However, things took a turn after the job was done. About a week after the tinting, I rolled my windows down for the first time, and the tint on the driver's side window peeled away. While I understand that things like this can happen and expected an easy fix, it unfortunately became a frustrating process. When I brought up the issue, the great communication I initially experienced completely stopped. It felt like a battle just to get them to acknowledge the problem and agree to fix it. After about a week of trying to get help, I decided to go to the shop in person. Thankfully, I was able to get some assistance, but the second attempt at fixing the tint was even worse than the first. It seems like they didn't clean the window properly before reapplying the tint, as there's visible dirt and old adhesive trapped underneath. While the staff was friendly at the beginning, the lack of follow-through and attention to detail on the repair left me disappointed. I really wanted to give this shop a glowing review because the initial impression was so positive, but unfortunately, the outcome and poor communication after the issue arose left me dissatisfied. I hope they improve their processes for addressing issues in the future.

It typically takes 3-4…read moredays for the job they are doing (or not doing) and have given numerous excuses why it's taking so long. The time it's taking has nothing to do with parts or the vehicle it has to do with their work ethic and lack of hiring decent mechanics. I would never recommend them nor speak well of them again. What would one do if this was their only vehicle? Rent, walk, Uber? Meanwhile we will pay a fortune and suffer the wear and tear and other costs of using another vehicle. No loss to them though. Anyone that's rating their service better didn't have major work done. An update is necessary, I was really upset at the time it took but now I understand better. We received the car back yesterday and today it was leaking fluid again (no fault of AAMCO) and we had to return to the shop. I was really angry and probably a bit ridiculous. Paul did come out to speak to us and explained the problem and I became more familiar. We are a one car family without the vehicle things have been extremely hectic. Paul offered a rental until the problem was fixed and that was very kind of him. I appreciate his understanding of our situation and his offer to help. I would say I may recommend them, but I whole heartedly hope that we don't have to have such work done again. Thank you Paul. I do have to say that you don't look like the Paul I'm familiar with however. Not to be offensive.

-- Promised turnaround: 2 weeks. Actual turnaround: 13 weeks. Overall rating: 1 star for excessive…read moredelays, poor communication, and workmanship that left me concerned. Owner Paul Simmons Jr. quoted me two weeks to repair my truck. AAMCO Transmissions in Watertown kept it for THIRTEEN weeks--more than six times the original estimate. This business was great when Paul Sr. ran it. Unfortunately, in my experience, Paul Jr. is running it straight into the ground. The excuses never stopped: "my guys broke another part," emergency room visits, and whatever else was needed to explain why my truck remained stuck there for nearly a quarter of a year. Emergencies happen, but they don't excuse failing to communicate or manage a customer's vehicle responsibly. My truck sat untouched and unmoved for so long that the tires started developing flat spots. I brought it in for repairs, not indefinite storage. After a few weeks, Paul stopped answering when I called from my number. Yet when friends called from numbers he didn't recognize, he answered immediately. That says everything about how seriously he takes customer communication. I shouldn't have needed to borrow someone else's phone just to get an update about my own truck. This cost us far more than transportation. Without the truck, we couldn't use our boat, and my family and dog lost an entire summer of outings together. A dog may only get around a dozen summers with its family, and every one of them matters. In my eyes, Paul took one of those summers from us through poor planning, poor communication, and an inability to deliver on a basic two-week promise. We can't get that time back. When I finally got my truck back, I also found damage that was not there when I dropped it off: a dent in the truck bed and a crack in the driver-side headlight lens, with condensation inside. I cannot say exactly when or how the damage occurred, but it wasn't like that when I dropped it off. After all that waiting, I found silicone squeezing out around the transmission pan gasket. Seeing it on the outside leaves me seriously concerned about how much may have been forced inside. After thirteen weeks, I expected professional workmanship--not something that looked rushed, sloppy, or questionable. Nothing about this experience suggested top-tier workmanship or competent management. It's no wonder this shop doesn't appear to have top-tier mechanics. Who would want to work for an owner who seems to have more excuses than solutions? The entire operation felt disorganized, dismissive, and completely indifferent to the time and inconvenience imposed on the customer. A two-week promise became a thirteen-week ordeal: an idle truck, flat-spotting tires, unanswered calls, questionable workmanship, newly noticed damage, and a stolen summer for my family. Excuses were abundant. Accountability was nonexistent. Results were nowhere near what was promised. If you value your time, your vehicle, your family plans, or being treated with basic respect, take your business elsewhere. I wouldn't trust this shop with a lawn mower, let alone a transmission. There is no need for Paul to respond to this review. Everything I've described is based on my experience, and another response will likely be nothing more than another excuse or an empty apology.

Midas gave me a whole list of things that needed to be fixed which was a total of $2k in repairs. I believed them even tho the car was showing no signs of having problems. I took my car in a second time to have the brakes changed since they said they needed to be replaced which was a cost of $540, when I got my car back I started noticing a weird sound coming from my tires. I then brought my car in again to get the thermostat and cam shaft sensors fixed since they said it needed fixing, I told them about the sound I had been hearing in my tires ever since they changed my brakes and they said they will take a look at it. I took the car in at 1130 and waited all day, it wasn't until 5pm when I went back and asked for an update and they then told me that they broke something in the car so the car had to stay overnight because it was going to take a while to get the piece they got stuck in there out. They gave me a loan car at no cost and was told I can pick my car up the next day. The next day I went and paid $909 for those repairs, they told me nothing was wrong with the brakes so I took my car home but I noticed the sound on the tires got way worse. When I turned on my car the next time after taking it home, my car was having trouble turning on. I took the car back to Midas to get it looked at because that sound in the tired was horrible and my car kept sputtering trying to turn on. They told me they took the car apart and nothing was wrong with the brakes again but that they found a new issue with the car that was going to be a $1k repair. The day after they checked the car, I am driving down the freeway and my car starts beeping and a light turned on in the dash so I immediately pulled over and noticed smoke coming out of the front of my car. We were ready to get the car towed when luckily a police officer pulled behind us and took a look at the car and noticed the tube that connects the coolant to the engine was not plugged in which caused all of my coolant to leak out. My car was not perfect when I took it to Midas but ever since they touched my car, my car has been worse off. I genuinely feel like they have been ripping me and my husband off, and rather than fixing things they told me was wrong, they have broken my car.
