On a Friday our air conditioning just quit working. Of course all we could think was the worst. A few years ago we had some work done by another company. We tried several times to call them but there was no answer and know return call. So I called Advanced Cooling Systems. I was able to speak to someone right away and explained the problem and he said they would have someone out that afternoon. I was extremely impressed with the level of customer service and professionalism of both the office staff as well as the service technician that came out to my house. Mike was both friendly and knowledgeable. I wanted to share what a great experience we had from beginning to end. I would recommend Advanced Cooling to anyone needing work done on their air conditioner system. I give them an A++++++! read more

When your a/c goes askew during the hottest period in Florida, repair/replacement is the main topic in the house! The problem was intermittent and the technician, Rick, stayed on the problem. He came out every time we called when the a/c shut down. He even stood out IN THE POURING RAIN installing a piece in the a/c that would snap it back to life. He tried everything!!!! Finally it was agreed upon by all, it was time to cut our losses and purchase a new unit. They carefully guided and recommended what would serve us best and at a decent cost. The day of installation was the continuing unreal heat and humidity de rigeur in Florida and the unit was to be installed above the ceiling in the garage! Talk about punishing conditions! But the three guys went about their business cheerfully and spent the day installing, cleaning up the garage and showing us how the new unit worked and great points of the warranty. These gentlemen were incredibly polite, neat, professional and efficient. The unit works like a charm. I cannot recommend Advanced Cooling Systems enough!!!!!! read more

Our AC went out on a Sunday evening. I had a neighbor recommend Advanced Cooling Systems. I called the following morning and they had a Tech at my house before noon that day. He called me in advance to let me know he was on the way and professionally introduced himself upon arrival. Fortunately, it was a pretty quick repair/part replacement so my AC was up and running in less than an hour. He explained what the issue was and advised what needed to be replaced and even showed me the broken part. The $99. house call was reasonable as well as the repair cost. Glad that this was not a major issue, but I will contact them again for future service needs for my AC system. read more

please do not use this company please look else where do your self a favor- they cannot be trusted-empty promises unfortunately over paid invoice and many attempts to get a refund have failed= promises-- But NO REFUND job was done then told I needed an expensive repair involving a $3.00 plastic water insert and over $200 repair charge and only 30 day warranty they still owe me $$ refund -IS this considered theft of services please go use another air conditioning service read more

Advanced Cooling Systems has once again saved the day at our home. This evening our AC was not cooling with 95 degree weather and it was so hot in the house. Huge thanks to Brandon Girouard for being so responsive to our needs in quickly identifying the problem. Low and behold the part needing replacement was covered by our Service Maintenance Agreement. read more

This is a review for Advanced Cooling Systems of Clearwater/Hillsborough. Trane AC system needed service and repair. I paid over $9,000 for their system. Their customer service is non-responsive. I spoke with a "manager" to address my service issue. He was rude, unprofessional and defensive. The issue is still unresolved. Service rep showed up without a mask and told me he was unvaccinated. Not acceptable. Would not recommend. read more

Easy to set up routine maintenance service call, Mitch arrived around the stated time, answered all my questions regarding performing maintenance myself. Definitely will use them again. read more

Advanced Cooling has lost my business. After using them multiple times, my experiences with 3 visits over the last 2 weeks and spending nearly $1k have been less than desirable. The tech Ron is abrupt, high strung and did not check my amps prior to installing a new fan motor. Unit was malfunctioning immediately after install - never worked/cooled when it had been cooling the days prior. Last amp check July 6, said running a little high but operational. In fairness, they did recommend I replace the unit. However, Had the tech had checked amps immediately prior to installing the new fan motor, and told me there was a chance the unit would not operate immediately after install, I certainly would have not gone that route. Tech was rushed...complained he had worked 60 hrs, and had 7/8 appts to go to. Calling to discuss the matter and get the tech back out to see if they made an error or not, I was hung up on by Jamie in the office and told to go elsewhere. Nice eh. Still giving them another chance, I called back to go with a brand new unit. They insisted no wiggle room in the quote provided, regardless of paying them nearly $1k in less than 2 weeks for another unit repair and for a new fan motor that didn't fix the unit. (Tech was only outside, never followed up to come inside and make certain everything was operational). To rub salt in the open wound, they also couldn't get me on the schedule for a new install for 1-2 weeks so my elderly mother must sit in the hot temperatures. A dozen neighbors recommended I call Airheads - they are coming in 2 days to install a comparable new 2 ton unit that is $1k cheaper than Advanced - and it comes w a transferable 10 year warranty for parts and labor. Once a year - for 10 years - they will be coming to do an annual service at no charge. Do yourself a favor, call Airheads and steer clear of Advanced who appears to be too busy to care about their clients. read more

This was the worst experience we'e ever had with any type of service business. Our HVAC system was on its last leg and upon receiving several quotes, we decided to use Advanced Cooling Systems based on the seemingly knowledgeable salesman and their 24/7 emergency service. We were sold a Trane system (2.5 ton air handler/3 ton condenser). This was purchased in the beginning of June and due to stock issues, installed end of June. The issues began immediately after install. This is a home that is stayed in approximately 2 weeks per month. A week after install, we arrive to a house that will not cool below 77. The emergency service was contacted and after having to contact the salesperson due to the lack of response, someone eventually came out. We were told that the wrong thermostat was installed (replaced the next day). Great, easy fix. Two days later, house stops cooling once again and the new thermostat is frozen. Another call, another technician...thermostat is replaced. Two weeks later I arrive to a house that again will not cool below 77. I'm given another excuse about a tray not working properly. This goes on and on....having technicians out at least 9-10 times. To save you time, this system NEVER worked due to improper installation and the wrong system being sold for the size of the home. We had an engineer as well as 6 other HVAC companies come to look at this brand new system that never functioned properly - and all said the same thing. The installation was done completely incorrectly, the refrigerant line (which leaked through my kitchen ceiling and now am stuck with that repair) was the wrong size, parts were damaged during install (TXV?), not enough airflow for the size of the system, etc. The absolute kicker is the service manager Dan. The guy shouldn't be customer facing AT ALL. He is an absolute disgrace to the company. It is one thing to have a shoddy job done by a new/incompetent technician, but it is next level to have the service manager BERATE a customer who has every right to be irate after paying 10k - *sorry, as corrected by this 'man' $9800*. Yes, he actually corrected what we paid, told me that his technicians that had come out multiple times were both experienced "35 years". I find it comical that a combined 70 years of experience, it took others a glance to know what was actually going on. This company is deceitful and unprofessional. The best experience with them was when they came to rip out the system and the technician that came was truly apologetic - and actually owned it. He wasn't the installer or anyone that had come before - but was the first to actually seem to know anything at all. We had a great, honest company waiting out front with a brand new system to install right behind them. We were refunded by ACS, but after countless nights in hotels due to being without AC and ceiling repairs, and TIME - this isn't even a refund in my opinion. Don't make the same mistake. There are tons of reliable and HONEST HVAC companies in the area. Aire J Heating and Cooling and Paradise are two that I can personally highly recommend. read more

We had our blower motor go bad and Rick at ACS came out to fix it. He was professional, answered all my questions and performed the fix quickly. This is our second time using ACS and while I hope we won't need any further A/C repairs, if I do I'll certainly call on ACS again. read more

We've always had issues with our ac since we moved in to our home 10 years ago. We've Been swindled by a couple dishonest ac companies. Anyway, I was referred by a friend who had nothing but good things to say. Fast forward to another ac problem and I decided to give advanced cooling systems a call. They came out the same day, gave me an extremely reasonable quote and set up an install date. The installers were polite, efficient, professional, knowledgeable, and clean (which a lot of companies don't clean up their messes). If I remember correctly, the techs that I've dealt with were Jim, Dave, Eric?, and one other. The secretary/scheduler was courteous and helpful. Without a doubt, I would recommend them anytime! read more

II live in the Westchase area and recently I was in the market to replace my central air in my residence. My neighbor is a sales representative for a local Central Air and Heating Company and I am a person who prefers doing business with vendors or dealers of any products and services that are not affiliated to my neighbors or me. As far as equipment goes, I knew exactly what I needed as replacement unit along with the model numbers of the Condenser and N-Coil Unit and the cost to replace the unit. I called the Hillsborough County for the cost of the permit for a replacement HAVC unit. I must have called at least 12 Central Air dealers who install central air conditioners and I received estimates for over $5000 as a package price but not a breakdown list. Finally I opened our Westchase Community Monthly Magazine known as "World Of Westchase" and called ADVANCED COOLING SYSTEMS, located at 1670 North Hercules Avenue, in Clearwater Florida, Phone number (813) 855-6006 and spoke to Jeff Rapaport and explained him what I need and have few estimates as well as what the equipment cost. Mr. Rapporty called me back within few minutes and gave me a price, which inspired me to have the equipment that I need to be replaced next day. Lets put it this way that the cost below $2000 the lowest estimate that I received from other rip off Central Air Conditioner dealers as a package price. ADVANCED COOLING SYSTEMS also gave me the breakdown price, which I needed to compare the prices that I received from wholesale dealers. The central air was replaced the next day and it is working fantabolous. As a customer, I would recommend ADVANCED COOLING SYSTEMS to other readers in the Tampa Bay areas who are thinking of replacing their central air or heating unit. read more

ACS is awesome. I had someone from another company come out to my Clearwater FL residence and completely dismantle a Slim Jim Mitsubishi unit. He couldn't repair it and left if all open and me helpless. ACS came out, ordered the part and completed the job. Very thorough. Great communication on their Team. Would hire every time. Thanks ACS! And special thanks to Jeff and to Andrew. read more

As a consumer im about as picky as they come and i have to say Advanced Cooling did an awesome job with replacing my condenser, air handler and cutting in an additional return. It did not appear to be an easy job but the installers took their time and did not rush. Hiring an unfanmiliar contractor can be a gamble but rest assured these are one of the good ones. Top it off they are the only ones i found that offer a 3 year labor warranty. Could not be more pleased with price and service. Thanks! read more

I think they are the best out there! They installed a new Trane air conditioning system in my condo yesterday with on-time, friendly customer service and had the job done in no time at all. I very highly recommend them. Andrew is a great service manager. He came back out the very next morning to help me with the thermostat and adjust the fan to make it nice and quiet. They gave me the best deal out of seven companies. read more

Just moved to Florida. Found these guys on Angie's List - all A ratings. They gave me a better price than others on a new air conditioning system, installed it when they said they would, at the price they promised. It's hot and humid outdoors, and I'm cool and comfortable indoors. And the system is QUIET. I'd use them again for sure! read more

the most horrible experience i have ever had! i do not recommend them what so ever! rip off, con artists, cannot even install a trane properly, cheap shot work where midway services is having to clean up and repair their crap shoot work after nearly spending $4500k on a brand new trane! forget it about it - go with midway, do not dial their number, and furthermore, you can forget about their reps on the phone who so called made false report claiming i had made repetitious calls (when i do not even have their number, my mother has their number) which is why they rendered this long term contract. worse, this brand new trane, was icing up frequently, had to pay (and to say it is under warranty (?), $230 to clean coils even though i had requested new installation of ducts because of the age; i am an osha certified lennox for antiques, vintage, and classics up to early 1970s' era! their attitude stunk, broke expensive plants and do not care about your property; will walk right over your garden instead of the path. what a cheap shot! when you think worse has waxed worse; then the compressor became solid ice; we had no air conditioning at all - they left us suffering and i had a major surgery and just was discharged and had to endure over 100+ degree sweltering heat even with all the fans and windows opened and the doctor's orders were for me to be in a cool place for 2 weeks. they kept phoning my mother and cancelling the service call, all sorts of excuses and never mind the matter that my elderly mom had informed them that i just had a major surgery and needed the air conditioner; i was to a point, one step away from heading to the emergency room ... yours truly by acs air conditioning services! would you put yourself in this position considering they have 24 hour emergency service calls and yet they would not come out for that or compensate either? color me clueless! and finally, we had a service man scheduled to come out, so i waited outside for him; no one showed up and it was making me sicker, i was outside since 7:00 am, just in case if he arrived early, by this time, his service time frame had expired; due to the fact my elderly mother was out of town. my first time placing a call to acs air conditioning, and the relay operator was yelled at for i am profoundly deaf, that operator was told, "please stop calling me, i am booked up to hear with phones ringing off the hook and all by myself in here." and this was confusing, how could i be calling her when it was my first time placing the call? in this tampa bay region, there are over 10+ million hearing impaired and deaf people residing here who uses relay services; so under the assumption and presumption, i gave a leeway of doubt that they have other customers / clients who are hearing impaired or deaf who uses relay calls because it was quite evident she understood how relay services functioned. but before i redialed; i did ask the relay operator one question if he had heard any phones ringing in the background, his response was "no, it was very quiet in the background which he admitted he thought it was odd unless she was using a bt (blue tooth) he would not know.'; so i redialed and since i never had the opportunity to say anything earlier, because she slammed the phone on me. well, this time around; she then remarked a man's name and said "please tell him to stop calling us, we are having a tech on the way over there." until the relay operator then interrupted her to inform the caller was not the person that she thinks it was; she became quiet, i then proceeded to follow up as where the tech was as i was slotted for 8 am to 10 am and it was now nearly noon, was he rescheduled or something happened? i had been outside since 7 am and no one had showed up, even my neighbor next door came over to see how i was doing as my mother had informed you she was going to be out of town all day. now this was the straw that broke the camel's back which makes me wonder if she was schizophrenic or bipolar, because she made this false claim that the tech came, knocked on the door and no one was home. apparently she didn't listen to me what i said, i had been outside the entire being, even my next door neighbor was over with her grandchild as well; for our grandchildren were playing on the driveway. she told the relay operator off and me off, and absolutely no tech was coming back, he was there, took photos, and all that garbage. now my neighbor picked up the phone and pick of paper that my mom provided me their number and dialed acs air conditioning services herself on the cell phone since she blocked my home phone number, and she was chewed out and was used profanities at (what was said, i do not know - other than seeing my neighbor's face turning red in anger and lviid and snapping over to them on the phone in what appeared to be an argument) then my neighbor informed me that acs air conditioning had already thrown my contract out after the 2nd phone call! read more
