There are 3 big projects for which we contracted with Zarco Landscaping, because they continually performed above and beyond on the work. The first project was for a room that would flood when it rains. The team at Zarco quickly diagnosed the problem as poor gutter placement and cracks in concrete on the floor above, and they worked rapidly to connect a new sewer system and rebuild our concrete walkway. There has been no more flooding. The second project was to improve the terrain and usability of our backyard, which is on a hill that was very difficult to navigate. The Zarco team completely transformed the area, building stone steps and leveling the land with premium soil, mulch, and stone. Please see the attached photos (we wish we had before pictures, but it was all dirt and invasive plants before on a steep incline)! Lastly, our third project had to be done rapidly after the recent storms in the bay area. We needed three very large and dead trees removed that were at risk of falling on our house or the street. The Zarco team came the next day to remove all of the trees. Overall, the Zarco team has always delivered amazing service and treated us with respect. The prices are also very reasonable and competitive with quotes we received from other businesses. If you live in San Mateo or the Bay Area, we strongly recommend calling Zarco Landscaping for all of your outdoor needs!

They are trimmed and look super happy (new growth with dozens leaves are burst to open). When I dropped them off; part of the leaves are dried since I wasn't able to deliver them right away after they were taken out. This is the reason that this place exist-because the volunteers passionate and know how to take care of the plants. I witness how they nurse the plants that I gave away. This must be love. For most people; these plants are unwanted and would end up in compost. They group them together with the same species in the table for sale. We solicited a half dozen quotes from a range of businesses in the 'landscaping' , 'tree trimming', etc. businesses. First pattern noticed is none of the businesses were super responsive. Maybe it was the season, maybe they were so busy, but I found it annoying to call/write two, sometimes thee times to get quotes. Mr. Nguyen is old school. They don't have a fancy website to take quotes. You have to call him. He comes over, and has to write up a quote. Then he goes more old school, and will actually deliver the quote, hand written in an envelope to your mailbox. His quote was very competitive for all the things we were asking them to do...quote to do the work was not the cheapest (which is always scary), and DEF not the most expensive (which was easily a $1k difference). He, and his mighty little crew are amazing. My hubs told me the wife brings a portable grill on the job site and makes hot meals for the crew at lunch. It's so old school and so efficient and we LOVED their work. They ended doing tree trimming for our neighbors to as an add on gig to ours... Shine on you crazy diamond, Mr. Nguyen! Great work!
