I took it in for an original estimate on repair cost. It took about 24 hours for them to get back to me. I was estimated a repair cost of $300 to fix my broken display. After weighting my options between repairing this camera or buying a new one altogether, I saw the retail price for my camera nearly doubled since I bought it a few years ago. So I decided to go with the repair. I enjoy how Advanced Camera Repair won't move forward with the repair until they get your consent. After my approval was given it took a little over a week for them to fix my camera. Form of payment can be done in two ways. Either via invoice or pay in person when you pick up your camera. I had 2 Canon cameras that were reading memory cards as locked and I saw the reviews here and decided to give it a try. Brought them in on a Saturday and they said they'd give me an estimate by Monday, which they did. Provided an estimate and said it'd be done in about 7 days, it was done by the end of the week! I paid a little more than $300 for the repair of both cameras- but that doesn't compare to the amount of joy I got from having my cameras fixed. I broke my digital camera last August and because my model is discontinued, it has taken me months to find someone who could repair it. Advanced Camera Repair agreed to check it out and provide a free estimate. Their service was amazing! The communication was fast and clear. The price of my repair was very reasonable. They estimated the repair would take 2-3 weeks, I believe they completed it within 2. I paid the invoice for the repair and my camera was shipped back to me on the same day. Not only is my camera completely repaired but they cleaned it as well so it feels like a brand new camera! Repaired my lens but 4 months later I discovered 3 missing screws and the lens came apart. They wanted another $350 to fix for what I claim was their fault. When I complained, they said they wouldn't repair my lens or ship it back to me. When I originally shipped it they had the wrong address on their invoice so I sent it to their old address and it was lost art UPS. A nightmare. Worst customer service I have ever had in my 50 years in the business. Stay away. read more

This is an awesome repair shop and I am so pleased that it is in Joliet within reasonable driving distance from home. I have used this shop twice in the past two months. The first time I dropped by to have a polarizing lens filter that was stuck to my Nikkor zoom lens removed. It was taken care of right on the spot in front of me. They did not want to charge me, but I insisted on paying something because their service was of value to me. The 2nd time I used them to clean and check a used Nikkor 80-400mm telephoto lens that I bought on eBay. The lens was in good shape but the front lens was badly smudged. This shop did a nice job in cleaning the lens and performing the necessary checks and calibration. It looks brand new. I am very pleased. They are very easy to deal with and the turnaround time was a couple of days. In summary this is a very nice and competent camera repair center. I intend to use them in the future. read more
