Capital Tint and Graphics - Every window had specs like this

    Capital Tint and Graphics

I went to Capital Tint and Graphics to have my 2022 Tesla Model 3 tinted. When scheduling the…read moreappointment over the phone I was told that I would be able to drop off and pick up the same day. Upon dropping the vehicle off and confirming that I would be able to pick the vehicle up later that day I was told "Yeah, that's not going to happen." Therefore I had to leave my vehicle over night. I went to pick up my vehicle the following morning and immediately discovered numerous imperfections (large bubbles, debris trapped under tint, sunlight gaps where the tint wasn't cut properly, etc.). I asked to speak with someone in regard to the imperfections and the associate that tinted the vehicle looked over the vehicle with me. He immediately acknowledged the imperfections and advised me that he would get me in to replace the tint that needed to be replaced, thus needing to make a second appointment. I made the second appointment but soon came to the realization that I could not bring my vehicle back and except it to be done correctly. I contacted the shop and requested a refund at which time I was told the would not issue a refund without removing the tint. I kept my second appointment scheduled, they remove the tint, and issued the refund. I then went to a new tint shop where a pre-tint inspection occurred. During said inspection, it was discovered that when Capital Tint and Graphics removed the tint that they installed, they peeled my rear window defroster off of my rear glass, thus damaging the entire rear glass. I again contacted them and advised them of the discovery at which time I was told to obtain quotes to have the rear glass replaced. I obtained a quote from my local Tesla Service Center ($1,100) and Safelite ($800). I advised Capital Tint of the quotes and my desire to use my local Tesla Service Center and was immediately met with confrontation. I was advised they would write me a check for $850 and nothing more. Furthermore, I was advised that if I didn't take the check for $850, they would take their chances of me taking them to small claims court. I ultimately decided to cut my losses and took the check for $850. I cannot in good faith recommend this business to anyone. This experience demonstrated their utter incompetence and unprofessionalism. Stay far away from this business.

DO NOT GO HERE FOR TINT!! I have had tint installed by a few different people over the years and…read morethis is by far the worst job I have ever seen! I had all 5 windows plus my sun roof done and it looked like garbage from day one. They said I had to wait two weeks for the water to bake out from behind the tint and if there was still an issue they would fix it under their warranty. After 2 weeks every single piece of glass had 15-40+ specs all throughout the tint. A few places even had some bigger bubbles in them. I went back to have them fix it and they looked at the car and showed them that every piece had issues and needed to be redone. They agreed to fix it so I made an appointment and was told they needed the car for 6 hours to peel and reinstall. I went and picked my car back up only to see that it looked just as bad as before and they did not redo the tint. I asked what they did and was told they just redid the two front windows which were actually the two with the least amount of imperfections other than the huge gap at the top of the driver's window. Also while doing a shit job at fixing the tint they managed to kill the battery in my car as well. After having the car for 6 hours and not fixed any of the issues I had to stand around for 20 min for someone to even acknowledge I was there to pick up the car. Today I was able to roll down the driver's window that they claimed they peeled and reinstalled. They either A. Lied to me and didn't do anything to the existing tint but make it have larger bubbles in it than when I dropped it off. Or B. They installed the tint incorrectly a second time in the exact same way they did the first time. The driver's window has almost a 1/2" gap at the top of the window just the same way it did when I dropped it off to be fixed. These guys will just lie to you, waste your time and leave you with a shit product.

This pep Boys has been my Pep Boys for years now, ever since my old mechanic left the area about 6…read moreyears ago. I've gone to Keith, Bill, Jason, and the rest for everything from brakes to inspections and I laugh at people that even remotely think that their time is somehow more valuable than those they are entrusting with their safety as well as the safety of their family members. If you take 5 mins to run through my inspection I may actually be sort of a skeptic of whether or not any of the work you were supposed to do was actually ever performed. Oh, you need time to pull the wheels to inspect my brakes? OK Oh, you're checking to make sure the wipers that keep my windshield clean are working properly? OK Wait, this isn't fast food and I am going to wait to get proper service? OK I actually understand and comprehend that all these things take time and those trained to do this job are the safe net that ensures that as I travel from A to B that I not only get there safely, but they are not or have never sold me something I did not actually need... How can you say that and be sure of that statement, Carmine? Well, I'm glad you asked! I had a Grand Am that was my baby as most that know me know, great car, nearing classic in age...and over the years as I needed work done, I went to the boys. I thought I needed rear brake work done since I had previously had my front everything worked on; pads, rotors, calipers, blah blah blah... So anyway I brought my baby in and was under the assumption I was going to need about $300+ worth of rear work done. I told Bill to do what needed to be done and to give me a call when they were done. I no sooner got back to my house when my phone rang and Bill told me that if I wanted to that I could come pick up my car anytime. I was surprised with how soon they had called and he told me that it needed a simple brake tuneup that would cost me less than $30 instead of the $300 or so that I thought I was going to spend. Yeah, this is why I go to this particular Pep Boys, because the guys here have always taken care of my needs and have never gouged me on a repair I did not need. I just brought a friend of mine there with a 1997 Town Car Limited Edition...beautiful car with some rare and discontinued parts (the thing apparently has multiple cables in the emergency brakes alone), the boys had to hunt and search and are still seeking out one cable that Lazare Lincoln can't even get because now they must search salvage and used parts to be able to complete the inspection...these guys are currently on the hunt to complete a job and to make it right. THAT is a quality work ethic...trust me, I could save time and distance going elsewhere but I'm willing to travel a little to ensure it's getting done right.

Worst experience at a shop by far. Failed inspection a vehicle in working order for "rust on the…read morerotor" and said the vehicle would need all new brakes and rotors. Failed a second vehicle with 12k miles for a tiny line of rust on the back rotor. When questioned, the service advisor's excuse was "it's up to the inspectors discretion", a corporate translation of "We decide if we want to fail you to scam you on unnecessary repairs". Don't fall for their bullcrap and certainly do not bring your vehicle here. Someone really ought to do the hidden camera exposure on this place where a mechanic runs through the vehicle and then exposes all the scammed upsells!

He spent hours trying to figure it out, tried a few things and without luck, told me he had to do some more homework. Returned again and spent another 2-3 hours and told me to try a TCM approved company like Empire. Instead I called a company a little bit closer to me (Empire is an hour away) and they sent out a Tech. Their tech spent 2 hours, and told me i needed Coils, Sparks Plugs and a relay because the machine was getting no spark. I spent $300 on parts, and the tech came back two days later. He also spent two hours the first time, and another two hours the second time, and still could not get it started. He wanted to tow my forklift into their service center and tear it down and figure out the issue. I also had my normal Forklift guy come in and talk with the second tech and try to brainstorm together. They believed it was a computer ECM related issue ($800 module by the way). So now i'm pretty frustrated and worried that this machine is going to cost me a lot of money to fix. So I finally called Empire, and spoke to Guy in service. He said he had a tech who was finishing up a job close by, and he would send him over to me in an hour. I told Guy that his tech will need a scan tool, because the other two techs think its computer related. Guy was confident in his mans work and said "don't worry, my tech doesn't need a computer, he'll have it running for you" I was reluctant at this point, but what do i have to lose? Well Tim showed up and after less THAN AN HOUR HAD MY MACHINE RUNNING AGAIN!!!! I was amazed to say the least. Tim listened to my issues and I explained what the other two techs had told me and what I knew from watching. He went to the basics, checked the vaporizer, made sure there was fuel, and when he saw new coils and plugs, he went to Crank and Cam Sensors. Installed the new sensors (he had them in his work truck) and BOOM! Machine was running again! Just like that.
