This is my favorite store to shop! Everyone is very friendly and I think that they have pretty much of everything I need, just like a name brand grocers. Good prices and a lot of organic food. I was surprised. Love the store. butcher for meats, fresh fruits and vegetables. Not a bunch of a selection, but enough of our basics and some good you can't get from those commercial grocers! I like everything about the food here. I trust it completely. Fair prices, reasonable quality as well as quantity, and a nice variety of essential nutrients. I also love how they have all my favorite asian noodles here. The parking outside is fine, as long as you don't go on a busy day, which we learned to avoid. I honestly have almost no complaints about this place, we've been going here for over 20 years. I've always felt that everyone's lives would become better if they shopped here, It's nearly perfect... I have all but only one issue with this place, and it's a major one. The male employees have a starring problem. I don't dress myself in a way that would normally attract male attention. I don't wear tight or low cut shirts, or tight pants that show off my ass and thighs, or wear makeup whenever I've been here. If anything, I look very young, espeacially since I'm with my dad when I go, and the treatment I get each time I come here is just very disturbing. I'm so uncomfortable, I no longer will accompany my dad when he comes here, so I'm really happy Samy Fruits opened up near by. Yes, it's fine to make eye contact with customers, but at least say hello. Don't just stare silently like some creepy pervert! And the way they stare too is just very wierd. It's like they're undressing me with their eyes, like they're sexually excited to see me. I don't think it's because I'm attractive at all. I get the impression it's because they're not use to seeing females that are not covered. I don't like the silent harassment I receive there. I feel as if I have to avoid eye contact with all the arab men, and just stare at the ground. I never feel good when I go there. I wouldn't shed a tear if this place burned down. I've been to other middle eastern grocery stores before, none of their middle eastern male workers behave this way. I feel like I'm in the ghetto everytime I go, so I'm very happy my dad finally took them out of our usual routine. Sometimes I see non middle eastern employees there, who act normally and just do their job. Even the middle eastern females are polite. White, black, yellow guys.. all normal, but for some reason, all of their middle eastern employees are freaks. I don't know why they never got use to seeing women uncovered. How long is this going to take them? Because I think they should feel very lucky that I'm not a serial killer lol. read more

Adonis is a Huge disappointment and not worth the trouble of fighting through the west island traffic. I had been craving some middle eastern food all week and I made the trip expecting to pick up some falafel, baba ganoush , and zaatar bread. I was encouraged by the large exterior of the building. My first impression of the interior was that it was the filthiest grocery store I had ever seen. I wish I had left then and there. The selection was poor and I found myself wandering aimlessly hoping to find anything worth buying. I found some falafel and baba ganoush (no zaatar bread) and some other odds and ends I could have found at my local IGA and waited in a checkout line only to find they don't accept credit cards. Not only did they not accept the cards but the girl at the checkout gave me an eye roll like I was mental to be asking. The food I bought was in the garbage within hours. The baba ganoush was horrid and had the texture of petroleum jelly. The falafel was equally awful. Seriously, how can you mess up falafel? Next time I want good middle eastern grocery I'll drive into downtown Montreal - or even the complete opposite direction into Ottawa. read more

I took my brother here ( he is a new Pointe Claire resident) for the first time and was pleasantly surprised by the large windows and lots of natural light coming in. We picked up some prepared foods, I highly recommend their chick pea salad and the tabouleh (although not bad here) didn't seem as fresh as the Laval location. This fantastic middle eastern supermarche was just recently bought out (55% ownership) by Metro. Let's hope they keep their low prices and excellent selection. I believe they bought a good chunk as we know immigration will definitely continue and places like Toronto or Ottawa could successfully each have huge Adonis stores. Plus Metro could start stocking some of their (Adonis) items in their own stores. Anyway, enough about the business models and future plans! Back to the food. I highly recommend as well their baba ghanoosh and their hummus! Head down the aisle also to pick up some 79¢ pita bread (5 pieces in a bag) and eat to your hearts content! One other fantastic thing about Adonis is the fact that they have a great fresh seafood section that doesn't smell like a chinese fish market! One word of caution, avoid peak times if you do not enjoy crowds. Otherwise since the locations are so popular it can be like Costco at Christmas! read more

After a 5 hour Sunday drive from Toronto, we almost didn't make it before closing which I thought would be 6pm. Well it turns out they are open until 7 on Sundays. I wanted to barbecue some of their delicious Shish Taouk chicken breasts when we got to my dad's place. We also bought pita, tzatziki and fresh tabbouleh which is all prepared in-house. Anytime I visit back home, this is my go-to grocery store and well worth the trip. They've got an amazing selection of meats (including BBQ chicken), fresh fish and seafood, a wide assortment of international cheeses and awesome pastries. Service is probably not the friendliest, especially when they are super busy which they are often. Good luck finding parking on the weekends but we got here late so it wasn't too bad. The service here was despicable! (not exaggerating) I bought a birthday cake here and when came the time to serve it, I found 2 strands of HAIR inside. No problem there. It happens. I decide to bring it back. This is where it gets interesting. I wasn't in a hurry, and patiently waited for someone's assistance. I explained the hair situation and they first looked at me as if I was impossible. k. They started "dissecting" the cake just to find MORE HAIR inside. At this point, the man at the counter started to accuse me "why didn't you call before?? This could be your hair!! We can't to anything". It doesn't stop there. The Manager, a tall man, intervened and walked towards me to intimidate me with his height. He hovered over and yelled "WHAT'S YOUR PROBLEM". Mind you, i came here expecting for an apology. What I got in return was 3 angry men yelling at me! to finally tell me that they will only give me 50% on another cake?? HAHAHA seriously??! Just by principle, I will never be stepping foot in this place again. read more

That will be the last time I write off an hour of time , wait in line and only then be told no credit cards accepted. Has to be the only supermarket in N. America not accepting credit cards. Anyway aside from the very occasional sale item they are not even in the game on prices for much anything ,Almost everything they have can be had elsewhere for less. I originally stopped going there because its ALWAYS so crowded because the isles are so tiny , service in general was crap and the parking is retarded in and out .Even if they took credit tomorrow I am done with them, there high prices and hassles . I went there to purchase for a dinner party planned at the last minute. I was not impressed with the place at all some of the veggies looked like they were there for a while ... I rushed to buy everything and got to the cash they do NOT accept CREDIT CARDS and all I had was my credit card in my pocket ... very disappointed had to leave all my purchases behind after all the times spent selecting.. It's exceptional, I hope in time will stay like that or become even better. New location is farther away from my home but it is worth to go buy at Adonis now. Lot of place to park also at this new location, and it's looking really nice, a pleasure to go there. The food like I said, really good and fresh. I still miss Murelatos though even if it never was so good as Adonis:) but then I miss Loblaws too, therefore as I see that all good stuff ends up fast once you get used to being there when you need it, I hope Adonis will avoid in the future leaving us without such a good place to buy food :) read more

I been to this store plenty of times buying fruits and vegetables. I bought 3 green crates of it. As the food is coming down the line the cashier says to me you can now put your own groceries in the crate. I wasn't really happy with this remark........since I spent a large sum of $$$ here. I really don't care if there wasn't a bagger - if they can't spend money on them I think the cashier should be doing the job and not telling the customer what to do. She was a middle -aged cashier with no respect. read more

Use to be much better food and service when it first opened, the biggest problem is there is never any parking here it's terrible I find the people that do work here just hate their jobs in every dept. just rude and full of attitude, it has become quite dirty compared to before real nasty sometime. Really poor customer service, below grade products and many recalls due to hepatitis contamination. I have stopped shopping there.

If they ask you if you want your pizza heated at the deli counter just say no. If you want warm pizza go somewhere else. They asked me and I said yes. Apparently this gives them free license after heating it to roll it into a burrito shape and shove it in a bag meant for some sort of sub sandwich. Fairly unpleasant. They don't take visa and they're real pricks about telling you that after you've tried twice to complete the transaction on their machine. read more
