Then, patient names are called from various parts of the room which is quite difficult for people with hearing issues. Patients walk to one station and are served for a minute or two before being directed to go back to the waiting area and wait some more. Nearly all patients are elderly and walking to the station takes longer than the duration of the eye check, pressure check, dilation, or whatever unique procedure is done at each interval. The patient I transported was called 5 times from 4 different stations and she can barely walk. There is no offer of a wheelchair. This is factory medical care at its worst. They might have good outcomes, but it is a tragedy that they can't muster up some kindhearted customer care!!!

Specialty's same package doesn't provide the laser. They insist that the surgery be done with old-fashioned, nearly obsolete way using a SCALPEL. This is a franchise-wide practice, and really forces one to have to consider the much more expensive packages instead. This was my experience in the Jackson office, so be wary of all Specialty Eye Care locations.

The doctor who took me in was so calm, pleasant, and gentle that I felt so calm going into the operating room. He talked to me the entire time and spoke about things he was doing. The surgery happened so quickly and I was out the door in about 30 minutes. The pressure on the eye was interesting but I felt absolutely no pain. All the side effects they said I would notice did occur and I felt prepared for that due to their preparation prior to surgery. I am six months out now and I have not had any issues, I am able to see clearly and even would say that I see better now than I could with glasses or corrective lenses.

Got my free consultation where they checked my eyes, my prescription and answered ALL of my many questions. Couple months later I had the procedure and LOVE IT!! It was a smooth, painless process and I had results right after. As of today I'm a month out and still am beyond happy I finally had it done! Toledo Lasik's staff is phenomenal--answer any and all questions, make sure you're always comfortable and follow up. I highly recommend them now too!

He wouldn't answer my questions with anything substantial and refused to help me get my test results. He told me to request it from my portal and when I logged into the portal there were no results to print or even reference what he did. I am so disappointed in the care of this facility. I will say the front desk people were very nice and even the nurse that did most of my testing was good and efficient. AFTER the visit was also terrible. They told me I would be dilated for 24 hours and I ended up being dilated for 72 hours and it messed up my work and whole week because I was preparing for an event that week that I couldn't work on because I couldn't see anything up close. I also couldn't drive well and almost had to call work off because the light was so painful. UPDATE: The doctor wouldn't write down my results and told me to get them at the desk which he clearly knew nothing about the process because they wouldn't give them to me at the desk. Then they tell me I can get the results for free online. I submitted a request for my documents on my portal and they said it would be free. Turns out a week after I requested them they're trying to charge me $42 on top of the $95 I already paid. Kellogg and U of M is just a money hungry store where they won't help you. I'm never coming back here.
