I'm a special education teacher that works over an hour away from Peru. However, when our annual teachers union charity benefit came up I thought it would be nice to get a gift certificate from a local business so that people could check out a place that they might not go otherwise. I saw a couple good reviews and thought that the salt caves would be a good choice. My team of teachers pitched in $100 toward a gift certificate at the salt caves for our charity basket event. The lady that won went to redeem it with her receipt stapled to the brochure we were given but was denied because they said they needed an actual card that was NEVER given to us. ( they stated they ran out) When my friend that I had pick up the gift receipt called to inquire she insulted him and called him a liar. I then called, as I had originally spoken to her on the phone, figuring she'd remember our conversation. The owner then insulted me and raised her voice saying I should be smart enough to understand what she's saying as I am a teacher. As a special education teacher, I find it completely unprofessional to insinuate stupidity because you don't know how to properly run a business nor give proper customer care. After she insulted me, I let her know I would not ever be stepping foot in her establishment and was shocked by her behavior. She then started yelling over me and saying that she didn't need business for someone like me. That speaks volumes of her character. Shameful behavior! read more

We came across this hidden gem when we were visiting the area on vacation. My wife loved it so much we visited 3 days in a row. As soon as you walk through the door you feel the positive energy. The young couple who run the place are very knowledgeable and pleasant. They answer all your questions you might have before you enter the cave. You would have to actually visit the cave to see the true beauty. It is majestic. The other room they have is also very relaxing. My self, my wife and mother in law fell in-love with this place. I attended a session at the salt caves not long before the pandemic hit and had an amazing time. The women at the desk who I believe may have been the owner was polite, professional and kind. She explained everything to expect with the session and I left so relaxed. The cave was spotless and the set up/ room was breath taking and worth every penny. I was actually hoping to find out if they are still open with the pandemic. I would love to go again! read more

I spent $100 to get a certificate for a gift basket. I was told they didn't have them and that a receipt was sufficient. When the person who won the basket tried to redeem the receipt, they would not honor it. I then contacted them politely to try to resolve the situation and they claimed I must have "lost them" and that I was being dishonest. I have never had such defensive back-peddling and excuses dealing with a business in my life. Not only was I embarrassed to have them refuse to honor their receipt but I and my girlfriend were subsequently insulted both online and over the phone. To be told that I was wrong and a liar does not reflect proper business etiquette. If they were honest, and even if they couldn't do anything about it, they would have merely said "I'm sorry this happened, there's nothing we can do about it". Instead they made a plethora of excuses, changed their story and resorted to insulting my honesty and integrity. I was nothing but polite to start, however it's clear that they are conning people and using "company policy" to do it. Beware. read more
