My rear plate was falling off my car. I thought a simple bolt would fix it. Nope! Alex S. To the rescue. The man searched and tried to remove the bolt that had sheared off. In and out of the store to my car... In just a short sleeved polo in December! So nice! He finally found the right part. Found the combination of 3 tools to remove the broken part. Attached a new metal screw so this would not happen again. Then replaced the other screw to make sure I would not have a future break! Went in to have my 5yr battery tested due to a good amount of corrosion. Trisha helped me immediately. We ran the test and the batt came back good, but I've learned that 5yrs for a batt in a car that spends a majority of winter outside, might be a good time to replace it. Trish also agreed that the test was no guarantee against harsher weather. So, after purchasing a good batt with a 5yr warranty, Trish even helped/taught me how to install it in my Toyota Sienna! Great service there and Trish has helped me in the past with picking out new brake rotors and pads. I never feel like I'm getting sold more than I need, and their service is always been on point! I can't believe I haven't written a review for these guys yet. I've been coming here for years and have never had a problem with price or service. But it wasn't until yesterday that I would have bumped a decent 4 star review up to a 5 when I crawled in here with a low battery. Thank goodness for gages, because I was on my way to an appt about 30 miles from my home and very likely would have been stranded had I turned off my truck and tried to start it again later. Anyway, I called Auto Zone in Lockport and asked if by any chance, they'd check the amp level in my truck and they said they did. I pulled up, went inside and told them of my problem. Right away, the gentleman behind the counter stepped in the back and grabbed a mobile amp meter and followed me to my vehicle. A quick test off the terminals and found that the battery wouldn't hold a charge any longer. Checking my history here, he found that it was under a "buy back" warranty and so, I had $50 deducted from a replacement. SCORE! The best news? They replaced it for me right there in the parking lot! I didn't have to do a thing and was still able to make my appointment that same morning. I truly don't see how you can get better customer service than that. Great job, Auto Zone. I don't really write a lot of reviews, but this one is a must! I'd like to give them 5 stars for OUTSTANDING customer service! They definitely take the time to help you out. Alex (I believe that's his name, because he really deserves all the credit here!) went above and beyond to help me with problems that I was experiencing with my headlight. I decided to purchase a bulb at Auto Zone in hopes to find a mechanic friend to replace it (new sonata headlights are tricky). I like how a customer is automatically acknowledged and/or approached and asked if they need assistance. Alex ended up helping me figure out the correct bulb, took the time to replace the bulb (wasn't busy at the time) & taught me how to do it for future references. It shows that Auto Zone doesn't hire just anybody- they hire knowledgeable employees that really do care. If you ever need any help with anything car related or need any advice on options, parts, etc, these guys are the best! I'll deff be returning for any future auto purchases. We shop this store as often as possible because we like to help support the neighborhood businesses. However, time and again the prices here are always on the extreme high side. Yesterday, paid almost twice for HEET here as my wife paid at Wal-Mart. Service is always so-so, register was down so had to leave without a receipt. All they have here is convenience, and even that is hardly worth it anymore. I can see a small difference in price, but almost double.?? That`s just greed. There are other stores. read more
