I'm always semi-skeptical of local places around the area, but Adriana's proved me wrong! The view was very calming and relaxing even on a cloudy white day. It was warm and cozy inside, and the couches are very comfortable. They are a good balance between soft/plush and firm. The digital fireplace is a nice touch as well, though if it actually turns on and warms the air that would be nice as well (not sure though). I ordered a capuccino and was pleasantly surprised. Had good notes, not too bitter or over-roasted, and it was good. Nothing wrong about it. I also ordered a whoopie pie, and boy that was moist and you'll be surprised that it is more filling than you'd think. The filling isn't as whipped, but closer to a thicker cream. It's good I'd order it again. I'll be returning here on weekends if I'm not in the city for sure. It's a good escape from the city cafes that are over congested with loud, dead-looking, fast-living people. Check it out! read more

I miss this place ( I had to move back to Vegas!), but i will tell you that the chocolate chip cookies there are the ones I have been searching for... When I was growing up near Boston, and being Italian... we had the best bakeries and the chocolate chip cookies were bigger than the size of your outstretched hand. Now as I am quite a bit older, my hand will just about have the fingertips around the edges of the cookies Mike bakes, and they taste like my childhood! Thank you, Mike!!! The coffee is awesome, too! This place was my go-to when they opened, great location, great design and decor but this place has gone seriously downhill, they don't clean like they used to, the coffee prep area is filthy and it's every time I go, it's not a fluke. They have a limited lunch menu, it's either pastry or bagel, how about some healthy options. I truly hope they make some adjustments because it has great potential. read more

They did contact me through the comment I submitted on their site, though only after I posted on here. It turns out they add nitro to all the cold brew, but it wasn't working right that day causing an excessive amount to be added (ie. it isn't supposed to be fizzy). Fine.. I get that it happens, but the server should have realized it, especially when I questioned her on it. Also, he said the prices have been the same for over a year, which makes it seem even more questionable as to why they aren't displayed. read more

I've struggled to find a good coffee shop to work from outside the city for years. Adriana's is definitely my new go-to spot. Drinks and food are exactly what I'm looking for and the service was fast. The tables look right out over the water, and the restaurant is quiet enough to work but not so quiet that it feels like a library. read more

When you're in Winthrop for two days and you come here both days, the place is a hit! Great coffee, and fabulous savory and sweet items that truly taste homemade. I have been coming here for a while. The coffee in the morning is great, but after 3 it seems as if they let it sit out for too long. When the pastries are fresh they're good, but in couple occasions I have gotten pastries that sit way too long in the fridge and seem expired. The environment is great! Amazing views of Boston, cozy seating area and easy location. They do have WiFi so that is a plus. I have been to better, but if your around the area than its worth a stop. read more

What an amazing find! With a gorgeous view of the bay and boats, I munched on a delicious cannoli and cookie sandwich that were top notch. (We took several cannolis to go they were that good). Consistently closes early. There are no hours marked on their door and when you call no one ever answers. Online it states they are open until 9pm ( 8pm on Yelp hours) however, I have arrived on both Saturday and Sunday at 630 and they were closed. Very disappointing. I really really want to like this place. Have gone a total of 3 times, hoping that the last time was just a fluke but sadly have been continually disappointed. The coffee for me is just okay, I don't find it strong enough. Although their cream and sugar bar is by far the best, I will certainly give them that. All 3 times the service has been mediocre at best. The staff was more concerned with chatting with each other than being attentive to customers or the building line. I was rudely cutoff in line once by someone who the girl behind the counter knew and immediately served while I continued to wait even longer. I can't really speak to the pastries - have only had the tiramisu and it was not good. Not even close. I had a breakfast sandwich once, and the biscuit was VERY dry. I often visit Winthrop and really enjoy the times I get to visit Adriana's Pastry & Cafe. Pastry- Connolis, Cupcakes, Cookies, Cakes..they have it all. Not to mention, the Ricotta pie is outstanding. They also make pizza! All of the baked goods I had have been excellent. Coffee- is excellent! All of the flavors you could want. They also offer seasonal coffee specialties Prices- are reasonable and comparable Atmosphere- Super cozy! The location, decor, and atmosphere keep drawing me back ( and of course the pastry and coffee) . In front of Adriana's there is a large patio with seating and inside there are number of tables and chairs and also lounging chairs. The jam filled cookies are my favorite, the gelato is outstanding, the Italian cookies are scrumptious, the ricotta pie, delish! Great coffee and food! I've been here a couple times, got the frozen latte the first time and a hot latte the second. Both drinks were delicious and I would definitely go back. I also got a breakfast sandwich on a bagel, perfect size (3/4) size bagel and food was great. The location has a great view of the harbor and airport. FINALLY! Winthrop has an awesome, authentic Italian Bakery and you can get organic coffee with a sea side view! Can't get better than that! The cookies melt in your mouth, my mom thought I baked them.....they taste like home made! The staff are friendly and serve with a smile! Our first visit we arrived as they were closing 9pm, they warmly invited us in like it was visiting an old friend! They brought over some cookies to try, needless to say, I was back 2 days later buying the cookies by the pound and eclairs. We just had the ricotta pie for a Memorial Day outing, which was about 3-4 inches high, delicious. I'm sure I'll be back soon for the lobster tails. This Cafe is right over the bridge from Boston-East Boston to Winthrop, i.e., a ten minute ride from Downtown Boston, and right next to Belle Isle Seafood. It's on the water, has outside (street) seating, and free parking. We buy sesame cookies which are far better than ever we have had, better than Mike's, Modern, and Maria's in the North End. Can you believe? The Cafe's blueberry muffins are large and loaded with blueberries, all for $2.50 each. Good value for your money. Pies are $13, same as most other places (Whole Foods), etc. Nice presentation of all items. We continue to stop here after eating next door -- another good value for your money. read more

I come here every weekend for their iced coffee (cinnamon dulce) and breakfast foods. My wife would occasionally appreciate their Soy Mistos over her Starbucks Soy Mistos. I've been a few times. The coffee is on the darker side and do it yourself with milk, sugar, etc. The staff is nice and I think the menu a little more clear since they opened. They have a nice range of pastry and someone once brought us a ricotta pie which was lemony and fluffy but I've never seen it in the case. Went a couple of weeks ago post-early holiday shopping. Got a brownie, was a little confused because the counterperson she asked if I wanted it heated. But it was quite cold so it made sense that she knew this--wanted to give me a heads up. Kind of like eating a brownie when you raid the freezer. Cannot comment on the other pastry as yet. There is a lot of seating and it is a very pleasant atmosphere to sit and read, or chat with friends. read more
