ZERO STAR! I have the worst experience with Advanced Solar for what I hoped would be a seamless transition to solar energy. Unfortunately, what ensued was a nightmare scenario that left me with a damaged roof, a compromised interior, and a sinking feeling of being scammed. From the outset, Advanced Solar presented themselves as a reputable company, promising top-notch service and a commitment to ensuring no harm would come to my property. However, their actions spoke much louder than their words. Following the installation of solar panels on my roof, it quickly became apparent that something was amiss. Leaks began to manifest in my attic, seeping down to damage the ceiling and even the wooden floor beneath. Concerned and frustrated, I sought the opinion of a licensed roofer, whose inspection revealed shoddy installation work by Advanced Solar as the root cause of the damage. Armed with this evidence, I approached Advanced Solar, expecting them to honor their contract and take responsibility for the harm caused to my property. To my dismay, they not only refused to acknowledge their negligence but also attempted to shirk all responsibility for the damages incurred. Months (3 MONTHS) passed with no resolution in sight, as Advanced Solar dragged their feet on addressing the issue. It wasn't until May that they begrudgingly agreed to remove the solar panels for inspection, a delay that only exacerbated the damage to my home. In summary, my experience with Advanced Solar has been nothing short of a nightmare. Their poor installation practices not only damaged my roof but also resulted in extensive interior damage. Their refusal to take responsibility for their actions and honor their contractual obligations is indicative of a company more interested in profits than customer satisfaction. I urge anyone considering Advanced Solar for their solar energy needs to proceed with extreme caution. Don't be fooled by their promises of quality service; the reality is far from it especially from their consultant, Josh. Save yourself the headache and potential financial loss by seeking out a more reputable and trustworthy alternative. We decided to go solar in 2017. After extensive research, in collaboration with Solar United Neighbors (a 501(c)3 non-profit, https://cs.solarunitedneighbors.org/?program_id=bge&state_id=MD) we chose Advanced Solar to design and install the system. Instead of roof top panels, we chose to go with a ground mount. Throughout the process Scott was very professional and detail oriented. The team of installers arrived promptly and kept us informed of the process throughout. After the installation was complete Scott made certain that everything was in accordance with our county laws and regulations. They were extremely reliable and made a large process easy. I highly recommend Advanced Solar. My science and engineering background often lead me to raise various technical issues, which Scott Johnson, with great patience, educated me on. The system has worked flawlessly during the past 2 years and covers more than 100% of our electrical needs. My panels were installed last December. I interfaced with their salesman Patrick who was very responsive answering all of my questions. It took about 3 months from when I gave the go ahead. Much of that time was due to the permitting process. Advanced Solar and PEPCO provided me with ongoing updates. I was especially pleased to get the architectural plans they submitted for my system. Advanced Solar evaluated my roof and electrical panel. They discovered a serious issue with my electrical panel for which they offered me a fix at cost. The installation took just one day and I was thoroughly pleased and impressed with their installers - electrical and roofers. They were professional and pleasant. The best part is that my electric bill is significantly reduced and I'm earning SRECs. At present the SRECs I'm earning are just shy of $400 per MWh. And 5 or 6 MWh this year is not unrealistic . read more

Advanced Solar educated me on benefits of solar panels, evaluated my home and replaced inside boards supporting my roof, walked me through the contract, coordinated with inspectors and PEPCO, installed new electric wiring, then, installed my solar panels, and turned on my service, made necessary repairs for modifications, kept in contact with me at each point with advance notifications. In August, my electric bill was $322. After the solar panel installation, my November 2023 electric bill was $8.68; and my December 2023 electric bill was $8.68! I really appreciate Advance Solar. Advanced Solar is a top notch organization of caring professionals who consult with their customers every step of the way. The first step was an evaluation of my roof and the surrounding area of the house. At no cost, Advanced Sola trimmed an enormous tree that was blocking the sun. They cleaned up everything from my yard. They then removed the old roof and replaced it with fresh new board and asphalt tiles in the color of my choice (black). They later installed the solar panels and the control panel. The installation went like a breeze. Everything has worked perfectly since my installation nearly six months ago.
