I purchased a battery at Advance Auto Parts this past March and it has a two year warranty. My mint condition Ford Mustang Convertible stalled out on me as I was attempting to cross a dangerous intersection, however, I managed to make it to a shoulder, had to call Triple A, good Samaritans stopped and in a nutshell, the guess was the battery was bad. Car had to be towed to mechanic, mechanic did diagnostic test and said it was bad battery. I called the local Bear, Delaware to explain and they told me that even with my receipt and warranty being good, I would need to go back to the mechanic's shop, pick up the battery, bring it to them, they would have to "test" it and make sure it was "bad" and not the alternator, etc., and determine if it it was "returnable" for a new battery. Who in the hell has time for this nonsense and poor customer service? Do not every buy a battery from Advance Auto Parts! I was told that "unfortunately, the burden is on the customer"! They will never see me again as a customer. This was my first time buying a drive thru battery from a low life retailer who thinks it should be the customer's job to prove a product they sell is bad. Advance Auto Parts should be ashamed of themselves as a company and their undercut and screw the customer policy/warranty! read more

I don't know what it is about the general manager here but he's got a just a terrible customer service approach and attitude. If anything doesn't go exactly the way it should he gets upset and he blames the customer for his attitude. I think it's interesting that a man who has a business that has to deal so closely with customers, is the kind of guy who is older and grumpy and really should stay in the back office? Both times I went here I got what I needed but I didn't feel good when I left. Don't question the older manager please! Just go to AutoZone if you can because most of the time it's right across the street. LOL. read more

I met the first employee on the phone. I was made to wait a long period of time by a rude employee who kept putting me on hold " okay?" until I was so frustrated I said "No, it's not okay... I just want to know when you close tonight" He rudely shouted "8:30!!" and hung up on me. Well the next day I had to drive by there and got to meet the next employee. Inept and disinterested. Thankfully Bryanna rescued me. She was outstanding! This girl knew her stuff. She really put the guy I was talking to to shame. She went out of her way to help me find the product I needed , demonstrated how to use it ( Pentex Headliner Adhesive) and quickly found the bulbs I wanted. She also ran a computerized check on my car and wrote down the findings. She didn't try to sell me anything else or scare me with what she found, just recommended what issues to address first. Well... I went home, eager to fix the hanging areas of liner in my car. And what a mess! I read the instructions three times before using the adhesive and it was a frustrating , sticky and upsetting experience. I was embarrassed with the hanging liners before but now was mortified. I went back to the store to talk to Bryanna and see if she could help me. She could have cared less. She didn't even want to see my car! I had to explain what happened and again asked her to look at my car, hoping she could somehow help me fix this. After barely looking at it she blandly replied , "It was a defective can". What? What are the odds of that?? So she returned my money and refused to compensate me for the ruined gloves I had used and showed her. "You didn't get them here". Terrible customer service. I'll never go back. I'll go to AutoZone like I should have. I've never had a problem with them. read more
