Once there, they were not able to help me with getting the code read, so I went to another business in the area. The code was read, but he did not provide me with a code number. Feeling like I didn't really get any assistance, I headed to Christiana Auto Parts. I was greeted and immediately assisted, providing me with the code number. I let him know that my son is a mechanic was at work that day and just needed the code. He asked if he could look under the hood, I agreed and he started asking questions due to curiosity on what could caused this to happen. He was very determined to find the cause, and asked to speak with my son. They messaged back-and-forth and worked together. This young man went out of his way and very determined to solve this problem. It ended up being a cap on the intake manifold that must've rotted and fallen off. He would not take any money for his efforts. He just seemed satisfied to be able to figure the problem out, reminded me much of my son who is the very same way. When a challenge is presented, it's like finding the missing piece to a puzzle. Bottom line, the courtesy, friendliness, and desire to help me out really impressed me. The only thing he requested is if I ever needed work to be done on my car that my son couldn't do, to come and see him. His name is Tommy, and said he and his father (and I think brother) run this business. I know it has been there for some time, passing by it for years. I only wished I had thought to go there first! I'm telling you, being a woman who has had many car problems in her life, know there are a lot of untrustworthy auto shops out there. I felt this business to be trusted in the short 20-30 minutes I was there! While I don't know the extent of work they do there, but definitely recommend checking into this place! The only problem I had was I didn't get the speakers they recommended and after install I immediately wasn't happy with the sound of the speakers I insisted I wanted and when I called them back to see about getting the ones they recommended instead they were more than happy to let me drop truck off to get them installed. I recently I had a tow hitch package and break controller put on my 2019 Ford Transit work van by Hidden Hitch (Delaware) and it seemed that it was not operating correctly. Every time I released the break of my vehicle, it lurched forward extremely aggressively. I called and asked if they could take a quick look at it, but the person I spoke to became very defensive and and rude. He dismissively said that it wasn't the brake controller and that it is doing it job and that is just how it's going to work. I repeatedly asked if they could just take a quick look at, but he refused to entertain the idea of doing anything to help. Now I have a $1000 tow package they installed that I am afraid to use! just found out i was charged 130 dollars to "clean" the broken turn signal switch. a whole new…read moreswitch is 53 dollars and 2 bolts to change. what an absolute scam..... also was quoted 720 flat fee for valve adjustments (which they didnt do and i had to have re-done 3 weeks later) and was charged 867 dollars for supplies and other BS. was called 4 times by someone to remove my review and called twice by the GM to "talk" but only after i threatened litigation . my cam chain tensioner went bad after 2 weeks and locked my motor up. thankfully there was no catastrophic damage . there is no way ... also was charged 182 dollars for an oil change i was told was 90. every step of the experience was terrible. almost 2 months, never changed the brake pads, said they didnt have time, but made me sign a wavier saying how terrible they were then sold them to me as i was leaving . never adjusted the valves but was charged 900 dollars, never changed the cam chain tensioner just "cleaned" it and it broke 2 weeks later leaving me stranded with a broken engine costing me 290 to be towed 2 hours. J PHILLIPS IS HANDS DOWN THE LAZIEST, WORST TECHNICIAN ALIVE. whoever runs service is a scam artist. whole company is terrible. my dad bought about 8 dirtbikes off the showroom floor when we raced growing up . never had a bad experience until about 2019. everything is about how much they can get out of you with the least service possible
