Somewhere in Mobile, Alabama after a transmission drain & fill at 97K.
Rebeca A.

I said I would return for my differential drain & fill when my Solstice reached 100K miles but the transmission shifted smoother than a hot knife through a stick of butter that I ended up in Miami.

Great service right when i called the first time he was ver knowledgeable and helpful prior to coming here went to 2 different Transmission shops and all they wanted to do is get me for a new ir rebuild transmission @ over 2k with Art he was able to fix the issue and service my transmission for a great price very honest shop definitely my go to place from now on Honest people that are trying to help you not just take your money

Put new Cat converter's on this car passed smog no problem!
David S.

Art is the best he knows his stuff. Done a couple transmissions for me and always has been there. Quick service and great prices. He won't do a repair if it's not needed. Transmissions are his specialty but he does other work. I believe he has free estimates also he recently moved to another shop that is right next to the old one. I took my ChevyS there and my Lincoln's. He also does mufflers and cat converter's best prices in town. Hands-down my go to repair shop.

Repairs completed and no issues there after. Recently, the 2007 trans started leaking. We dropped it off for repair, while it was there they found additional motor leaks. Setting us back a few thousand dollars, but reality - I believe we got what we paid for. We no longer have any leaks, the truck is running great. Overall the service has been great. It sounds like they are offering more than just transmission repair.

It's quite a way from our house, but since it will be a $10K+ investment, we decided to take use them. It was done in a timely manner and we drove out to pick it up. I dropped my husband off and he didn't return for quite a while. Turns out, he got in to drive home and noticed that the A/C wasn't working and they worked on it a bit and got it somewhat working. Since we were leaving on an RV trip and needed the truck, we said we'll bring it back when we return. We had a few back-to-back RV trips planned for the summer, thus wanted the new transmission. We got back, took it in...about a week later, was told it's fixed..so drove back out to pick it up. Noticed that A/C on driver's side worked good, but not the passenger side..the fan was very weak and air was not cold. Drove it home anyway as we had another trip in a few days. We are taking it back for the 3rd time now (mind you, the truck runs on diesel and it's almost 50 miles roundtrip every time @ $8+/per gallon!!!). My husband was out of town, so they had almost 2 weeks to work on this problem. We just went to pick it up for the very last time (fingers crossed!) yesterday. I offered to wait (learned my lesson!!), but hubby said to drive home, so I did. I find out (again!!!) that he got in the truck to drive home and, this time, noticed that his glove compartment door was missing!!! He said he lost it at that point. He screamed at the incompetency of their service and workers and that he doesn't feel confident about their transmission work which he has no way of checking. We are extremely unhappy about this entire ordeal and would never recommend this place to anyone.

About a year and a half ago, they recommended replacing part of my front suspension (I believe the struts). When I picked up my truck, it had a loud clunking noise over every bump. I took it back, and the owner rode with me, heard the noise, and had it corrected. After that, the clunking was gone. A short time later, I started hearing a metallic clanking from the left rear of the truck. When I looked underneath, I found a hammer lodged near the rear axle housing that had been left behind during the repair. I removed it and returned it to the shop. The employee simply thanked me--no apology or acknowledgment that leaving a tool on a customer's vehicle was unacceptable. Then, about two weeks ago, I brought my truck in for a routine oil change and tire rotation. About a week later, I noticed one of my rear wheel center caps was missing. Since the center cap is retained by the lug nuts, it doesn't simply fall off, I am sure they forgot to put it on when they rotated my tires. I called the shop, but they said they weren't aware of forgetting to put on my Toyota center cap, nor do they have one sitting around that may be mine. As a result, I'm shopping on eBay to replace it. Not good..!! I don't know what has changed, but the attention to detail at Alonso's isn't what it used to be. Unfortunately, they've lost my business. I can't recommend them anymore. If you do choose to use them, inspect your vehicle carefully before you leave. I should have done the same instead of driving off after a service and assuming I received the same quality service I'd experienced for so many years.

I usually try to do some of the DIY maintenance stuff and leave the heavy lifting to the professionals. I had a leak in my evaporator system, somewhere, I replaced everything that I could think of, but I was still getting a 'check engine' light. That's when I decided to call Dave... I mean Riley. She explained the process of performing a diagnostic test and the charge. If any repairs were required and done she would credit me whatever the balance from the difference was. Perfect! Well she and her crew were able find and fix the problem. No more check engine light and the car runs great! If you're in search of a trustworthy mechanic I would recommend this place. Riley was nice and friendly and very professional. She always kept me informed on the status of my car. I know that's what she is supposed to do but not everyone does it. This is an independently owned shop and this a small business. So please support small businesses. Thanks for your interest. Please be kind and take care.
