She had an appointment today, and when she got there, was t old her appointment had been canceled and rescheduled. No notice of this was ever received. When I inquired of the check-in person about how notice of this was given, I was told the cancellation and rescheduling was done via USPS. not via e-mail or text message. No such notice was received. This did not create any visible staff concern or surprise. No office manager was on duty so I was unable to explore the matter while I was there. Neither was any doctor on duty there. I confirmed that contact information was correct. In this day and age, not using electronic communications for an appointment matter is inexcusable. The staff I spoke with didn't seem to be particularly concerned that the notice was not received. It looks to me like there is an administrative problem with this office. It contrasts very poorly with my own experience at the Myrtle Beach office, which could not have been better. But because that office is not equipped to handle a wheelchair patient, my wife has had to go to the Murrells Inlet office.

They practice safe distance, masking and lots of sanitizer. And they checked my temp. Had a standard eye exam. No rushing. I've always tensed up over the glaucoma test and I was comfortable enough that it sailed by. I still have great eyesight and healthy eyes and wasn't pressured to buy prescription lenses. I went to see Dr. Magrath because of an online video where he stated that he gives every patient…read moreevery thing he has. He also said that he treats every patient as if they were his only patient. I guess he doesn't have much and I sympathize with his other patients. After an eye exam by one of his assistants, I waited 35 minutes in the exam room for Dr. Magrath to appear. No apologies for the wait. Instead of sitting down and discussing my history and why I was there, he immediately went to the computer to check my data. Then he gave me a 30 second eye exam and told me that my eyes were very good. As I began to share with him my concerns, he headed for the door and told me about the optometry service in the building. I do not wear glasses and I had no need to since my cataract surgery. The bottom line- he did not fit the description stated earlier. The doctor was a man on the move and the sooner he left me, the better for him. If you are seeking a caring, understanding doctor, avoid this guy.

The iris implant i am now stuck with is one of the most painful things you can imagine. The headaches are unreal and impaired vision to the point of restricted driving, restricted work. I will never be able to work in clinical settings anymore. People, please beware and do your own research before giving up your eyesight.
