First time at Dry Bar!…read more I only get my hair blow dried & styled after I get a haircut, and I have never been to Dry Bar or any other place to get a blowout. I was a hair model for Autumn while she is in training this week, & the experience was fantastic! I had my hair done still from the showcase with lots of product in it so I got a little add-on to pre-wash & clear buildup while moisturizing & hydrating the hair. I loved the scalp massage and hair wash, and I loved how all the products smelled & felt! Then just sitting in the chair getting the hair styled, it was so relaxing I almost fell asleep. It was the perfect way to pamper myself after the showcase! Autumn did a fantastic job and her manager was awesome stopping by throughout the whole process to watch her, demonstrate techniques, & help her along the way. It was great to see how supportive & encouraging he was while she tested out doing the Mai Tai on me. I would never think to do something like this, but I absolutely loved it & would totally do it again for a special occasion or to just pamper myself! Prices are reasonable, staff is friendly, and the place is clean. I love how everything (services and products) are all bar-themed! Such a cute concept! Highly recommend checking this spot out and book with Autumn!!

The Tempe location has consistently been fantastic, and I'm especially grateful it's so close by. I have to give a special shout-out to Justin, who is an absolute Star Bar stylist in every sense. He always does an amazing job, even when I walk in with only a vague idea of what I want, and somehow manages to work incredibly quickly without sacrificing quality. Recently, I accidentally made a scheduling mistake before a very important work event. Justin went above and beyond to accommodate both my niece and me, getting us both ready in what felt like record time. He completely saved the day, and I couldn't have been more appreciative.

I had a disappointing experience at this Drybar location that left me feeling really discouraged…read more I came in for a wash and blowout and requested the "Southern Comfort" style with as much volume as possible -- big, bouncy curls. I also explained to my stylist that I'm currently recovering from major surgery and was only four days post-op, which is why I came in for the service since I'm unable to wash my hair myself right now. My stylist was very sweet, but the service itself felt rough during the wash and blow-dry. When the blowout was finished, I was honestly shocked at how underwhelming the result was. There was barely any curl, very little volume, and my hair was frizzy and poofy rather than smooth and polished. It looked nothing like the style I requested or what I've received at Drybar in the past. Because I was already feeling lightheaded and exhausted from surgery recovery, I didn't have the energy to address it in the salon and decided to just go home. However, I called the salon shortly after leaving to explain the situation. Unfortunately, the conversation with the manager, Bailey, made the experience even worse. She immediately came across as defensive and cold rather than empathetic. She told me she would call me back before the end of the day, but I never received a call. During the conversation she questioned why I hadn't said something while I was still there so another stylist could fix it, which felt dismissive given the circumstances I had already explained. I understand that things don't always go perfectly with services, but the way concerns are handled makes all the difference. The lack of empathy and follow-through left me feeling uncomfortable and disappointed enough that I will not be returning.

I've gone in on separate occasions for a cut/color/blowout, a massage, brow wax, and a mani/pedi. The facility is very clean, and open, so you don't feel crowded in with the person next to you. It's professional, with an upscale "spa" feel, but also very comfortable, and not intimidating. They have 2 separate areas, one for hair, and another one in a different part of the hotel for massages, nail services, and waxing. Wynona was the girl who did my hair, brow wax, and mani/pedi. She was friendly, professional, and listened to me as to what I wanted to do for my hair. I ended up getting a trim and shape-up, and going darker with my hair, with red highlights. I got lots of compliments and couldn't be happier. The cut and color together were 100, with the cut being $40, and the color (it was a multi-process) being $60. The mani/ped were in total $65. Great job, again. The pedi area of the place has a long comfy sofa and a sink where you dip your feet in and let them soak while they scrub, and exfoliate and all that. SOOO relaxing. The wax was 20 (I think), and came out great. I can't remember the name of the girl who did my massage (I lost her card), but it was the perfect way to relax after a long week. The massage/nail area is in a different part of the hotel, which they walk you to. It's even nicer than the front area. Again with the upscale spa feel, and lots of warmly decorated rooms for the massage. There was soft music playing, and the tables were covered with fresh linens and were very comfortable. They offer you the option to shower afterwards, but I liked how my skin felt with the extra moisturization, so I declined, but she showed me the shower area. They have separate showers for men and women, and they were lovely. Nice towels, lighting, the whole bit. I would really recommend this place to anyone. It's clean, classy, with a luxurious feel, and reasonably priced considering the high-end experience you get.

Paid $300 for 2 first year stylists to apply an all over color and tone my roots that took 4 hours. After I reached out for a correction she told me it was my fault for using a color stripping shampoo and to find another hairdresser within my budget. The color didn't come out evenly on my ends and ended up having to cut off even more hair. This is a "clean air" salon, so unlike most other salons, you won't smell ammonia and nasty chemicals when you walk in. Instead, it smells fresh and pleasant. That's because this salon is serious about their commitment to the most natural professional hair care products out there. I've been to another "organic" salon in Phoenix, and I was disappointed to find that the products they used were not very different at all from conventional salon products. When I came to Abloom, I instantly knew that I'd found MY PEOPLE. They do special treatments using coconut oil & essential oils, and you can buy all-natural sugar scrubs, deodorant and perfume. They even use natural soap in the bathroom, and make many efforts to be "green". Alex has taught me ways to style my hair with very little product, and no heat! To me, this is the kind of stuff a true organic salon should be doing. These are the kinds of things that are important to my values & ethics, and I love that I've found a place that respects those same things. As far as my actual hair, I've only gotten cuts & styles here, and they've done a beautiful job every time. I always leave very happy. I haven't had my hair colored in years, but whenever I see the gorgeous color they do on other clients, I entertain the idea. Maybe I'll take the plunge one day ;) I've referred two clients here so far, and will continue to tell everyone who is looking for a great stylist! Love love love!
