I would definitely not recommend Advance Asphalt. I had them here to do my driveway and my neighbor had their driveway done all well. have been calling since February 2025. It is now the end of October 2025 to come and fix cracks in my driveway. They have been ignoring my phone calls and not getting back to me. This is how you treat customers very poor judgment. I'll be calling the Better Business Bureau against them. I spent enough money having my driveway done. I expect it to be fixed. read more

EDIT: William showed up ringing my doorbell and calling my phone off the hook at 7am the morning after I posted this review. I texted him to please leave as I was busy feeding my infants and he continued to call and call. If you're having a hard time getting William to come fix any issues, posting a review is apparently a great way to get his attention. Last summer William's uncle (so I'm told) showed up to my door claiming to have extra asphalt from a job nearby and would pave a top coat on my driveway for a discounted price. I was also told they would tear up and re-level the driveway by my house to redirect rainwater. The crew showed up and started the work without giving me a quote, which I asked for multiple times, and never tore up any of my driveway. They just kept saying "don't worry, we'll take care of you". After they completed the job, I found out from another company that I got charged almost double what I would have paid from them, so that deal was actually a ripoff. After closer inspection I found uneven lines up to half an inch left from the steam roller, edges that were never cleaned up/compressed and have since started to crumble, boot marks, and weeds growing through and pushing up asphalt in some spots. There are also spots where there is only about half an inch of asphalt and is rough compared to the rest of the driveway. When I told William I felt like I got scammed he quickly lost his temper and asked "did my uncle put a gun to your head!?". Over the course of about 8 weeks he said he'd come fix some of the issues, but then just kept not showing up and giving me BS excuses when I asked him what happened. I now have a huge crack down the middle of my driveway where ants are pulling dirt through. I asked William about fixing these cracks and was told I would need to get the driveway seal coated. When I asked about the 2 year guarantee on cracks stated on the invoice, William told me the warranty is void if I don't seal coat within the first 5 months, which goes against any recommendation I've read online and is not something he ever mentioned nor was it written on my invoice. It's also worth noting William was smoking a joint while paving my driveway, and while I normally wouldn't care, it's pretty unprofessional. read more

This morning Bill from Advanced Asphalt stopped by our office in Los Angeles asking if we would like the massive pothole in our driveway repaired as he had "extra asphalt from a previous job that he would like to use and to keep his guys busy".. Overall these guys did a great job, I'm hoping the finish lasts as long as they said it would, about 8-10 years depending on the traffic in our driveway. It looks great and completely filled in the wheel sized pothole in the entrance of our driveway. One thing I would say is to be sure you get the price in writing before they begin the work, and be stern on the area you want done and pricing where the work is to be performed. I feel like the price changed so many times which seems reflected here in some of the other reviews. The only negative was once they left there was empty water bottles, starbucks cups and dirty asphalt rags left behind in the area where the equipment was parked in our parking lot. It was a bummer to pay $1700 and then have to go out and clean up the mess left behind by the crew. read more

Awful job. Sinkholes everywhere. There's a reason they come in cheaper than everyone else. They did a terrible job. Came back to fix sinkholes, only patched them instead of redoing job. When they came back, they then attempted to charge me $800 to sealcoat it. Two days later another three sinkholes appeared. Do not go with these guys. All of the chalk circles in the pics are sinkholes. Spend more and get it done right. read more

When the job was first done, it looks beautiful three months later weeds began to pop through the asphalt. I have been on and off the phone with them for over three years now and nothing has been done. I understand the two year warranty has run out, but I have been complainingfor three years of the three years that I have had the driveway they sent someone out to repair it. What all lousy job and they charged me more to repair it so if I were you, I would absolutely not use this company and look for somebody else I am elderly I am a veteran, and these people took advantage of me. read more

Advance Asphalt did a great job on a mill and overlay asphalt driveway at our home. The crew was timely, organized, hard-working and respectful. We have a tricky driveway with large ornamental trees. No damage was done to the trees. William/owner discussed all aspects of the job with my husband and delivered as promised at a reasonable price. read more

It's very interesting that I'm having similar issues as others. Advance Asphalt did my driveway about a year ago. Shortly after, I started getting holes in the driveway and ants coming up and leaving dirt piles. I've called William multiple times and he hasn't returned any of my calls. A person I talked to at the company said he would call me back as well, but he hasn't. That person also mentioned that he had said "what does he want me to do". Also of note is that the person I initially talked to prior to the work said that I would not have to do a sealcoat. I would not suggest using Advance Asphalt for your paving needs. read more

Completed an asphalt paving service for a neighbor and, upon completion of that job, knocked on the door a 78-year-old woman with a "cold call" offer. Bill stated that he could use the remaining asphalt to pave my driveway and two (2) walkways for a "good price." He stated that he would pave her driveway and two (2) walkways with three (3) inches of asphalt for $1500. We then agreed that you'd complete the job at a rate of $1400. He proceeded to perform the service on the same date. When he began the job, he told her that you could only do one (1) of the walkways because the second walkway had stones. She told him that she could rake the stones up so that he could complete the second walkway as quoted. He spoke with his partner (possibly his dad) and conveyed to her that his partner said they'd have to put stone dust down and that that would cost an extra $200-$300. She did not agree to this additional cost because the initial price quoted already included both walkways which he saw prior to giving her a quote. He began the job and when he was approximately 50% of the way through the driveway, he stated that the machine ran out of asphalt and he had to complete the remainder of the job by hand. This created a major visual variation on the driveway and the asphalt that he applied by hand was very bumpy, rough, and with a visually different appearance from the asphalt applied by machine. He then ran out of asphalt and did not complete the job, with approximately 25% of the drive remaining unpaved leaving a clear demarcation between the completed portion and incomplete portion. The service quoted was for an application of three (3) inches of asphalt, but three (3) inches was not applied. She told him that the job was incomplete and that he was to complete the entire driveway to the end of the driveway to the fence line. He stated that that portion of her driveway was the "city's property" and that you'd be fined by the city if you did that. She repeated that that portion of the driveway is her property and it must be completed. He then stated that when he had extra asphalt you'd come back to finish the job. He has not returned since. The condition in which he left this 78-year-old woman's driveway is unacceptable and the second walkway that was in the initial quote has not been started. Unfortunately, to her regret, she paid in full for the service with the understanding and believe that he would, in fact, return as he stated he would. She is a 78-year-old woman who lives alone and we believe he took advantage of her. This is especially disappointing because your website states that you offer "senior discounts" to lure in other unsuspecting, vulnerable seniors. read more

I would not recommend them to do anything when I look out my stairs it looks like a patch job have high and low spots, I told him to do rear walkway to stairs they ran out of material so said this was better . I also told them in driveway could remove ramp and they didn't and no asphalt there I have stopped payment on check until they fix it ruff spots and high and lows . I do NOT recommend because they refused to finish the job we agreed to, and that I paid in full for. If anything, NEVER pay them the full amount until the job is complete. I have never experienced a company that lacks professionalism quite like Advance Asphalt does. It is a family run company that continuously throws other family members under the bus trying to dodge responsibility to simply finish the job we all agree on. read more

Be careful when hiring this company. First of all, we shopped around and got a couple of quotes and decided on a different company. However, Advance Asphalt ended up calling back and offering to price match. When they arrived, I was approached by the owners nephew who kept making comments of how they we're going to lose money on this job and kept asking who my other quote was from, even though we already had established that through email. When the paving was finished, they not only left without cleaning their trash, but did not let us know how long to remain off of the driveway and no bill was left. The next morning I receive a text asking "when can I get the check." It was my understanding they took cards but he informed me they do not. I explained I just needed a few hours to go get money since I wasn't even home, but little did I know he was sitting in my driveway. Talk about creepy and unprofessional! Take that for what you will.
