The manager I'm guessing explained that we have a lo-jack system, which was put in by the dealership, so they could not test the OBD original port. They showed us a picture which was of a completely different car, making us believe it was ours. They must have this picture on file to show everyone when the vehicle has a lo-jack system. (This is simply a device that can be disconnected in a matter of seconds). They locked our account so we would have to drive into Phoenix to a special Waver Station after removing the Lo-Jack System. Come to find out from the Waiver Station, this is usually explained and can be done during the test. The technician shook his head in disappointment and said, "Why didn't they just let you remove it there." According to the Waiver Station technician, they could have easily let us remove it and perform the test instead of making us travel all across town and causing a major inconvience from what it seems "Out of spite". It's a shame that these people are not held accountable!

There were four garages available. Staff were very friendly and courteous. He asked us to wait outside of the car. The testing took about a minute or two to complete. They accept credit cards and cash. We received a copy of the approved emissions test. Staff take care of sending a copy of the approved test to Motor Vehicles.

As most of you that live in this county, know that if you have an older car you have to take it to have it tested and pass the emissions test in order to get a new license plate tag. As I pulled into the driveway to enter the facility I have to pull a ticket out in order to get the gate to open so that I can get into their facility. Well this particular morning the machine wasn't going to cooperate. So I pulled out one third of the ticket and was unable to get the rest of the ticket out. Then the guy behind me was trying to help and guess what he pulled another third of the ticket. So he politely went over to get one of the guys to help out. So the employee comes over and helps me to get the rest of the ticket out. So the gate opens and I am left with three pieces of a ticket. So from here I drive up to the lane to get the car tested and hand over the ticket which was in three pieces. So after I restart the car and my sister and I walked over to the booth and about three minutes later the guy comes over to tell they can't test the car. So he tells us the car has to be driven more in order for us to test it. You will have to come back. So we left and took my sister back home. My wife told me why don't you drive it up and down the freeway and then take it back in. So guess what, I drove my sister's car up and down the freeway and took the car back. This time no problem with their ticket machine and once again I am in line waiting to have the car tested. So I pull up and after restarting the car I walked over to the booth and some older employee came over to tell me we noticed you came by earlier and I said I did. So he tells me if we can't test it you will have to come back in three days. I told him I understand. So I'm watching the guy that is running the test and noticed that a light came on when he did the first test. So next thing he is running the gas tank test, and right after tell me what the fee is. So I paid and told me to get back in the car and hands me the test form and says, it passed. All this happened on the same day so go figure. Just glad I listened to my wife. Of course the second time I didn't have my sister with me but she was glad I had gone back to get retested. This is my story of my adventure at the ADEQ Auto Emissions.

Here is a perfect example of the awesome,…read morehonest, and competent service I received at Greenway Family Auto: I had my car towed to Peoria Ford because of a "High engine temperature Stop safely" message on 8/16/26. After dropping off my car I headed out to get a rental car. Seven days later, 8/23/26, I finally received a diagnostic report from Peoria Ford they wanted me to pay $3,325.88 to replace the thermostat and water pump, they couldn't even tell me that it would fix the problem, they would need to retest after the work was done. I immediately had my car towed on 8/24/26 from Peoria Ford to Greenway Family Auto on the corner of Greenway and 99th Ave. They started diagnosing the problem that day and the car was all fixed and ready to go at 3:30pm, 8/25/26. Here is the kicker, it wasn't the thermostat and water pump, it was a bad radiator cap and a cracked radiator reservoir tank, they replaced both and charged me $374.86. Had I stayed with Peoria Ford I would've paid $3,325.88 and my car would've still had the original problem! I now have my mechanic for life here in Sun City, they are very knowledgeable, friendly, and honest. I highly recommend Dom and his crew at Greenway Family Auto.

Needless to say, I wasn't super psyched to have to find time in my already busy days to figure this out, but I sucked it up and searched for the nearest emissions testing and found this place. I headed that way late on a Monday afternoon and was pleased to see that the line was not long, and it moved pretty fast too! I was in and out quickly and luckily my car passed the test. If you're in need of emissions testing, this place is fast, efficient, and the staff is friendly enough too.
