Service was incredibly slow and non-existent at times. We could hardly find our server. I had to go to the cash register to ask for the bill. I had to walk near the kitchen area to ask for a to-go box. I had to ask for sugar for a second time for my iced tea. It's one thing for items to be forgotten about but to have to physically go get everything myself was irritating. The servers were slammed and one guy was running in the back..literally running!! It was so busy making the whole experience and waiting game. We spent a couple of hundred $$ to do the job ourselves. There were too many covers and not enough staff. Great food, beautiful views. Arriving at the Adobe Grill, you walk up beautifully landscaped hilly walkways, and greeted with the sounds of the house band playing on one of the outdoor levels. As we checked-in for our reservation (reservation recommended), we got seated on one of the outdoor balcony tables. The views are perfect, as you get to see the sunsetting on the mountain sides. Chips and salsa were brought to the table right away. This is one of the best chips and salsas I've had in a long time. The chips were thick and crunchy and salsa was made with fire-roasted tomatoes, thick and full of flavor. I ordered the carnitas; comes with rice and beans, tortillas and sides of an avocado lime salsa and a roasted tomato (warmed) salsa. Both were pretty good. The carnitas were mostly tender; with the exception of the harder meat ends. The rice and beans were very tasty. You can't beat the atmosphere here. From the beautiful views, to the authentic modern mexican furnishings. Very upscale. The service was good. The server took our orders right away and the food came fast. But trying the get any one of the many people working there's attention was a little tricky. I know they are all moving so fast to help others. So I'm staying here at the resort and my first night I decided to get some Mexican food. As I walked in I sat at the bar and the bartender was very welcoming and friendly. I started off with some chips and salsa and a Paloma which was a little strong which I liked. Then I got the chili gueros and the flautas and both were delicious. After sitting through 3 hours of rush hour traffic coming from Orange County, We were super hungry and tired when we go to the La Quinta resort. We decided to give their Mexican restaurant a try our first night. The food hit the spot and it was nice to be able to sit out on the patio under the heaters to listen to the live music. Food wise some things were better than others. We really enjoyed the steak sopas and queso fundido we got for appetizers. My gf got the combo meal which she really liked. I ordered the carnitas which I found to be just okay. The carnitas themselves didn't have that crunch you get from some places and just overall weren't that tasty. Our server was very attentive and nice. It is pricey but that's to be expected at a Resort restaurant. read more

This restaurant is definitely a destination if you're in the La Quinta area. The grounds are beautiful, and the food is authentic and delicious! We sat on the patio, and even though we had to ask three times to have our heater turned on, we had quick and friendly service. We will always be sure to come when visiting the area. This place is located at the LQ resort and spa. I went the other night for dinner and had a pretty good meal. I went with the carnitas. Relatively small portion with some beans and rice. Margaritas were good. My wife had the black bean chili they were serving for Halloween. . Good is sort of expensive for what you get, which is normal for a hotel. Service is pretty good. The restaurant is nice with loads of outdoor patio seating. Just call ahead to ensure you get a spot on the outside patio if that's what you want. Good views. read more

We stayed in La Quinta Resort last time when we visited Pal Springs and this time at JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort and Spa. We drove for about 20min to Adobe Grill for dinner. It was very hot outside on the day, and the live music started after dark. We decided to sit outside next to the water mist, since there is a short wait for indoor seating and quite noisy indoor. Cadillac Margarita $21.5 Husband got the most popular Cadillac Margarita. Made with El Jimador Reposado, Grand Marnier Liqueur, Fresh Squeezed Lime and Lemon Juice. Got the big size with salt rim, which was very tasty. Margarita De Sabores $20 I got the strawberry flavor of the blended margarita. Made with El Jimador Reposado and Cointreau. The complimentary corn chips with salsa were very delicious! Ceviche De Camaron $23 We got the refreshing appetizer of Shrimp, Pico de Gallo, Cucumber, Avocado, Corn Tostadas, and Plantain Chips. Free Range Chicken Fajitas $30 For the main course, we all love fajitas. The chicken fajitas on the stone grille with onions, peppers and cilantro on top was very good! Came with three flour or corn tortillas, bean rice and guacamole. I don't know how we missed this restaurant the last few times we stayed at La Quinta resort. We celebrated my husband's birthday. We preferred to eat outside even though it was still 90f at 6pm. The view is beautiful and s there is water steam to cool down. We had the ceviche, excellent and super fresh, the chicken fajita that was also very tasty, and 4 beef tacos. The employees at this restaurant are incredibly rude and not accomodating. The server was so rude and disrespectful. She charged us wrong and when I showed her she rolled her eyes. They wouldnt let our group sit together even tho there was room. They acted to bothered to help us at all. Some of our food was good but overall not worth the bad treatment. we stay at the resort every year but may change to another because of the awful treatment we received at this restaurant. We will never return but like having options where we stay. I wish theyd take accountability for how they treated us but all the manager said was sorry. Then they all stared rudely at us. read more

Stopped in for a New Years Day with the family. The space is great and pretty festive. It was cold so we were inside but there is an amazing outdoor space which we will try next time. We had Chilean Sea Bass and the New York Carne Asada with a couple years drinks. Everything was great. The Sea Bass was great with a hint of spice. My husband really enjoyed his NY steak Carne Asada. He said it was one of the best he's had and that's one of his go-to dishes. The drinks were spot on. I had a Cadillac Margarita and he had a ranch water. YELP SHORT ANSWER: yes, you have to... we like Adobe best but there are other options at the resort. LOCATION: exceptional but parking can be a mess, on Christmas Day it was packed and we were lucky to find a spot but we dined outside very comfortable 6pm - 7pm on Christmas. MENU: many options, easy to read and obviously a higher end offering. FOOD PREP: beautifully done FOOD QUALITY: taste has always been great and we have sampled many items. Mole is very good here. LIBATIONS: Resort overpriced? NO I don't think so. Very fair prices, always fun, and well poured if you know what I mean. WAITSTAFF: excellent, fun, and never pushing you out to flip a table. OVERALL VALUE: expensive but worth it for the entire experience and especially the location. TIP: make reservations and ask about conflicting events which can overwhelm the staff. We enjoy in summer months if you dress appropriately but winter is perfect warm and no snow! read more

Visited this restaurant while in town on a mini vacation. This place is nestled in a resort with beautiful landscaping and lights. The service and staff were top notch and very welcoming. I ordered the chile relleno plate & my adult daughter had the steak fajitas. We shared the esquite also. Everything was soo good. The flavors were amazing and everything was delicious. This was our first visit to Adobe Grill. Glad we made a reservation cuz the place was hoppin' - even this late in the season! We started with drinks. My wine was very nice, but hubby was the big winner with the cucumber cocktail - which I'm definitely getting next time! We split the empanada appetizer which was so delicious! It came with a salsa verde but I preferred using the table salsa, which we just loved. For entrees, we ordered the Adobe salad + chicken and the Coloflor Steak. Both were very good and we ended up taking most of it home. The staff were working very hard - as I said it was packed - our server was friendly, knowledgeable, and stealthy efficient. Thursday and Saturday nights are live music (maybe other nights too?) with a band who, according to our waiter, has played at the Resort for 20+ years. They were amazing and, at least part of, the reason for the big turnout. All in all, a lovely impromptu evening. We will be back! read more

Abode gets a 10/10 every time. I have eaten there 4-5 times in total and taking a picture never even dawns on me. The servers and bartenders are enthusiastic and friendly. They always make the best recommendations, those I order the fajitas every time. Others around me have tried various dishes in which they've all ranted about. The decor is the typical traditional Mexican theme. It is authentic and not cheesy at all. I would put this first on your "to eat" list while on property. read more

They have a multi layered patio with fountains, fire features, lights, and live entertainment most evenings. Outdoor heaters for those that get chilly. The wait staff was wonderful, and the food came out extremely fast. Diablo margarita was spicy and delicious, and my husband said his old fashioned was on par. The only reason for the 4 star review is that my food was incredibly bland. I had the steak tacos, rice and beans and none of it had flavor, nor did their chips and salsa. That said, while he said the same about our chips and salsa, my husband had the short rib and said it was seasoned well and tender. I will start with the high point, the restaurant is very nice good ambiance and a very nice patio. Now as far as the margaritas go, way, way over priced and not that good to be honest. I mix up several different margaritas at home and I would consider mine all top shelf. The margaritas were a huge disappointment. The food was only so so. There are better Mexican restaurants in La Quinta and the Cochella Valley where you can get much better food at a better price point. The food had no seasoning at all. I had to drown everything in salsa or salt. Even salsa needed salt. It was so bad. I got ceviche and I'm pretty sure they mixed it with ketchup. The food was just so horrible .Our waiter wasn't great either he mixed up our bill we ended up paying for two and had to get one refunded because he got confused. Service was really slow. Located at the la Quinta resort, this restaurant is really cute. They have great outdoor seating although if you aren't near the fire it can get a bit chilly at night since there were no heat lamps. The food was excellent and our waiter was very nice. We really enjoyed the made to order guacamole which was very fresh. If you don't like cilantro, make sure to ask for it without it - they give you a healthy portion of it in the guac (if you like cilantro, it is awesome with it). read more

Another great visit to Adobe Grill! Solid food and drinks with friendly service and always a stunning view of the resort and mountains especially at sunset. The resort is beautiful and especially festive around the holidays with the giant Christmas tree and decor. I had the large skinny Margarita with a tajin rim, which was very tasty and a good alcohol level - not too weak or too strong. The chips and salsa were good and the guac was a great addition, as always. They used to make it tableside but didn't this time - not sure if this was a post Covid modification or something. Still tasty though! The flautas were very tasty, although I was expecting them to be soft rather than fried. They were more like taquitos - still very good though! Service was not good outdoors the flies were outrageous. 50 flies attacking servers didn't even want to go out not sure why they did not move us inside. The food is expensive and wasn't really up to the level it used to be. Adobe Grill was the perfect spot for a late dinner at our recent stay at the lovely La Quinta resort. My expectations weren't too high since it's a hotel restaurant, but I was impressed with the quality of the food and the (big) portions. I ordered a 3-taco platter which came with rice and beans. I love that they let me choose 3 different meats as many restaurants make you just pick one type. I had steak, pork with pineapple, and shrimp. The shrimp was my favorite as it felt healthy but was very flavorful. Much to my delight, I could make 6 tacos of these 3 tacos because they stuffed them with sooo much meat that they were overflowing. They double up on the corn tortillas for each taco, so it was easy to turn them into 6 tacos! I'll try to remember this next time I come back because it was so much food. We also ordered a Mexican inspired salad that had this delicious creamy green dressing and plenty of grilled blackened corn and avocado. Yum. The complimentary chips and (smoky, delicious) salsa were terrific and the service was great. I saw other folks with the margaritas which looked huge and refreshing! They're open late here (compared to the 2 other restaurants at La Quinta and do live music on the patio some nights. read more
