Jeff Schels took us as a car accident. He only wanted his money. He did the same maneuvers on everyone. The longer it went on he got aggressive telling us to get our lawyer to pay. I have been seeing Dr. Jason Raesz for approximately two years. I had been quietly suffering from neck and middle back pain most likely caused by carrying a computer bag to and from home for multiple years. Dr. Raesz listened to my story, did a careful examination and X-rays etc. He put together a plan that he felt would achieve maximum results and get me to feeling better. I saw him weekly at first and now I am on what's called maintenance plan where I only go once every three weeks. I am pleased to report that I am pain free and enjoying jogging, hiking, lifting weights and so much more. He might not be able to cure you but he can for sure help you achieve maximum results. Let me start by saying I'm not the person that typically writes a review (good or bad). I have 3 1/2 month old twins that were super cramped in the womb and as a result are having issues with range of motion so I decided to take them to be seen. I have met my out of pocket maximum and deductible so the first place I started was through my insurance (Aetna) to find a provider in network. I called my insurance company and made sure chiropractic care was covered for the babies and they said it was covered 100% since I had met my maximum for the year. I called numerous places that I found through the app to make sure they accepted children their age and made appointments. I decided to go with Advanced Chiropractic even though they said it would be $59 to see them both because I could handle that cost if it meant my babies would get the care they needed. I explained numerous times that my insurance maximum had been met and they said I was covered 100%. I was told over the phone that it would cover the evaluation and we could be seen as early as the next day for treatment. What I was not told is that the $59 didn't cover any kind of adjustment. When I showed up on Monday I had to rush through two sets of paperwork and paid the $59. We saw Dr. Allen and she was very knowledgeable and she explained where my babies were having problems. There was no adjustment made. I was told to come back the next day for treatment plan and payment options. Again, I met my maximum so I was assuming they would have called my insurance to verify that and I would be coming back to a much different experience than I did. When I arrived today I was sat in a small room and asked to watch a 15 minute video while waiting for the doctor. The video was basically about how it made sense to spend $3000-5000 on chiropractic care to avoid a $10,000 surgery in the future. It was at that point that I knew a sales pitch was coming. I checked again on my insurance app to see the coverages for Advanced Chiropractic and it showed that as of today (12/12/22) that they were no longer in network. I have the screenshot to prove it. A few minutes after the video ended, Dr. Allen came in and showed the options for treatment which equaled to about $800-850 for a 6 week treatment. I explained that I didn't have the ability to commit to that, especially at the holiday season and she offered to have the office staff call insurance tomorrow but I feel that it should have been done already if they knew my insurance information and were planning to present a payment plan to me. I'm upset that I spent that money and didn't even have my babies treated. I've been to numerous chiropractors myself and I have always walked out with an adjustment. The whole experience made me feel that money was the number one concern and I have never regretted seeking out treatment more than I did today. I ended up walking out and kindly letting them know that had I known the money I spent wasn't going to treat them even once I wouldn't have done it. I feel misled and that I threw money down the toilet that could have gone to diapers or Christmas presents. I was on the verge of tears as I walked out the door and have never been more embarrassed. They tout "corrective chiropractic" and will plop a $3,000 7-9 month treatment plan in front of you and expect you to prepay in full or get on a monthly payment plan. New patients are forced to sit in a "doctor's report" where they will use scare tactics to get you to sign up with their "corrective" plan. They literally tell you you're practically killing yourself if you don't do chiropractic care. They do not palpate to see where subluxations are at each adjustment and they adjust everyone the same. They take X-rays at the beginning of care and then adjust off the X-rays for the entire several month plan. All they care about is seeing as many people as possible and getting as much money out of you as they can. Your adjustments are practically public in a little "room" separated from others by panels, lasting about 2 minutes since the doctor doesn't palpate or ask you about any new symptoms. There are many better chiropractors in the area that will actually spend time with you seeking to understand your pain and help you get out of it. And they won't put the fear of God in you that you're going to die 10 years early because you have an imperfect neck curve. read more
