Title: Beyond disappointed with WeatherTech: $1,000+ AlloyCover rotted out, and their "solution" is…read moreinsulting Post Body: I wanted to post an honest warning for anyone considering dropping hard-earned money on a WeatherTech AlloyCover. Like many people, I bought heavily into WeatherTech's aggressive marketing about premium quality, superior engineering, and "American-made" durability. After my recent experience with both their product and their management, I will never buy from them again. The Setup Vehicle: 2020 GMC Sierra 1500 Product: WeatherTech AlloyCover Hard Tri-Fold Tonneau Cover Location: Central Florida Shortly after getting my truck in 2020, my mother bought this cover for me as a gift. She deliberately chose WeatherTech over cheaper aftermarket alternatives because she wanted to buy the best. We paid a massive premium specifically so I wouldn't have to worry about replacing a cheap tonneau cover every few years. That trust was completely misplaced. Premature Material Failure The structural aluminum panels are completely fine, but the rubber seals between the folding panels have completely disintegrated. The rubber has dry-rotted, cracked, and peeled away in chunks. Because the hinge seals have completely fallen apart, the cover is essentially useless. Rain pours directly through the joints into the truck bed, defeating the entire purpose of having a tonneau cover in the first place. This isn't cosmetic wear or neglect; it is an outright material defect where the rubber cannot handle standard outdoor conditions without falling apart. Support's "Solution": Spend Even More Money With Us I initially reached out hoping to handle this reasonably. I sent detailed photos of the rot and asked if I could simply buy replacement seals or a repair kit to fix it myself, or if they would stand behind the product with a replacement. Support had me jump through hoops gathering photos of the serial number, vehicle specs, and hunting down the original P.O. information. Once I provided everything: Warranty Denied: They pointed out the AlloyCover only carries a 3-year warranty (contrary to the lifetime warranty people assume WeatherTech provides across the board). No Repair Option: They don't offer replacement rubber seals, hinge repair kits, or any way to service the cover. A $1,000+ piece of hardware is treated as disposable trash once a strip of rubber dries out. The "Generous" Offer: Management's grand resolution was a 20% discount code toward buying an entirely new cover. The Bottom Line Offering a measly 20% discount on a brand-new cover when your product failed prematurely is an absolute slap in the face. Their expectation is literally: "Our product failed prematurely, so give us another $800+ to replace it." I pushed back and gave management a clear chance to reconsider and stand behind their craftsmanship. They doubled down and confirmed that 20% off a new unit was their final stance. If you are considering buying a WeatherTech tonneau cover thinking you're paying for lifetime American craftsmanship, look elsewhere. You are paying a premium price tag for mediocre rubber that rots out, backed by a support team that treats you like a repeat sale rather than a valued customer. Has anyone here managed to successfully rebuild or replace these panel seals with aftermarket rubber, or should I just scrap it and move to a brand that actually backs what they build?

This is my local Auto Zone store. I've been going there for over 15 years…read more Yesterday, the battery in my car died and I got a jump from a friend. I immediately popped over the the zone for a replacement battery. I didn't notice a single familiar face behind the counter. The counter man was able to properly locate the replacement cell in stock. While paying the bill, they informed me that I was "required" to purchase battery post grease if they were going to perform the install. I have NEVER been forced into purchasing battery grease before and this came as a shock. I paid because I needed the new battery installed NOW. The other guy "punk kid" who performed the battery swap was a jack-ass, period. And has no business being in a customer service roll whatsoever. He removed the old battery without incident, but installing the new one was a joke. He placed the battery post grease on the top of each post but neglected to spread out around the outside perimeter of the post. I informed him of this error only to be told, "Yeah sir, I already did that". I watched him and he did not do that. Next he installed the battery wires on each post of the new cell. I told him that he needed to clean the contacts with the wire brush tool and he informed me, "That's not my job"... I asked him, "Excuse me, that's not your job?" and he said, "Right". I was actually dumbfounded. I mean, who the hell's job is it, if not yours. I even asked if the connections were tight because you're pulling upwards of 400-500A during a typical car start. He said, "Yeah, the connections are fine". He twisted the post connection and of course it was loose. I got home and took his installation apart and corrected his shitty workmanship. I was quite disappointed to say the least.

Walked in and i was helped almost right away. I explained my battery situation and the young man who was taking care of me told me to pull my car up . He was out there in an instant and without delay and got to taking out my old battery while i purchased the new one inside and then brought it out to him and after taking out the old one he installed the new one in a matter of minutes and the job was done. He was super friendly and he answered any questions i had as well. Battery ran me 172$ and it came with a free installation and a 3yr warranty. Personally i had a great experience at this autozone and i will be coming back for any other automotive needs!
