It has been two months since the last time I saw it. On my weekly visits to check on its location, the explanation is always the same: its either still being cleaned (again) or at the seamstress. Conversation with the manager (Don) added an insult to the injury. He talked over me and tried to brow beat me with stories of servicing Napa wineries - as if it has anything to do with my jacket. The amazing thing is that nobody even once told me that they were sorry. Empathy does not appear to be a part of Chardonnay Cleaners repertoire. One of the attending young ladies made a point of telling me that the manager will "only call you if he has the time". At this point I am resigned to losing my jacket. I can't imagine that they will compensate me for the loss, as in our conversations it is always "we have no control over what the cleaning machines are doing". In the grand scheme of things, it is not a life or death matter. It is just a garment. However, it is how we treat each other that makes Napa such a special place to live. In my experience Chardonnay Cleaners falls short of basic civility and respect that our community stands for.

Rip off business! I brought in three pairs of shoes: heels for short boots, sneakers to be…read morestretched and tiny little heels for high heel sandal. $75. Okay a lot of cash, but the sandals only needed one heel replaced UNLESS they could not match and then I asked that both be fixed. Picked them up and noticed when I went home that only one heel was replaced and it was a 1/4 inch higher than the other. Can't walk like this. When I returned the woman the woman said "I told you they wouldn't match." So I replied "Yes, and then both should be repaired." "Fifteen dollars," she said and REFUSED to fix her mistake. "See," she said. "One pair of heels on the ticket." I know ow she is Chinese but she apparently does not know what a pair is. She explained that the boots were $35 and this sandal heel was $20. So she wanted to charge $40 for two tiny heels but $35 for big boot heels. Upshot is, she misread her ticket where I already paid for the two heels and lost a customer by not fixing her mistake. I will NEVER return and you should not either.
