I lose some times/money so I can be on time in my appointment at 4pm, sadly they didn't start working on my truck around 5:30pm.... Yes they did told me that I have to wait at least 1 + hrs for them to even take a look at it due to a new guy being trained on. But my point is why even take an appointment if you don't follow.. and yes I can't reschedule it coz I already used my personal time off work so yeah,,, this shop is crazy, they made lose money by clocking out early from work and two hours of my life that I will never get back... The prices are great The people are very friendly and knowledgeable Seating/waiting area are as expected (nothing special) Parking is tight (probably tighter in the winter) Appointment times... That's a whole other story. If you make an appointment, ensure that you ask whomever you're speaking with, if your vehicle will be going directly into the bay to be worked on and ask how long it will take for the service. If you don't, you might be waiting 3+ hrs for your appointment before any work is done. My service should of been an hour tops, not almost 4 hrs for a 1 hour job. That's not how appointments should be conducted, you have scheduled and unscheduled services dedicated teams and bays. Workload will be heavy one way or the other (depending on the day) and you can shift your people onto the higher workload as needed (I get that) but you don't push back on the scheduled appointment times just because you have walk-in customers, it defeats the whole purpose of making an appointment in the first place. If you are having customers that often miss their appointments and that's why you prioritize the walk-ins, then you either call those customers back 2 hrs or so before their appointment as a reminder/check or you call the folks who have appointments and notify them that there will be a longer waiting period and to come at a particular time. Expectation management is a real thing and should be taken seriously. Always have a dedicated bay and person/team for scheduled services/appointments, it's easy to see because you should/will have the schedule typically the day before or at least before closing. Mavis has to get their scheduling back on track, your customers are busy as well and can easily go to another shop instead if you can't meet certain standards. Lucky there's a nice little diner down the street that you can go to and waste an hour or so (highly recommend). I also recommend asking a friend for a pickup and a drop off. Sorry it's 3/5 for now and I won't be making any future appointments at Mavis until there's a response back. Had an appointment at 10:30am for tire rotation and 1 tire change but I didn't get seen until 10:47. When people make appointments is because we have other things to do instead of just walking in maybe they should have an appointment line and a non appointment. But other than that really friends and okay prices. read more

I needed four tires after two had server damage. They were able to get me in last minute, about an hour before they closed so I thought leaving a great review was the least I could do to show my appreciation. Everyone that works here wanted to help me so I definitely recommend Mavis! read more

Came back again to get some tires and wheels mounted in my car without having an appointment and was again helped diligently, the ​price was okay but the customer service is superb. read more

I had an appointment at 1000 am. I was informed after I arrived that they would not be able to get to me, they were backed up. This happened to several other folks. Poor planning on their part, I couldn't get my badly needed services. I could have made it else where and been seen.... disappointed. read more

Ok I never do this but at this point I'm a little frustrated.. My husband bought brand new tires for his truck approximately 8 to 9 months ago. For the first couple of months he has had to bring his truck back because one tire continues to lose air. They were very friendly and helpful by getting him right in and claiming that they've fixed the issue but the tire would continue to lose air within the next couple of weeks. None of the other tires would do that. In April of this year he took it back to let them and they claimed they fixed the issue again. He left for deployment and approximately one month after he left, the tire light was on again. I then took the tire to firestone that stated that the tire wasn't properly sealed. It seemed as if it work for approximately one month as I was now learning how to ensure the tires had air. I took the truck to Chevy and they told me that there wasn't a leak and that maybe it was a bad tire and tried to sale me a new set of tires. They assisted in ensuring that all tires were properly balanced and had the right air in it. I've continued to put air in the tire for the next couple of months as I don't drive his truck too often while he's gone. I noticed that I am now having to add air to the tire about once a week now. I decided to take it to back to Mavis and let them know and to see if I can just get another tire. I was told that they can't replace the tire if it's something they can fix. So they took it back in the shop and said that they had to reseal it as air was leaking around the rim. He said it should be good now and that overtime the air will go out with weather change. I thought to myself "shouldn't it happened to all the tires and how much time does it take for me to have to add air". So as I'm driving to work this morning the air pressure light is back on saying please add air to the same tire. This is the very next day, and I'm here asking them to please give me a different tire as it's very frustrating for a person that knows nothing about vehicles to make daily trips to the shop so they can add air. Very friendly guy then says " I'll stand out there while they look at it as they always do a good job when a white shirt is in the shop". Not sure what I have to do to convince them that this tire just may not be a good tire. None of the other tires are doing this. Very nice guys but I don't like staying in a shop for hours at a time daily to get the run around.. read more

Would of been better but, the mechanic is 5 star they are on the ball, did their job great. However, the man running the counter, he could held onto the estimate for an hour after the mechanic was done. In that hours time he answered two phone calls and signed two papers. Neither of which took much time at all, he tends to just stands around and does not do his job, While there my husband asked several times i(n the hour that he had the estimate for) for the estimate to decide if we were going to do it or not, he just kept saying he had been busy, so two phone calls and two signatures that did not take up ten minutes of his time from one hour, and he did not have time to show the estimate? This man is going to loose a lot of business for this place, never been treated this badly in our life, will take our business elsewhere, somewhere the clients count! Please note though, like we said the mechanics are 100 percent on the ball doing their job, the guy at the counter is the one who is not and should be fired! read more

I went to the Arsenal st. location on Sept 8. My 12pm appointment was right on time. They put 2 tires on my car and did an oil change. After I got home, I realized that they did not have the mileage of my car ANYWHERE on the invoice. So, I just bought 2 tires with (supposedly) 60,000 treadwear warranty and no proof of the mileage when I bought them. I called the manager Sonny who tried to e-mail me a proper invoice with the mileage on it, only to have him sent me 2 e-mails without the mileage. So, now I am pissed. I called him back and he said that he was too busy and that he was doing ME a favor. He finally got me a correct invoice. But, he did not seemed very happy. All I wanted was proof of the mileage when I bought the tires. I complained to the corporate phone number and the regional manager called me back. He said that they would have fixed a damaged tire under warranty even without a mileage proof. I told him I did not believe that. I felt like I bought 2 new tires at a retail store and without a proper invoice, I would have had NO warranty on them. Shop at this Mavis location at your own risk. I will never go back there. I probably will never go to any Mavis location again!!! read more

So I dropped my truck off because I had a flat. They had me drop the flat that was where the spare should have been which wasn't a big deal. But when I got back and they were all done I had tools and a pillow and a sleeping bag back there, and they threw the spare tire on my tools and pillow, so I was a little annoyed with that but no big deal. I got it out and put the spare underneath the truck. Got my truck home and found out that they didn't tighten my rear drivers side lug nutslol. Go to Carthage tire. They do better work than this "tire shop" read more

Service staff was friendly and knowledgeable. They were able to get me a set of Wrangler All Season, All Terrain tires that I was unable to get through WalMart (good luck with that!). While I did have to wait a little longer to have them put the tires on because of a delay to the delivery truck, they were kind enough to store my vehicle in their service bay so it was not outside overnight. We have used this location in the past and been pleased with their service. read more

I went to Cole Muffler around 4 months ago to have the right front wheel bearing replaced. Recently I noticed the same noise happening again on the right side, so I took it back in. They called me an hour later and gave me a list of repairs that needed to be done. Front pads/rotors, struts, stabilizer links, shocks, power steering fluid, and you guessed it, the right front wheel bearing totaling up to a nice $1500, which I could gladly finance through them interest free for 6 months, and then 28% interest after and that they could take care of it all that day. I mentioned that my wheel bearing had just been replaced 4 months BY THEM and at first said they would fix it for $45, which was a discount from the normal $90 they charge. They said because the part was past a 90 day warranty, I would have to pay. After complaining, they decided they would cover it in full. As for thee rest of the repair list, I decided to take my car to a shop that I used to go to before I moved. Garage #2 didn't want me to tell them what I was told was wrong and after conducting their own inspection, we would compare lists. The attendant told me that a control arm would need to be replaced at some point in the future. He asked to see my list and said, "I don't see where any of this needs to be replaced at all." The attendant did a double check on my vehicle (a 2006 Pontiac G6) and once again reassured me that nothing needed to be done to my car. I asked about the power steering fluid as Mavis told me that it "looked like tar" and "should be red" and once again, Garage #2 reassured me that it was fine. I had done business with Mavis a few times before and never really had an issue. After this last experience, I will never go to this garage again and will steer anyone away from it. read more

I gave this company a "second chance" after having a horrible experience at the Arsenal St location back in May; decided this time I would use the State St location instead. Still a mistake! Went to have one tire repaired. They "fixed" the wrong tire. Then when I brought it to there attention, the explanation was, "Well, that tire was bad." It was not - in fact it had just been replaced back in May by their other location! Then to "prove it" to me, they showed me "my" tire that they had removed. It was a tire that was destroyed, showing severe uneven wear and the plies underneath where the tread had been. HOWEVER, IT WAS NOT THE TIRE THAT CAME OFF MY CAR! I knew this because I have never, in my life, bought a Goodyear tire, and that was what the mechanic was showing me. When I pointed this out they insisted it was my tire, and even made a show of trying to see if they mistakenly grabbed the wrong one, but they were sure that there were no other tires of the same size there. I even pointed out that all the rest of the tires on my vehicle were all the same cheaper brand that I was asking them to replace the damaged tire with at this appointment, not Goodyear. Why would I have randomly decided to buy and mount a random Goodyear tire..... Livid with this company for taking advantage of me again, and thinking I was stupid enough to not see the SCAM they were pulling! I ended up paying for another tire, but only because at that point I was forced to, if I wanted to leave. You better believe that this doesn't end there. They will be hearing from me shortly, they won't like it, and I will NEVER use Mavis ever again. Shadiest managers and employees I have EVER encountered! read more

I've only been to Mavis tire twice now but I highly recommend them! The staff is very nice and friendly, they keep you updated on your vehicle and they have a TV set up for you to enjoy while you wait! Yes there are shops closer to where I live but I would happily make the drive to them! read more

Called and scheduled an appointment for an NYS Safety Inspection because I was told I would not have to wait if I made an appointment...arrived and shop had no record of my appointment. An hour and a half later the tech told me that the vehicle would not pass. When I asked what the issues were he told me that the battery was "leaking pretty bad" and started to quote me a price and give me the warranty details on a new one. I asked if the battery electrolyte had failed the test...he said no - the cranking amps were "pretty low." I asked what the CCA needed to be to pass inspection...at which point he told me the battery was not part of the NYS Safety Inspection. I was out the door at that point, but decided to quiz him further on the other elements that had failed. It didn't get any better. He told me the rear pads and rotors were shot, I asked how far beyond the NYS standard the pads and rotors were...he couldn't tell me. I should not need to know as much about cars as I do to get a fair shake for a safety inspection. No one should. read more

Had appointment for 8am. Just needed 4 tires replaced. Told it would be one hour. Went for a walk for one hour. When I returned my car was in the air with all tires off and no one was working on it. As soon as I walked in I was told my brakes are shot. It appears that they stopped working on my car to tell me this. I had my phone with me so they could contact me if need be. I told them no thanks just put the tires on. My car still sat up in the air for another hour. I'm not saying the work is not good, I don't know. What I am saying is that my time is valuable to me and it is worth it to pay $150more at the dealership next time. Would rather to be honest with me about how long it would take then to have my other plans for the day be thrown off because they pull multiple cars into thier nay with limited staff to work on them read more

Went there on a Saturday..to have some work done. I was told to go to them by 2 people since I need work done on my car and didn't know of some well trusted places. When I was there, the manager was the one that was handling my car and he was great kept me informed told me how long it would take...I think I was in there for bout an hour. The price was great...I had my step daughter with me the manager gave her 2 balloons and talked with her. I will go back to get tires and other work done on my car and recommend them to other people when they need tires and/or car repairs. read more

Friendly service and great prices only reason I gave a 4 is because they do an inspection in an hour I've had it done in 15 minutes.

Came here to buy a set of new all weather tires, the employee suggested a particular brand of tire I had no idea about and it was much better than the brand of tire I had in mind costed a bit more but it's much worth it...also got an alignment done with the tire swap, they managed to get it all done within 45 minutes I was surprised how fast they did it with the fact two other customers were ahead of me, I was greatly satisfied read more
