After a few texts back and forth, he stated "I'm held up at the moment...I will message you when I'm done". At 12:55pm he wrote, "I apologize looks like I'm going to be here the rest of the day and maybe tomorrow morning. I'll keep tomorrow afternoon open..." It's 2 days later and NO WORD. NO TEXT, NOTHING from him. He did keep me posted by text, but could have placed a call instead of texting. If he did not want to do the job, he could have said it.
