When my dentist Dr. Grasskemper of Bellport told me this, I was far from thrilled! He recommended Dr.Bear and I'm happy he did. From the start the office manager Mindy made me feel comfortable and relaxed. Dr.Bears assistant Yvonne did her best to try to assure me that all will be fine and talked to me to help relax me before the procedure. Dr. Bear himself was very reassuring and made sure I was as comfortable as possible during the whole procedure. To be quite honest I was expecting the worse and what I experienced was a caring comfortable experience , ( as comfortable as oral surgery can be) . Dr. Bear made sure throughout the entire procedure that I was okay and explained things along the way making me feel safe in his care. While periodontal surgery is on no ones Christmas list, if you need to have it done I highly recommend Dr. Bear and his staff. While I have more yet to be done in the future , I will now be less anxious knowing it's a caring professional staff who will do their personal best to get me through these procedures.

I brought my daughter there for her first exam under the age of 2 and Dr. Gruber was patient and…read moreshe did very well. As the visits continued he minimized her thumb sucking, basically telling us that "most kids need braces" (using examples of his own children) and did not give information about what the possible outcomes of her not breaking this habit could be. We saw Dr. Tara for one visit due to availability issues, and she addressed the issue explaining that my daughter's jaw could be affected long term and there were other issues that might arise from continuing this habit, and also gave us information about options for helping her stop. Dr. Tara was informative, answered all of our questions, and was very direct about her concerns, which is what we were looking for. With Dr. Tara's guidance we were able to help her stop thumb sucking completely and her jaw structure was able to realign itself. Once Dr. Tara left the practice we stopped going there. My overall impression is that the office staff is very helpful, and accommodating. I would not recommend Dr. Gruber due to him not being up front about the risks we were facing and making light of something that was more in our control than he would have us believe.

We waited with Kim for about 2 minutes until the dentist came in. I can not say enough nice things about Dr. Tran and Kim the dental assistant. They were both so attentative and made my son feel very relaxed. They answered all of my questions and addressed my concerns with kindsness and understanding. I Seriously do not have one negative thing to say.

I have been coming here since 2017…read more Delta Dental PPO is my insurer. Out of pocket costs are zero for two cleanings, x-rays, exams, diagnostic evaluations and sealants, and they are reasonable for major work. Nicole the hygienist carefully and throughly cleans my teeth and take my X-rays. She makes sure that she reviews my chart before she sees me. She also educates me on how to properly clean my teeth. She has been my hygienist for a year and one half. I am impressed because the another dentist office where I was a patient a high turnover of hygienists. Dr. Macari competently and professionally examines my teeth. He also has an excellent memory. Today he remembered when I came in several months ago on an emergency appointment for symptoms of teeth sensitivity. He recalled determining that the charcoal toothpaste that I was using was causing my teeth to hurt when in coming into contact with cold liquids. He also has been my dentist for a year and one half. Both Nicole and Dr. Macari emphasize the importance of frequent flossing and twice-yearly checkups. I usually have no tartar on my teeth, so I have never needed any major dental work. The negative thing is that the office no longer automatically gives out a complimentary package of toothpaste, toothbrush and floss. Patients must ask for them due to COVID-19 guidelines. All patients must wear masks in the waiting room. Wait times are usually no more than five minutes. I highly recommend Sachem Dental. They are so professional.
