As soon as I sat in the dentist chair he tells me I'm doing fillings with the silver caps I said no I'm not I told u composite only he called the manager she began to state my insurance didn't cover composite and if I wanted composite I would have to pay out of pocket $150.00 for 3 teeth and this is with a discount. I told her there had to be a mistake I work for Transit and I have one of the best insurance I pay for biweekly. She began to say she would call my insurance company to confirm that the composite is covered this was beginning of November we are now in February I ended up calling my insurance myself they emailed me to confirm to me that my policy covers composite fillings on all teeth once every 6 months per tooth I have an annual maximum of 2,000 for all services in a calendar year. I signed up for an end of the year deal from a Black Friday sale where I bought the scanner for $8,999.99 and you had to pay $49 monthly for their scan club for a year. Well I have been trying to cancel my membership now since we have a closer lab 20 minutes away to do our crowns. Since then the person I was working with quit and this new billing department lady wants me to pay $2,400 to cancel our contract (which ended in December of 2022). They can't find any paperwork, didn't even know they had an End of the Year deal so I had to forward their own email flyer back to them to prove their own ad is the one I accepted. Anyways I agree with the other Doctor's comments on here saying their billing department is corrupt and incompetent. They will try and scam you out of money somehow even though they offer these "deals". Save your time and money. Go with Dandy labs. They will GIVE you a free $30,000 Trios scanner, a computer and a cart to put it all on as long as you send them $1,000 a month in cases which is easily doable. So forget paying Bayshore $10,000 up front and then still having to pay stuff later if you decide to not use them. Use Dandy labs with no upfront costs and save yourself a huge headache!

I have to start at the beginning. In the past I've received terrible dental care in one form or another at different offices. I was already a non-complaining patient with low standards for dental care practitioners and lots of endurance for them and their office people. Until my last dental visit in Bay Shore, where an actual Instructor of dentistry at Stoneybrook (in his own office) left me very fearful and never wishing to visit another dentist ever again. He hit the nerve in my face with the numbing injection and was very careless and unprofessional. He actually greatly filed away my porcelain crown to get a tooth out next to it and never asked me informed me it said a word about it. ... but removed the entire outside of the crown on a large side facing out. (That was my experience with Dr. Calderone). And he installed a post that is now sideways with no crown because I was afraid to go back there even though i had to already pay for everything upfront. His office people just as terrible. So several years later when my upper back tooth cracked in several placesI would not get help. Then a filling fell out of another tooth nearby and bad odors occurring I just took natural herbal antibiotics to keep infection from forming over 3 years time with both teeth. Until a family member told me about her Wonderful Oral Surgeon, Dr. LEVINE. And the option she had to have general anesthesia for her complicated tooth extraction. it all went very well for her. And because I have recently been experiencing sudden panic attacks after the loss of my son, I thought maybe I could safely address my dental issues. I visited the office, ALL OF THE OFFICE TEAM was very caring, clear, and professional no long wait time. I met with Dr. Levine... he's absolutely wonderful caring and professional. No drama, very clear listened to my concerns and answered all my questions. . They offer a visiting anesthesia, Dr. Sarah Forgy with MAPS. She calls me gets my info personally and makes sure I'm going to be okay. I told her I tend to be chronically dehydrated and low blood pressure... she offers saline as part of the treatment, explains everything she's going to do very caring genuinely listening, I'm amazed. At my visit today the entire team gets me greeted me with care, positive attitude, and minutes before the procedure i started getting a panic attack. She held my hand... she switched the focus to talking about our beloved dogs... she was very professional and caring she was a calming presence. The procedure went well. I was not over-anesthetized... the office called with follow up, Dr. Forgy texted me to check in on me. I just can't say enough good things. I went from being extremely afraid of dentists after my last experience to once again having faith in seeing a dental professional. I'm so grateful beyond words. And my idea of dental professionalism has a higher standard now. They are a well oiled machine. Procedures went well and they checked on me all the way through. they called and texted next day to make sure I was ok. This should be normal practice , unfortunately, that is not always the case. I wanted to make sure that I gave them a great review, as too often people are quick to complain. Highly recommend.
