On my to do list for 2025, I saw Advanced Eyecare for a treatment plan regarding cataracts. I had been told all my life that I would need it sooner or later and I opted for sooner. After an exam and consult, I was moved to an "educator." This person goes over and explains the different lens "options" and their cost. I had NO idea that the surgery offered lens options that would "enhance and/or correct" my vision (aside from the cataracts themselves.) The staff was enthusiastic and thorough in explaining the options. Unfortunately...the results I was told to expect have not been realized and will NOT be realized without a 2nd procedure and additional $$$. I became animated and agitated because this absolutely would have changed my thinking on lens options and surgery altogether. I was NOT given all of the information I needed to make a decision regarding long term permanent solution. This 2nd procedure was described to me by Dr. Ackerman as a little "trick" or "tweak" that took only 10 seconds. I'm sorry, but please do not describe making an incision on my eye as a "trick. "He brushed off that I wasn't told in advance. No one on staff denied my concern. They only minimized it and continued to ask if I wanted to schedule the surgery or not. NOTE: This package treatment plan came with a guarantee that if needed, LASIK/LRI at no cost if needed *after cataract surgery. Of course, that's "not what I need" according to the staff. But it's free if that's what's needed. I cannot see my children in the pool...I Cannot read street signs...I cannot read the channel guide on my television. Cannot recommend this practice. They inflate their billing with charges for procedures that should be included as part of exam. Was charged additional $115 to have one eyelash removed that was turned inward at suggestion of doctor during exam. Was not told there would be an additional charge for him to do this, otherwise I would have declined. Charging patients for services without disclosing costs (or the potential for additional cost) is not a way to do good business. Be careful if you use this practice. read more

When in for eye glasses. Told the tech I didn't want to dilate my eyes because I needed to drive. She stated oh its okay you can drive with dilated eyes. I stated no . Then she says well if we don't dilate your eyes with your insurance we will have to charge you 39.99. I stated that was a lie. I have used my insurance before with no dilation. That was no such thing. Then she says well its our company practice that if we don't dilate eyes we charge you 39.99. I called it a bogus practice ended my appointment retrieved my paperwork and left the building. I believe they wanted to dilate so they can charge the insurance more money for test. Not a fan at all. Called the office and told them I needed an appointment with an ophthalmologist because I was experiencing double/triple vision and headaches and my neurologist told me to do so. I was terrified and have never lost my vision like this and the staff completely failed. Nobody listened at all when I told them my medical history and no one seemed to care at all. The first set of technicians kept asking me how long I was a diabetic and I told them I wasn't. For some reason they decided to write that on the paperwork anyway after they were told three times that I wasn't. When I got to see Dr. Kim, the optometrist, NOT an ophthalmologist like I requested, she too asked me how long I was diabetic. I told her I wasn't. She then asked me how many insulin shots I gave myself each week. I said none I'm not diabetic. She proceeded to do a few exams then talked again about me being diabetic. I finally snapped. I said why do you keep calling me diabetic? I've now told you and your team no less than 6 times that I am not and have never been diabetic. She said well it says on the form that you take insulin. I said well I'm not sure why because I didn't say that because I don't and never have. I said I do take shots for psoriatic arthritis which has nothing to do with diabetes at all. At this point I looked at my husband and he knew I was ready to go. She then said oh I guess they got confused. Really? Okay.... Then I'm guessing this isn't the right job for them?! Wow. Then she sent me on my way and said well you may get your vision back between 3 weeks and 3 months. We'll see you in 2 months. I was shocked. I said okay well I still can't see and I don't have any reason that you've given me. She said well it could be a lot of things...Right... I get that. That's why I'm here. I've never felt so let down in my life. I wouldn't even go here to get a pair of glasses let alone to see a true doctor. I've reported them to my insurance company to let them know exactly how unprofessional the entire appointment was. They appeared incompetent, uncaring, and confused. I won't be back in 2 months.... The optometrist was not educated at all. We had moved and my original optometrist was 2 hours away so I thought I would find someone closer. Advanced eye center had descent reviews so I made an appointment for treatment of my dry and blurry vision after Lasix. After my examine, the new eye doctor said there was nothing he could do and I should just get glasses or put drops iMy eyes every 30 minutes (his words). Annoyed, I went back to my original eye doctor that was 2 hours away and he informed me That my eyes were good, definitely dry and prescribed restasis. Eyes are now good. I read more

I booked my appointment 5 months ago with Dr Ackerman. This was the 1st available appointment I could get with this particular doctor, so I patiently waited. Today, I went to the appointment and once I arrived at the Advanced Eye Center, I was told, cold blooded, that due to an emergency I could reschedule or see another doctor... no apologies and prior to my arrival, no courtesy call or to warn me about the situation... it only takes a few seconds to send a text. I highly encourage advance Eye Center to retrain properly its staff. Emergencies happen but All customers are important!! read more

The eye exam and patient care was good. I had a thorough exam and attention to details were observed. I got prescribed some new glasses. The glasses came in and I picked them up both sooner than I expected. The left lense was not a good prescription for my left eye. They redid my exam and ordered me new glasses. When the new glasses came in they were great. My only issue was the guy that brought my glasses out didn't look to see if they fit straight on my head. They needed some adjustment and he just wasn't willing or knowledgeable it seems to adjust the frame to fit me correctly. I had to go to another glasses shop to get them adjusted to fit me and my line of sight. Exam =good. Glasses service=could be better. read more

Don't be sold on the up-grade lens , 1 above the standard for cataracts . Not worth it . Look around ask questions ..Don't buy into what they are selling . read more

After seeing my original optometrist twice in the last six months he kept saying I had severe dry. My eyes got to the point that they hurt so bad I went to advanced eye center and saw Dr. Robinson and he diagnosed me with glaucoma I had dangerously high pressure in my eyes. If not for him I could have lost the sight in my eyes thank you Dr.Robinson for taking the time to find out what the problem really was. I recommend Advanced Eye Care very highly read more

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Ackerman and the entire staff of Advanced Eye Care. Not just an experienced, skilled doctor, but exceedingly patient. Takes all the time in the world to address every last concern. Everyone is polite, friendly, and they work hard with your finicky insurance through strange denials to get your medicine finally approved. read more

My wife and I have had nothing but the best of care from Dr. Ackerman and the Advanced Eye Center. We have both had cataract surgery there without a problem. I was on the clinic's site in order to confirm an appointment during which I'll discuss Lasik surgery. I'm looking forward to getting rid of my drugstore glasses and fully trust Dr. Ackerman to pull it off! read more

They now require you to check in through a kiosk, even though there are 2 people at the front desk. The kiosk requires you to scan your driver's license, scan your insurance card, and input your social security number. Way too much giving up of private information. Real bad took a friend there he had an appointment at 2:30 pm we arrived at 2: 15 there were a few coustumers there but after an hour there were new arrived people an walking in with out waiting not even 20 minutes finally at 3:30 he was call in. It is so frustrate to wait this long we tell the receptionist but the waiting time its terrible you guy there need to do something about this if some one as an appointment at any time it is reasonable to be attended on time.
