Stay away from this shop. I'm local and chose this place because it's always busy, and I assumed that meant the repairs would be high quality. Big mistake. I seriously regret bringing my car here. I would give zero stars if I could. I brought my vehicle in for minor bear damage at the end of July. Fast-forward to December, and somehow my car now has more issues than when I dropped it off. Every time I went back, something else was still wrong or newly wrong. Emails? Ignored. Repair timelines? A mystery. Apologies? Not a single one. After multiple visits and contradictory explanations, I finally had to involve the Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR) just to get any movement. Even with that, my car is still not fixed, and I've spent more time dealing with this than the bear spent breaking it in the first place. I'm sharing this so others can avoid the delays, the silence, and the overall headache. We've taken 2 vehicles to these guys and both times we were very happy. The work came out great and they stick to their estimated timeframe. Nielsen is very helpful and responded quickly to any of my communications. I hope I don't need a body shop but if I do I will be bringing it here. read more

After waiting several months for them to get the parts to repair my vehicle the personal stopped returning my calls or answering the phone. Not sure how this business is staying in business. When I say didn't return calls I talking about over 20 messages left with no call back and 5 messages left with a employee with no call back from the person handling my case. One star is only because it would not let me give "0". read more

This place is absolutely wonderful! I cannot thank the entire staff who worked on my Yukon enough. They truly went above and beyond, surpassing my expectations. They not only took care of the problem areas on the exterior, but noticed a trim piece was missing on the inside of the window (this has bothered me for months and was about to purchase it myself). Advanced Body & Frame did a great job on my car. I had some dent damage due to pinecones falling from a large tree in my yard. They worked with my insurance and were very accommodating for when I could drop off and pick up my car, and offered to rent me another vehicle while mine was being repaired (I didn't need this, luckily). It took a little longer than expected because it turns out my car needed a whole new hood, but they were very communicative about the delay and it wasn't an issue for me at all. Someone hit my parked car and broke the rear tail light and caused some minor damage. I was dealing with the stress of filing my first auto claim and stressing from the person who hit my vehicle sending me weird, threatening text messages. Add to that my criminal justice major made me neurotic about driving a damaged car (pre- textual traffic stops, anyone?). I was a bundle of nerves! Fortunately, my insurance claims adjuster steered me to Advanced Body and Frame. I had the choice of going anywhere, but as soon as I talked with the manager, Damien, I was confident and comfortable that my repairs would be managed appropriately. I appreciated that he tried to save me money by ordering a used part, but it arrived damaged and he had to go ahead and get a new rear taillight. All said, I only had to wait a little over a week for the repairs, which only took about 30 minutes once the new part arrived. The chipped paint was touched up to prevent rust and corrosion and looks perfect! I am very appreciative of the expertise and professionalism of Advanced Body and Frame. No one wants to deal with a damaged car and insurance companies, but if you need to, don't hesitate to have this firm handle your repairs. read more

I was traveling to Utah and had a mishap with a side window that wouldn't go up. It was a rainy Friday afternoon and these guys were packed - yet somehow, they managed to fit me in, fixed my window in about ab hour, and charged a reasonable price. And, they did all this with great kindness. They were working on some nice cars - Teslas, Tundras, etc. and everything looked great. Spotless shop, too. This is a standup outfit. Please do not give them business. Farmers recommendation to go there and i dropped it off for hail damage, hood, windshield and some roof work . Said 8 days, i paid for my rental out of pocket and told them that, they called me the day it should have been done saying they needed another week for clips and a windshield... i finally picked it up and the hook paint was all scratched, they forgot to put all the hood parts back, safety lock, fire proof, rubber gaskets. Forgot the windshield wiper parts and dented my dashboard pitting in the windshield.... it was actually more messed up then when i brought it in. I called farmers and they had to have me go to a shop in Reno to fix it all and they are only taking 2 day.... please be aware because this wasted so much of my time and money that i can't get back read more

I had a very small job that I've been putting off and Advanced Body and Frame took care of it immediately. I needed my front license plate mounted and since my car didn't have predrilled holes in the bumper, I had to go into a professional body shop. The women who run the office told me when to come in and the job was done in ten minutes for $30. They were courteous, honest and professional. read more

Unfortunately, my spouse and I have had a lot of bad luck with people hitting our cars and Elyse has been amazing. Every time our car has been here it's been taken care of quickly and efficiently. Anyone who has had an accident or a bad situation occur knows dealing with getting the car fixed is stressful. But between our insurance working smoothly with this shop and the process it takes to get the car into the body shop, we have had no worries or added stress. Absolutely horrible! I took my Toyota truck there to get detailed and they barely even vacuumed it. I still had sunflower seeds and dog hair in it. I paid $225 for a once over with a shop vac. I will never return and highly encourage you to take your business elsewhere! read more

I am definitely recommending Advanced Body & Frame. I took my 'old' Ford SUV there on the recommendation of my State Farm agent for front end damage repair from being hit by a deer. They made it look new again -- did a fabulous job of matching the grill color, "repaired" the less than half inch crack in the bumper rather than replacing the whole bumper; damage to right fender and headlight was repaired, making every effort to keep the repair costs down so that this 'cosmetic' damage would not cause the insurance company to consider it "totaled"! Everyone out there knows what (unknown) 4WD can be bought for the few thousand dollars the insurance company would have handed me. I've owned this vehicle since new and know how mechanically sound it is. Advanced understood that and worked with me and State Farm so I could keep my car. The work was completed in the estimated time AND it was delivered back to me washed inside and out!!In Snow Country that is a major Bonus. read more

These guys are fantastic! I hit a block of ice left by a plow in the middle of the road in my Mini. Was thinking my car would be in the shop for a month or more because of the front end damage. Wiith a lot full of cars needing repair they replaced the front grill, bumper, fog lights, radiator, and air baffles and it only took a week. Great people here glad we have them here in Truckee. The word on the streets of Truckee is avoid this place. But with the decent yelp reviews and a State Farm recommendation, I thought I'd dismiss the anecdotal info and give it a go. Dropped my car off on a Monday for a simple window replacement. With an AR coming on Friday, I figured we had plenty of time before things got wet. Well, they broke the first glass they'd ordered and told me it would take until the following Tuesday. Over a week to replace a window? A mobile glass place can do it in a couple hours. Go with Auto Glass Express Truckee or for body work head to Reno, it's probably worth it. read more
