The showroom is absolutely packed with rows upon rows, sorted by color, sprawling out, above and around in a labyrinthine warren that overwhelms the senses, to the point of distraction. We only had about an hour's worth of time to find what we were looking for (shoes), and spent the entire time wandering the rainbow rows and fawning over dozens of dresses, from sexy and sultry to glamorous and gaudy. We were also hoping to find some hair extensions, which unfortunately Lady Secrets do not carry, but they were kind enough to provide the name and information of a partner store that does. I do not know of a better stocked dress retailer anywhere in Portland. Anywhere, actually. We will definitely return, when we have a special event and need to find the perfect dress to compliment the occasion. Heck, we might even make up an event just to have a reason to come back! P.S. My wife and I now enjoy a perverse pleasure in surreptitiously whispering the store's name "Lady Secrets" to each other at random intervals.

I bought a crown from here for my daughter's quince, we ordered it brand new from the factory and…read morewhen we got home and removed the crown from the bag it came in, we found that there were a total of 12 crystals that had fallen off the crown (and it hadn't even been tried on yet.) when we called to ask if they could fix it they said they could, we waited around 20 minutes browsing the store and the flea market next to it, but when we came back we found that they had HOT GLUED the crystals back on. It was done terribly and looked better broken.

I've been consigning and shopping here since I moved to Oregon in 1995. It's so much fun to get a…read moregood deal and at the same time get rid of clothes you no longer want - and make a few bucks. I was sorry to see the old management go and learn they had fired all personnel, but I also understand that they had a different business plan, and sometimes this sort of thing is needed to make a fresh start with new policies. I've mostly been happy when consigning although sometimes the low price they place on a Pendleton or Clarks item I've consigned blows my mind and I try not to get upset. I've mostly been pretty satisfied with the amount of items they accept from me to consign (I'd say they accept at least 80% of what I've brought in), but the last time, I brought in over 30 items, most new but without tags, and they didn't accept one single item! One has to consider their current stock and think maybe they already have something like you brought in, and they didn't take? But I was bummed as I am an old lady and had to schlepp my stuff to my car from my apartment and then into the store, and then the reverse. I'm sorry to hear of the many complaints about employee attitudes here. That has not been my experience in the least! I'm always asked if I need assistance and they scramble to help me find things that are going past their consign-by date (when they would ordinarily go on sale or get donated), when I want to rescue something from them that I've consigned. I DO like to shop the discounted items in each section and appreciate how they put them on the end of each section, so I can walk down the main aisle and peruse them. These items (priced according to the current % off color that hangs from the ceiling) used to be sprinkled throughout the store and not kept together in each section, so for us bargain shoppers, this is a fantastic way to shop!

I had a great consultant, I found a dress, and I never once felt uncomfortable as a plus size shopper (which was my biggest stress point). Faith did an excellent job narrowing down what would be perfect for me by asking questions in order to get me to articulate why I did or did not like something, helped me into all the dresses without any hesitation, and found dresses that were flattering for me. Best of all, there was way more in my budget of $800 max than I ever expected! Faith also was great at making on the fly alterations to the dresses to either make straps fit better, adding petticoats to make the dress fuller, clipping unwanted fabric out of the way as needed, etc. - thank you for all you do!
