Very fast and responsive and reasonable price for a flatbed tow, but I felt it was weird that the driver asked for a tip.

I had the rather unfortunate luck of getting some of my wires in my car chewed through by a small animal.... And so my car couldn't run properly. I called around a few places to get quotes and timing to tow my car to my mechanic. Everywhere else quoted 200+ and a 2ish or so hour wait time to tow my car from Mountain View to SJ. I saw Advanced towing had a bunch of good reviews and so I gave them a call. The owner quoted me a flat 165 without any fees. I was shocked and asked twice to make sure I wasn't getting bamboozled and that they weren't going to charge me hidden fees. The owner said it was a flat rate and I felt the price was reasonable. The driver came by in around 45 mins, which was quicker than everyone else. We got my car over to the mechanic and a had a good time talking with the driver, Mohammed. He was really a nice guy. They charged me 165 and not a penny over, which again, I felt was reasonable. If I ever am in some sort of need for a tow, I'd call these guys again. They're fast, reasonabley priced, and nice. The tow truck driver claims that you must text him in order to park in the regulated "guest parking" spots, but there are no signs indicating you must do that. If you are parked in a "guest parking" spot and the driver states that you did not text him, he will attempt to tow your car. I was parked in a guest parking spot and he attempted to tow my vehicle. I went outside to see what was going on and he did not have my vehicle hooked up to his truck yet. He continued to block my vehicle and demanded me to pay $100 for him to leave, saying "rules are rules" and if I wanted him gone I had to pay him. The vehicle was still on private property. Upon further research, California has consumer rights laws against predatory towing. Under Vehicle Code 22658, if a vehicle owner encounters a tower removing their vehicle but the truck is not on the public road, the owner may demand immediate release of the vehicle. Called them after several other Tow companies did not want to take on the task of getting my car out of underground parking garage due to very low clearance of car and garage itself. To compound the challenge, there is a steep angle to get into garage. Advanced Towing to the rescue. They accepted the challenge on short notice, provided excellent communication on time of arrival and most importantly handled my car like it was their own. We had to push the car to the garage opening and then I watched them move from side to side placing and adjusting support as needed to make sure NO damage was done to the car. Was driving from San Jose to Stockton, but car decided to give out in Fremont at 1030pm. After 30 minutes or so talking to our insurance company, we were able to contact someone who said they could be there by midnight. We didn't want to wait. Found Advanced Towing, used yelp to message them. They responded quickly, with a quote, and an estimated time of arrival. We canceled the insurance tow truck, and these guys were able to come in 30 minutes. They were quick and no bs. Towed the car back to SJ quickly and was on our way. Really great and convenient.
