Their customer service is disgraceful! Can never get it up and running properly, no monitoring whatsoever. Biggest mistake I ever made. If you do get to talk with someone, they are unable to speak coherent English and they have no clue what they are talking about! I hate Adt read more

ADT reached out to us because of this review. Our contract wasn't forged, my husband signed it via docusign. However, where he signed he did not believe he signed the part agreeing to a 5 year contract. He was verbally promised that there was no contract timeline or commitment. Conclusion at ADT their word means nothing, read and understand what you are signing. If you sign page 1, you are basically signing all of the pages of the contract. There was no offer or negotiation to let us out of our contract (other than to pay the next 3 years in full) because their representative lied to us. read more

If you're thinking of signing up with ADT, DON'T! Their equipment sucks and they don't warranty anything. The technicians are nice but the company sucks! read more

Stay away from ADT. Pathetic company. Customer service is worthless. Think about it, if they offered a stellar service & wonderful customer service why would they have a 5 year contract ?? Adt sucks, that's why they have to lock you into a crazy long contract. Job loss, illness, etc. there is no terms for acceptable early termination. DO NOT SIGN UP FOR ADT read more

I have had 6 different systems with ADT in Wilmington between businesses, rental properties and my home. Let me tell you the company is a dumpster fire. Corporate is rude when you call and the local office is like relying to buy a used car. Depending on the day, the price quotes can swing 10 dollars per month either way. I just had the latest debacle with them this week and it will be my last. My service was canceled by accident and they tried to "sell" me on a new service as the solution. Unreal!!! I will start to research other companies and slowly get rid of my existing services with them. Still waiting on a call back from Chad Smith and it appears no one has a phone number for Norris Lamb. I guess his employees only contact him via email. :) I guess thst is why he doesn't get many complaints. You aren't allowed to call him to complain. read more

The company doesn't respond. They don't take care of equipment, can't install equipment as contracted. They put up cameras with zip ties. Please use another company.. read more

Not satisfied at all with their customer service. They care more about collecting money than they do about actually performing services that are helpful and needed in emergency type situations. The local Wilmington office are extremely good at making excuses ( except for 2 installers who care ). read more

There should be a choice for negative stars! ADT service is poor and customer service is almost nonexistent. I accidentally triggered an alart and 45 minutes later ADT called wanting to know if everything was ok. $% MINUTES LATER!!!!! I told them I could have been dead by the time they called and then hung up, I guess to punish me they sent 2 police officers to my home. I will be yanking their crap out of my house just as soon as I can cancel that no-good monitoring service. I should have stayed with SimpliSafe. read more

Do NOT engage with this nationally known company for any of your home security needs. They are NOT the company they were even 5 or 6 years ago! They have ZERO Customer Service. Instead, you are expected to service your own system - even though you know nothing about it and though you have no problem paying for a service call. Apparently they have no employees. If you call your local ADT number - you're actually reaching a National call center. With all the ADT dealers around the country - THAT'S supposed to be better for the customer??!!! Wait times of nearly an hour......who has that time??!! Online assistant.....over 68 people ahead of you??!!! Meanwhile, you pay a premium for their services. I have invested in security for 2 homes and it is for sure - I am in deep with the cost of an updated system and a new one 5 years ago, or I would replace them tomorrow!!! PATHETIC Excuse for a company. read more

If I could give negative stars for this company I would. For the love of god do not use ADT this company is a clown show with no customer service. If you want to waste time and money give them a call, it's their guarantee. read more

DONT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!! I would give minus stars if it was possible. Before the installer left a sensor fell off. I told him they were placed wrong he told me that is how they needed to be placed. A few days later, a sensor fell off and it took a week to get it fixed. We didn't open windows for a couple weeks but when we did, 5 sensors fell off one broke. They never answer the phone, I contacted them, no response for 5 days I contacted again by text to the installer who said he couldn't come out for a week as he was in meetings. I contacted ADT as they have dealers work for them in the beginning and that is who I am forced to contact. ADT won't help at all, fought and finally got a supervisor to call me and promises were made, but nothing happened. A week later I texted the installer with no response, then called ADT and was given more promises along with the promise of a supervisor to call again nothing came of it. I am now at two and a half weeks with no help to be had and another sensor fell off with no hope of any help, however they are very happy to bill me.............. read more

Do not trust ADT at any form or fashion. They are a rip off company who prowl on the Military, and Veteran Through USAA. I call to cancel my service on 10 Nov 2022 for the fact that they no longer service ADT PULSE equipment because the have switch to ADT command, My bill was paid all the way to Dec 4th. After trying to negotiate with them to update my pulse system they wanted $2400 to do it and a monthly monitoring fee of $69.99. I called 21 days ahead to cancel my service, just to find out that there is a fee to cancel the service although I was not under any contract, They posted a fee of $7.10 past my requested cancellation date. after multiple phone calls and online chat they refused to remove the fee because i did not call 30 days in advance. Now that I paid the fee, I would NOT recommend ADT to any of my military members. And I would ask USAA to stop advertising for them or I will also cancel homeowners, car Insurances, and storm, wind, and hail Insurance as well. ADT Is worst than Having your personally security system and Cameras by your own damn self. read more

NOT FOR THIS LOCAL ADT, FOR 1-800-662-5378 CANCELLATION DEPT. Watch out for the timeframe for canceling your service. They don't tell you that if you call to cancel it doesn't take affect for 30 more days even if you are out of your 1 year obligation. Their employees don't give good information for quantity owed or refunded. I was told to call back the day after the 30 days in order to get correct refund amounts and to make sure they don't automatically withdraw the normal amount. Who wants to call back 3 times in order to cancel with a business? Who wants to work with a business that has "fine print" that says we are going to get 30 more days out of you when you no longer need the service! WE WILL NEVER USE ADT AGAIN, EVER! We hope this helps someone in the future to not have to deal with the same BS we did with this company! read more

Great job on being way too pushy during a time of need, doing a hard credit check on my husband when we specifically told you over and over again not to do it, for harassing us repeatedly with phone calls, and for hanging up on us when we tried to talk to you about it...worst customer service ever, will never get our business. read more

Do not use ADT for your office or home security systems! Unfair and deceptive business practices! They lie and misrepresent information for transfer of service from one owner to the next! They do not honor the apparent bs that was told in person by their representatives! Please forward this to everyone you know !! With So many other providers - go with anyone else !! STOP ADT lies!! This was not a request for me to renew service! It's to quit this awful service which I need to do since the house is sold and service is no longer needed! Now ADT wants 840.00 to cancel this service. I have no contract but they insist I do ! Never Again ADT! Lesson learned!!!!! read more

Had two reps show up within just a couple hours, knocking despite the No Soliciting sign. Neither wore a mask, and I couldn't get help from customer service about this. Definitely not a company I want protecting my home if they don't respect signs or wear a mask. read more

ADT is a consumer rip off. They charge a fortune for your 'FREE" system. They have you sign a contract for monitoring services. WAY more than other monitoring companies. IF you do sign with them, know that after your contract is up, you then own the system and can pick your own (much cheaper and BETTER) monitoring services! Better off to find your own independent dealer and pay for the system up front and use a much cheaper monitoring services. I had an independent do mine, and my monitoring service is EXCELLENT My mom had ADT, and every time alarm went off, no one called or came to check. Buyer beware! read more

Why don't you call me?! I've gotten the run around with ADT and I want out of my contract! I want to speak to a manager but I always get transferred and sent to a voice mail of a customer representative who never calls me back . read more

2 guys in a black unmarked Nissan Murano, who made sure they had their official looking lanyards and ADT ID cards on display, but offered no other ID, showed up unannounced on Sat., July 10, 2021 at 2pm at my house in Leland, N.C. They asked if I lived there and if I owned or rented, and told me they were going door to door offering their security services and wanted to know if they could come into my house and do an evaluation for what services I might need. When I told the driver of the car I would have to discuss it with my wife, I asked for a business card so I could call back. He had none, and scribbled his first name, "Mike", on a parking receipt along with a number. It all seemed fishy. So I googled ADT Wilmington N.C., the larger city directly adjacent to Leland. It directed me to a website that said they were open on this day and at this hour. So I called to see if it was common practice for them to make in person, unrequested cold calls, and ask to enter peoples homes. I was on hold for a few minutes, and when someone came on, I noticed his accent was definitely not southeastern N.C., so I asked if he was actually at the Wilmington office. He said "no" and that he was working from home in Orlando Fla. I then began to ask him if it was normal for their representatives to show up unannounced and ask to walk through peoples houses. Halfway through that sentence I heard the phone click as the call was terminated on his end. If that is the way they intend to provide a security service for people's homes. I have no use for them. Or worse, if someone is pretending to be from ADT so they can scope out homes, and ADT doesn't care to know about that. No thank you! BTW, Yelp does not provide for "0" stars, so I had to put 1 for this review to post. read more

The worst customer experience I have ever dealt with. Constantly try to up sell from what is promised by initial customer service rep. Took them over 10 hours to install a cheap wireless system. Yes, 10 hours!!! Must of heard every excuse of why I needed to upgrade and sign up for a higher monthly monitoring fee. If it wasn't for the hole in my wall, I would have just canceled the whole damn thing. Will be calling corporate to complain. Don't use ADT!! read more

I have now received 4 robocalls from ADT Security in the last 24 hours despite the fact that we are on every "do not call" list known to mankind. Our experience is that this robocall "harassment" will continue for a day or two, cease for a couple weeks and then crank up again. Do they really expect results with this kind of sales tactic? ADT has now become the last company on the planet that I would give my business to. read more

I recently sold a home that I had a three year contract for an ADT security system. I read the contract word for word and on page 5, section 2 it clearly states that you may cancel your contract at any time and pay 75% of the remaining monitoring fees on your contract. I called a week ago to cancel the service and had the exact amount of the remaining 75%. After being on hold for over 40 minutes, the rep told me whe didn't have a copy of my contract. She informed me that I would have to give 30 days notice and then allow another 2 weeks for them to send me my final invoice for service. She could not tell me where in the contract that these parameters were stated. I then informed her about page 5, section 2. She said "hold on, I am reading your contract". Ten minutes go by and she finally says she has to transfer me. I then (for the fourth time) have to start over by giving my name, address, ect. to another rep. I then inform her about my issue and said I just want to cancel my service and pay the remaining 75%. I started to protest and she hung up on me. So you are telling me that if I buy a house that has an ADT security system installed that the former owner has complete control over the system for another six weeks after we have closed and the deed has been recorded? I still have access to the system both online and my phone app. That is absurd and scary. I contacted ADT via their online chat, explained my situation and they said I would have to call the cancellation department back and they could not help me any further. Absolutely ridiculous! I am now having to set aside another hour away from work to be able to call and start the process over, with no guarantee that they will cancel and charge me 75% of the remaining balance due just as it STATES IN THE CONTRACT. I am a real estate agent and will NEVER recommend that my clients use ADT again. Awful company, inept cancellation department and horrific customer service. read more
