Temple Rehabilitation Hospital is located in Temple, Texas. It's a lovely Center where a patient…read moretruly does come first. Everything from the spacious rooms, to the outdoor courtyard and the therapy gyms, it's an amazing place to recover and get rehabilitaed. Our physician was Dr. M Yee, a brilliant, caring doctor, who worked relentlessly to find a cause and a therapy that gave me back my husband. Speech therapy was with Jacque. She is amazing and pushes her patients in the kindest way. Helping the other therapies in the process to ensure a well-balanced recovery. Reminding him always of the goals and reasons for all he was doing Physical Therapy was Elijah. He worked my husband hard but in a fun loving way. Kept him motivated and pushing him to further heights each session. Occupational therapy was Beth. Loving and sweet but hardworking, she taught us both how to work to make sure he continued to improve at home. Our caseworker was Michelle. Where to begin? She worked with all disciplines, was an intermediary between us and the CA, helping in what I felt went above and beyond in getting things organized and ready:,not only at Rehab but also for when we go home. They are not enough words to describe the care and concern that the doctors, therapist, nurses, CNAs, and staff had concerning my husband and his recovery. This was our second stay at Temple rehab for the same condition only this time they were able to find an actual cause for his lack of post- surgical recovery. His first time was surgically related but it triggered a secondary issue that Temple rehab has been able to Define and work with. We cannot express our gratitude and love for these people enough. Although the state wasn't perfect, any issues we had were dealt with immediately and solutions were offered and everything was resolved. I wanted to make sure that I covered everybody but when I tried to name off all the CNAs and nurses that were there for us it was all of them. We had no favorites because they were all favorites. There's truly not a bad apple in the bunch. They love their work, and they love their patients.

I've called multiple times and spoken to the billing department and after several months I still don't have a copy of the bill. One lady in the billing department said she would make sure we received no more calls from the collection agency yet they keep calling. I tried to call the billing department this morning and waited on hold for over an hour with no answer. The incompetence of this organization is unbelievable. Physicians who refer to this rehab hospital should find another rehab facility for their patients.

My family had an extremely negative and distressing experience at Elite…read more My wife brought our 1-year-old autistic son for feeding therapy as required by his GI doctor. Unfortunately, his feeding therapist, Julie Bradford, repeatedly misinterpreted his vocal stimming as actual speech. My wife voiced her concerns multiple times and clearly explained that mislabeling stimming as speech in his medical records could harm his ability to receive appropriate speech services in the future. We were there for feeding therapy, not speech therapy, yet our concerns were dismissed every time. When we sought help from the co-owner, Heather Field, hoping for professionalism and respect, we received the opposite. Instead of listening, Heather insulted my wife, suggested she was a bad mother for advocating for our son, and told us to find another therapist if we didn't agree with the treatment. Later that same day, she cancelled all our appointments without my wife's consent, even though we were attending three times a week for both OT and feeding therapy. The feeding therapy itself was also concerning. Despite us explaining that our son responded best to mild, bland, or salty foods (such as fries or crackers), Julie Bradford continued to push purees that he clearly disliked. Her refusal to adjust to his needs worsened his food aversion--and now he has even begun resisting his necessary oral medications, which previously he took without issue thanks to my wife's hard work. The level of disrespect, lack of professionalism, and disregard for parental input at Elite was shocking. We paid Elite a significant amount of money and were still treated as though our concerns, our boundaries, and our child's needs were irrelevant. No family should be made to feel disposable or belittled while trying to get care for their child. This was a horrible experience. I strongly urge any parent to look elsewhere for therapy services. If you live in the Killeen or Temple area, it is worth driving multiple hours to a clinic that will respect both you and your child.

Even the lab techs are helpful as well as funny. The cafeteria as a few nice selections of food but could use more seasoning. As long as you are a patient going to your appointment and going home, you will be ok. Then there is the emergency room. In the emergency, it is as if there isn't enough techs because the lobby is always full. A lot of the nurses do not have bedside manners. A few of them do. I have had bruises, loss blood and even been assaulted nasally after they were told I did not want the care that they were trying to administer. They do not listen to the wishes of the patient or the family because they think they know everything. The people in charge will let the workers talk to the patients and families any kind of way, but they have a violence policy where the patients or family members cannot retaliate or use profanity. But when it comes to the speak up policy that is supposed to be enforced, the patients are rarely heard. I'm a heart transplant patient so I'm usually on the fourth floor. Now there are a few good nurses that actually do their jobs, have bedside manners, make the situations personable, and even make friends. Some even become like family. Then there are those who come to work with a chip on their shoulders and try to take it out on the patients. Now when it comes to Patient Relations, Douglas Stephens is probably the only one that actually cares and wants to help the patients. He actually takes the time to listen and come up with solutions. All in all Scott and White is a business. There are always some good people and some bad people. They need to read the signs provided for them as well as the patients. Treat people how you want to be treated. You have to give respect to get it. That's all I'm saying. The place itself is a wonderful place. You will find the right doctor for you.
