She answered all my questions and made the whole experience super comfortable. I arrived 5 minutes early and filled out paperwork. Then Wency showed me to the room (beautifully furnished) and instructed me on how to get ready. She left the room while I got dressed (I really appreciated the privacy of these moments). The whole process took 16-20 min. I thought I had good pain tolerance (I have many tattoos) but boy, did I underestimate the pain of a Brazilian Wax. Wency was very patient: she told me when to take deep breath and talked to me to distract from the pain. I felt really good after the appointment. Will be coming back in 5 weeks for maintenance! I liked the online booking system as well, fast and simple.

I've been going to Waxmi regularly for the past 4 years, and every time, Wency is professional, thorough, clean, and such a pleasure to interact with. Waxing obviously isn't fun, but she makes it almost painless (for real!) and she has a gift for lightening the mood and taking the awkwardness out of it. She has become such an integral part of my hygiene routine, to the point where I see these regular appointments with her as self-care. I'm very prone to in-grown hairs and I never have an issue with her, she's literally that good!! Booking with her is easy and she checks in beforehand too so you can reschedule if needed, without paying any fees. She's a lovely person and is so great at what she does! 5 stars every time, 11/10!!

In town to visit friends and just back from Whistler with some icky, dry hands and feet. So I…read morecalled just two hours in advance to see if they had any availability left on a busy Sunday afternoon for a manicure ($30) and deluxe pedicure ($65) and they fit me in! Though I added paraffin ($15) to my hands, they did push both the manicure-pedicure in shellac because they stated the regular polish would not dry in time ($25). I also did not know there was a 5% tax on services in Canada. However, they do give you 5% discount for writing a review - though instead of $129.68, they charged me $131.78 because they only took off the 5% on the $90 shellac manicure-pedicure. Even after I tipped both of the technicians $20 each in US currency, I was disappointed that they were dishonest when I pointed out to them about the discount not having been applied to the total amount and they said it was the tax. I had Trish and Miley; both were excellent with the trim, shape, and polish. The hand and foot/leg massages were just okay. I have the manicure at the same time as the pedicure, but it was quite uncomfortable to have to sit on an angle for both my hands to be done to one side of the chair. Because the receptionist was chatting away with both of them, they were not paying attention and not looking at their sanding and buffing of my nails at the beginning, which was also uncomfortable to my hand and feet cuticles. Last, the foot exfoliation was also not thorough because it was done during the time that the conversation was happening. All in all, I would still recommend!

I asked for French tip with a coating of chrome dust on top. Anytime I've asked for French tip, I find some aestheticians take quite long to do it but Kieran was sharp and speedy. I walked in at 10:20am and was out of there by 11:30am. He even added abit of length to my thumb as my nail had just broken off prior to getting there. I'm super happy with the quality and the precision of the French tip. It was definitely on the pricier side with French being an extra $15 and chrome an additional $15 on top of a regular gel mani. Total before tip was around $70. I didn't mind spending extra to ensure my nails looked great for my wedding weekend!

She layered it nicely and gave it the right volume so that it even looked good when it was dry and natural (something hard for curly hair). I loved my experience and a year later I went back with the same Groupon, this time a friend of mine who wasn't getting her hair done was with me. The normal stylist wasn't available so Tina, the owner, did my hair. Again it was great! My friend loved my hair so much that she spontaneously decided to get hers done. Tina was so kind and gave my friend the Groupon price, despite her not having one. (this is normally an $80 ish cut!) Love it, when I'm not a struggling student anymore I'll come back and pay full price.

I had a very unpleasant experience with Viet for a balayage session. Before the session I had messaged him to make sure he's comfortable with doing dimensions of blonde on black hair, as I wanted something easier to grow out and maintain. He said yes very confidently. I had some doubts as I didn't see many examples on his Instagram page. He spent almost 6 hours on my hair, and it turned out looking like box dye. Full head of brown instead. After I communicated my dissatisfaction with the result, he refused to fix it at a later date unless I pay full price for the terrible result I got from him. He said it was miscommunication from me as he heard me saying "ashy brown" instead of "ashy blonde" even though I have repeatedly said bright summer blonde colors and showed him pictures with messages stating what I wanted. My piece of advice for whoever chooses him: he's good for haircut and full head of basic color dye (brown, dark colors). Don't go to him for anything fancy. Waste of money.
