I had a fantastic experience working with Diana at Family Tree Expert. She is incredibly thoughtful and genuinely takes the time to understand what you need. Throughout the entire process, she was caring, patient, and very professional -- and she helped me brainstorm the best approach for my trees without ever rushing me. Diana's expertise really shows, and she made me feel confident in every decision. On top of that, their pricing is among the most competitive I've seen, which makes the quality of service even more impressive. If you want someone who listens, offers smart recommendations, and truly cares about doing the right thing for you and your property, I highly recommend Diana and Family Tree Expert. read more

They did a great job overall. It was a tree removal and some trees pruning. Happy with the speed and pricing as well.

Diana was quick to respond and come out to give us a proposal. Thankfully, they were able to find a day they could complete our project in the not too distant future. Our project focused on procuring new plants, leveling the yard, planting about two dozen items (including an olive tree), and running irrigation. They were incredibly helpful in selecting plants and helping us place them in a logical manner in our yard. They were quick & communicative, reasonably priced, and delivered good work. We may have given 4.5 instead because I had to re-do some of the weed barrier due to gaps or not being pinned down well which led to weeds. Admittedly, we did not reach out to have this addressed as it was something we were able to handle and am confident they would have helped if requested. Still...all of this in a day of work was incredible! We definitely plan to use Hernandez for future projects. read more

Family Tree Expert - Gardeners Near Me - Menlo Park, California

We have been working with Family Tree Expert for yard clean-up and regular maintenance for some time. Recently, we hired them for a major project: removing 3 trees, pruning 17+ trees, trimming a hedge, and some other tasks. Diana was very helpful and professional - she explained the work clearly and offered us multiple options at a reasonable price. I really appreciate how she took the time to help us understand the trees' conditions and the needed work. Once we decided on a plan, she coordinated quickly with her crew, led by Manfredy. I expected this to take several days, but the entire team finished the job in one day. Our trees look revived, and we are very happy with their work. I highly recommend them! read more

Diana and Manfreddy were really easy to work with, responsive, flexible and always made sure to understand our request. They trimmed 25 trees in our San Mateo backyard (we border Laurel creek), removed tons of ivy and left the property looking way better than it did before, over 3 days of work. Each day they checked in to make sure it was going as expected and they easily addressed any nuanced care requests. They were also meticulous in daily cleanup. We got 3 bids and in addition to being the easiest to work with, they were not the most expensive. I would hire them back in a second. read more

Dianna and her team pruned our cherry trees, a Japanese maple, and various other trees. Their work couldn't have been better. We're very pleased with their professionalism and friendly collaboration on our project. read more

We are very satisfied with the work completed by the Family Tree Experts team. Freddy and Diana took the time to talk to us about our options for what we wanted within our budget and made suggestions for our difficult terrain. Reasonable and fair quotes were sent by email and they accepted multiple forms of payment. They responded quickly to questions and clarification. Their work team is competent and work independently. There was communication as the project proceeded. All in all working with them has been a great experience. We recommend them for landscaping services, stairways, retaining walls and fencing. We've hired them for multiple projects and have been satisfied with them all. read more

Needed a 50 foot, diseased Birch tree removed from my backyard. David (the owner) personally came to the house to inspect and quote a price for removal. His was the lowest quote by far. He and his team completely removed the tree and cleaned up the work area in just over two hours. Was very happy with how nice they were and how nicely everything looked when they finished. Great service, quality work and the best price! read more

Communication from beginning to end was great with Diana and her team. They removed all the weeds/plants in my backyard garden beds extremely fast. I was very impressed at their work. Almost didn't recognize my own backyard after they were done. Wish I could have monthly maintenance done by them but I'm a little too far. read more

Diana came by for a quote on our lawn maintenance and her crew came by a week later. They did such a great job the first couple months with our maintenance that we hired them to redo our whole front yard with landscaping and artificial turf. Diana came by for a consultation and within 2 weeks, they got the job started. They finished within 2 days and we love the new look. We cannot recommend Diana and her crew enough. If you're considering any landscaping, make sure to send them a message first. Great value and very reasonably priced. read more

Diana and Freddy are knowledgeable and professional. They carefully evaluated the trees we were concerned about, and figured out how best to proceed. They pointed out that one tree we wanted to remove would require a permit - none of the other tree people we interviewed had noticed. Their advice was sensible, and now that it's finished the trees look great. The crew showed up exactly on time and completed the jobs efficiently and confidently; they obviously know what they're doing, and they worked together as a cohesive team. They left the yard tidier than it was when they started! "Family Tree" was not the lowest bid we got for this work, but they provided such a great job that it was well worth the slight extra. I would hire them again without concern, and recommend them without reservation. read more

We used family tree to remove a tree and trim many others. They also fixed our fence. They were amazing!!! They did a great job and they left our yard cleaner than it was before they came. Family Tree Experts have been providing gardening and cleanup services for several months now. They recommended cleaning up our gigantic eucalyptus tree, and we went for it. We didn't realize how much needed to really be cleared from the tree. It is an entirely different tree now and a lot less messy than before. They did an amazing job! read more

Family Tree Expert - Gardeners Near Me - Menlo Park, California

Family owned gardening and tree service company. They have great prices, a good team and they treat your property like their own. I used them to trim two giant sycamores and they did an amazing job in one afternoon. They also act as gardeners for a few families on my block and those are the best maintained homes on our street. I highly recommend. They'll take excellent care of your landscaping and your property if you work with them. read more

We highly recommend Family Tree Expert! They are incredibly knowledgeable, extremely personable, and quick to respond. They do an excellent job trimming our trees and even came emergently during a storm when a large tree in our yard threatened to fall. They removed part of the tree that evening and completely removed it the following day. They evaluated the amount of sun we receive and replaced plants with ones that will be more successful. They do a fantastic job of cleaning up and maintaining our yard. We are so happy with Family Tree Expert! read more

Great for palms and general tree advise. Will use them again. Very responsive, knowledgeable and professional- and they clean up their MESS... a real Plus!!! read more

We needed a full yard cleanup and then regular yard work to keep the yard in its semi wild state. First the clean up was expensive and the work was not really completed and they left piles of leaves in bad locations. Based upon what they said, we expected much more. During the maintenance part, they cut down young trees which we were starting and over trimmed. The worst part was that they ruined our wild flower gardens, by treating them as a lawn to mow. We requested several times for them NOT to do this, but it happened. So we lost a year of wild flowers. I have no idea if they can do just mow, blow and go, but they don't seem to be able to follow instructions to do more complex lot maintenance. read more

Hernandez Tree Service and Garden Service did an amazing job on our backyard landscaping project. Diana, Fredy and their team transformed my backyard of seven overgrown trees and dead lawn to a beautiful Zen like garden. They created my rock garden with stepping stones, installed the irrigation and drip lines for all the plants, fixed the broken fence, and installed the triple privacy lattices. Work took six days. It was great collaborating with Diana. The quality of work was outstanding from beginning to end. I highly recommend Hernandez Tree and Garden Service for your next project. read more

Quick response from Diana. She is willing to listen and nicely accommodate my schedule. In the work day, Diana and Manfredy showed up on time and they are very easy to work with. There are one electrical line and two TV cables passing through my tree and the prune/trimming job was done carefully, nicely, and professionally. For this job, I got 7-9 quotes before I made my decision with Hernandez Tree Service. Their price is fair and their job quality is not compromised at all, not even to mention the thorough cleaning at the end which itself is impressive. They got another loyal customer at the end of the day. I will definitely ask for their service again. read more

To remove a couple of rather awkwardly located, large tree stumps, Diana, Fredy & crew did a professional and efficient job. Their no-cost estimate proved not only very competitive (lowest of our three bids), but the work performed was truly worthy of their 5-star Yelp reviews. Communication with Diana was prompt, efficient and reliable as also reflected in their work ethics; punctual with appointments, efficient with their work and tidiness when leaving the property. Hernandez Tree & Garden Service is certainly a 'keeper' with respect to our future tree services and as a reference to friends/neighbors in need of such work. Thank you again, Diana, Fredy & crew! read more

Family Tree Expert - Canary Island Palm - Gardeners Near Me - Menlo Park, California

Diana and her whole team are amazing, they worked so hard for cleaning my mess back yard, definitely recommend to my friends.

This service was great! Diana is a great communicator, really mindful, and the Hernandez team was great to work with. They were mindful, remembered the details of requests I made regarding timing, put a lot of care into the work itself and cleaned up really well after. They're professional and super fair with pricing / invoicing and receipts, and knowledgeable about the ordinances on noise and hauling. I'll definitely be working with them again. About the work: We had a severely overgrown Palm that we needed to trim away from our house and our neighbors'. They stripped the trunk, trimmed the fronds, clipped some away from our chimney and added a collar to deter rodents. We also have a pine that was pretty choked out with vines and poison oak about 25'-30' feet up- they cleaned that up and did not damage the tree under the vine. They also took out a dead cherry tree, and trimmed some trees away from our roof to create defensible space. read more

Had a blackberry bush that came out of nowhere and was pretty invasive as well as overgrown trees and and an unkept yard. Gave them a call and I'm so glad I did! They worked with my budget, ended up doing a full backyard and front yard makeover at such an affordable price. They were so kind and hard working and even offered a maintenance plan as blackberry bushes are hard to get rid of. They offers to come back twice or once a month at a price I can afford. I'm so happy I took a chance with this company and will be a consistent customer! Thank you for going above and beyond!. read more
