So what do you do when you have a leak? I know... call a plumber right, so here is the tricky part... so which plumber do you go with? It is always best that you do your due diligence and get three quotes not for shopping for the lowest cost but for getting the right service at the right price. Honestly I don't even know where I got Adept Plumbing but I had used this company six months ago and today I needed help again. Steven is very responsive and very reasonable. He is meticulous and helps you anyway he can. Steven will do his best to give you the best possible suggestion/choices for your plumbing problem. A quick recap of our problem, Monday morning water was forming in the down stairs bathroom (the floor tiles) and the laundry room right next to it. I had two slab leaks before and I suspected that this could be a third one. Steven came and did his due diligence and narrowed down the cause and before proceeding he recommended that a leak detection company will be the best option to validate his findings. He suspected that the leak was from the pipes from the wall and not a slab leak. The main valve was shut off to minimize the leak... to make a long story short after Steven was correct, the leak detection company located the problem and it was indeed the pipes on the wall. I you need anything that has to do with plumbing you may want to consider Steven for your next project or repair. He is honest and gets the job done! read more

I consider myself a DIY person and attempted to replace 2 very old bathroom faucets. When I got stuck due to really rusted and corroded hex nuts and dealing with archaic metal piping, I sought professional plumbing help. Steven was so responsive through text messaging and even gave me some tips on trying to resolve the issue myself. He came the next morning with his huge truck with all the required tools and parts for my job. He methodically worked to skillfully replace both faucets, thoroughly testing for functionality and leaks, and cleaned up the job site. Thank you Steven and Adept Plumbing! read more

Steve put in a shower system so I can easily wash my dogs outside using warm water. What a pleasure for me and the dogs. I can take the dogs to dog beach and fiesta Island then return home for a nice quick cleanup using my new doggie shower. No more sandy fur or muddy feet! And never another attempt to wash a dog in the bathroom! What a mess that was! read more

Steven installed the wrong water heater and it was installed with the wrong pipes and connections. He did not finish the job and then left me high and dry after he cashed my check. 3 plumbers have confirmed that I was scammed and have a water heater that is too small and installed incorrectly, even dangerously! read more

Called Adept yesterday and spoke to William to schedule a service call. I was able to get an appointment within three hours for my clogged sink. Steven came out and cleared my sink and reattached a pipe the last plumber didn't do right. Excellent service, thank you Adept Plumbing. read more

BIGGEST SCAM, DO NOT USE THEM. Wouldn't even give them one star, they are the most disrespectful service across the entire world. They are terrible people, I have called 14 times for my brand new water heater which doesn't work at all and they will not answer, return any calls, or offer to help at all. I shower every day with freezing cold water and they refuse to help in any way. They do not take any responsibility and refuse to even answer calls after purchasing a brand new water heater which is completely broken. read more

Our problem wasn't super complex, but it was a bit of a weird one. We certainly needed a professional opinion. Steve was prompt, courteous and very quick to diagnose the situation offering us a straightforward on the spot verbal quote for the worst case scenario. Hoping a minor repair might cure our plumbing squeeeeks, he completed the initial repair extremely fast. and voila!! Cured. He saved us from the more extensive (and expensive) repair. Friendly, fast and fixed our problem without any high dollar drama. What more can you ask for. read more

I had a faulty shower faucet that was leaking all over the place and my landlord referred me to Adept Plumbing. I called Steven, left a VM and he immediately called me back. I explained my situation and he came over first thing this morning and repaired the faucet. He also checked the water pressure and provided advice about how to check for leaks. Overall, he did a great job, plus he was friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend Adept Plumbing and will be using them moving forward for all my plumbing needs. read more

Steven and his team (father and sons) at Adept Plumbing did a great job installing a Pex system for our water supply lines. Our house sprung a slab leak and we decided to re-route the water (cold and hot) supply lines through the attic. Steven was reasonable in price, easy to work with, answered all of our questions, and even fixed a few issues we had with our kitchen faucet. Great service and great repairs. I hope we don't need you in the future, but it's nice to know you're there. read more

New Year's Day...Riding my bike down at the beach, and I decide to come home for a sweatshirt and a quick bite to eat. Walk into the bathroom to find it FILLED to the rim with dirty water! ARGH! After playing phone tag with my landlord, who happened to be in Hawaii, I finally just took it upon myself to call my own plumber. Had to find someone who would come after hours AND on a holiday! Steve, the owner of Adept Plumbing, answered the phone himself and was at my place within the hour. He worked tirelessly to fix the clog...started in the tub, but found the clog was actually in the kitchen. Soon, all the water was gone! Yea! I would highly recommend him! read more

Used them a couple of times. Honest. Professional. No job too big or small. Personal service. Highly recommend.

I didnt know where to find a plumber so just googled "plumber 92101" ...i called two other bigger corporate-type places and BOTH said they wouldnt be able to come to my place until the next day. Figures. That wasnt good enough considering I had a gaping whole where two sink pipes needed to fit together. So I called Adept Plumbing which had one positive google review. The owner answered and said that he had another appointment, but would make some calls and find someone to get to my house. Sure enough, an hour later, someone showed up at my door ready to fix my disaster. I hate whoever did the original plumbing in my building, it's bad news. I knew that already, but the plumber kept remarking at what a shit job had been done. Apparently it was not to code and plastic rather than copper had been used...yadda yadda...i dont care about the particulars, all i know is that he fixed it-perfectly. And quickly. He even went to Lowe's, bought whatever it was he needed and was back in less than 30 minutes. He was friendly too and explained to me exactly what the problem was and told me in advance what he was charging and broke down the costs. He helped me clean up under the cabinets where water had pooled and cleaned up the whole mess before leaving. I usually always try to go with services like this that have been recommended by a friend, but in this case, I didn't have the time, I was so pleased with how professional , efficient and courteous Adept Plumbing was and definitely recommend them. read more

Total lack of responsiveness. I called and told them that the water heater that they serviced wasn't working. 2 weeks later they still haven't called me back to come see it. In the meantime they called and asked me for help in measuring an outlet for another resident in my complex. I helped them out. After multiple calls, still, no response. I am so disappointed. read more

Great prompt service. My double sink started overflowing last night at 10pm!! I called the guys and someone was out within the hour. The guy stayed over two hours to get the job done and didn't leave till gone midnight. I was charged a straight overnight fee for the service - for a 10pm call on a Saturday night, it was worth every dollar. I'd definitely recommend them. read more

I am not sure who I talked to from adept plumming but they were the only ones who immediatly answered the work phone when I called. My call was not an emergency call but they did come out right away. When the plumber arrived it was the owners son and he walked in knew what the problem was a fixed it promptly. However they gave me a price of 250$. It was about 15 minutes worth of snake work. Had I known this price prior to them showing up I would have went with my HOA's plumber who charges 86$ a snake because I called them the next day for other work i needed done. My fault for not asking I guess. But all in all the service was good I just ended up PAYING FOR IT!!! read more

It has been a couple of months since I called Steve to help with a sewer back up situation. I started calling potential plumbers on a Saturday morning and he was the second one who answered, the other one's 'emergency' plumber on duty didn't return a call. They missed out on a big job. This was the third time we had, had a sewer backup in the lower bathroom on the bottom floor. Up to this point, two other plumbers had been in the house and hadn't fixed the problem. Evidently, they were under the impression that floods happened from 'above' where the water came into the house as the other guys snaked the house and not the sewer line...... the others were not too good with common plumbing knowledge. Steve came out within the hour as promised and began work. He ran a smaller snake down through the old cast iron sewer pipe and it wasn't big enough to clear everything, but he got us going. He then got a larger snake which still couldn't break thorugh so they ran a camera to see what the issue was. They found what the other 'big' guys failed to do, they found the root cause and fixed it. I've read a couple of other reviews on the costs and would share that getting a fix, in my situation was worth it. Also, he was much cheaper in an 'after hours' situation than several other 'emergency' services that have tried to fix items in my house in the past and he didn't tear things up unneccessarily as the other did which cost more money in a total cost situation. I would add that it appears to be a family business and they were ALL extremely responsive, courteous and helpful. I will call on him and his team in the future for this and the fact that they know what they are doing and solve problems completely!! read more

Steven is awesome. Once again Capt jackass thought he could fix the clogged sink! What a mess and I never knew how much that sludge stank. Steven came at my wife's request within 20 minutes. He fixed up my sink and did our tub and two toilets while he was here. This is the second and certainly not the last time we will use them. Steven is the owner and takes pride in his workmanship. He isn't out to rip people off on things they don't need. I highly recommend you use him for your next plumbing need. read more

We had a messy plumbing problem at 6:30pm on a Friday evening. I called three plumbers with good Yelp ratings. The first did not answer their phone, the 2nd wanted to charge me $295 just to show up and then another $250 (minimum) to fix my problem. Steve Walkins of Adept Plumbing was different. He arrived within 30 minutes and fixed my problem quickly without ridiculous charges. He was professional, sincere and definitely worthy of this recommendations. read more

Very expensive! We got charged $1500 for patching a hot water slab leak. Steve cut out the leaking section and replaced it with a new part. Maybe our pipe was just old. The same pipe leaked again 3 months later. Steve came the second time and recommended rerouting the entire pipeline. He quoted us $6000 for only working on the pipeline. He said it would be an additional $2000-3000 if he patched the wall/ceiling for us. I would definitely not recommend. read more

I had really hoped to be able to give a 5 star review. Adept seemed very committed to maintaining their 5 star Yelp status. At first, when we contracted Steven to do work on my rental home in early January, he was so conscientious about letting me know that my tenant hadn't responded within a couple of days of him trying to set up an appointment. He was persistent that I know that the delay was not on his part and that they prided themselves on prompt service. I reassured him that it was ok but he was almost pushy in his texts and requests that I put up a Yelp review about how prompt they are. I said that I'd be happy to post a review as soon as the work was done. He made one of the three requested fixes as soon as he could get in - a small leak under the sink. I paid promptly. The next was a faucet install a few weeks later as he had parts to order. It was slightly more expensive than I thought it should be but, as a landlord in a different state, I don't have the luxury to do too much bargaining. I paid that bill promptly as well so the subsequent issue cannot be because I am not a good paying client. While he was there the second time, he checked out our third issue, which was a toilet that wouldn't stop running in our guest bath. He told my tenant that it would be a 15 minute fix and that he just had to order a part. That was in early February. The tenant and myself have been contacting Steven and Adept since then with no resolution. Another worker came out at my tenant's insistence, said he didn't know what Steven was planning on doing, and left without doing anything. I am extremely disappointed in Adept's follow through. Now, I will have to find and pay a different plumber to evaluate an issue that I've already paid Adept to evaluate and was supposedly in the process of being resolved. read more

Go with Steve at Adept if you want fast, quality and professional service. Our house lost all pressure and we were unable to use any water in or around our house. As luck would have it, we had just planted many plants outside + had guest from out of town. We needed water and fast! I reviewed Adept plumbing's recommendations and decided to give them a call. It was Fathers Day and a Sunday. I made the call and fortunate for me Steve was a couple minutes away. Within 30 min Steve had identified the problem, fixed it and walked the house to troubleshoot each fixture. Go with Adept if you want really good, quality service. We will definitely be calling upon him if needed in the future. read more

Called them out to snake a main line and the Father and Son were there 20 minutes after I called them, they couldn't quite get it with the equipment they had so the other son came out at 530 at night and was able to get the job done quickly and efficiently. Made small talk with one of the sons as he explained what he was doing and why, which really made me feel comfortable that he was knowledgeable and honest. Great Family Owned Company!!! Steve was great! Fast fix, reasonable price, and very flexible.

I highly recommend Steve Wilkins and Adept Plumbing. Steve came out on a Sunday to unclog our sewer line. He helped figure out why the sewer line was regularly clogging and did the repair. He's thorough, honest and dependable. His prices are reasonable and he goes above and beyond in his work. He also was great at communicating the status of the repair and his availability. I didn't have a go-to plumber before, but I do now with Steve and Adept Plumbing. He'll be the first call I make for any future plumbing issues. read more

We called Adept as a first time customer this morning at 8:50am in hopes that someone could come out to take a look at our leaking kitchen sink. The man I spoke to was very friendly and said he could have someone out to our home within the hour. Shortly thereafter, the owner, Steve, arrived to our house. We were impressed that rather than suggesting a "band aid" repair, Steve suggested a new, permanent fix for a problem that we have experienced several times in the past. Steve was fast, efficient and ended up completing the job within an hour. His pricing was very fair and the best part is that he confidently stands behind his work by offering a 1-year warranty on any future leaks related to this isolated fix! Living in a high rise, we often encounter plumbers who are not confident doing work on our place and won't apply a warranty so it was refreshing to have a professional plumber such as Adept come out and take care of us quickly. read more

Adept Plumbing - New trap installed. No leaking anymore. Woohoo - Plumbing Near Me

Adept plumbing knows a lot more than Bill Howe. I flushed a cosmetics bottle down the toilet that got stuck in the neck, so the first company I called was Bill Howe because they were voted the #1 plumber in san diego. Their rep told me he wouldnt be able to remove it and said i would need to buy a whole new toilet. He didn't charge me for the initial visit, but said it would be $650 for them to provide a new toilet and change it out with the old one. I called Adept plumbing to get a second opinion and steven was pretty confident that they would just need to remove the toilet and push it out the other end. Kenny came by that afternoon and was very kind and able to remove the bottle in less than an hour. Thank you adept plumbing for saving me so much time and money!!!! Dont waste your time with anyone else. Adept plumbing knows how. read more

I last wrote how wonderful I thought Adept was 5 years ago. Steven and Adept have provided consistent quality and timely work since then. But just last week, I had a big problem with the sewer trunk line (probably the wrong terminology), the big pipe going from the house to the sewer main. Completely clogged (there is a picture of Steve holding up a long snake of roots on this Yelp site, it was just like that). Steve and his crew handled it very fast... for reference, my next door neighbor had the exact same work done on his place, but he had 3 guys digging and working for 4 days... Steve was in and out of mine in half that time. They left the area clean and all put back together... Thank you Steve and please thank your crew, they really did great. I'm super picky about home service providers. I am truly thankful for Adept. They have handled all my plumbing needs for many years, everything from very small repairs to mold remediation and some really heavy work. Adept does more than repair clogged sinks for sure! read more

I had an angle valve burst on me on the 3rd of July, that left water gushing out into my bathroom and bedroom. Steve was able to make it out within an hour and take care of business. He took care of the bad valve very quickly and was also able to take care of a few other plumbing issues that I had. He was a great communicator and also recommended a restoration company to help with the water damage. This was my only experience with Adept, but it was very positive...highly recommended. read more

We were fortunate to get Steven out for an emergency call on a busy day before the Christmas holiday weekend. We discovered a gas leak and called SDGE who came out and turned our gas off to the entire house and red tagged the meter. This meant we had to get a certified plumber out, fix the problem, go down to the city and pull a permit in order to get the inspector out to okay it before we could call SDGE back to send their technician out to turn the gas back on. Did I say this happened 2 days before we were suppose to host 20 people for Christmas dinner? Steven was great. He did everything we needed as fast as possible so we would have the gas back on. We were able to delay the real fix on the leaked line as long as the gas was turned off to that portion of the house. This required Steven to deal with SDGE and convince them that the other line to the house was in working order. Thank goodness because that was the line that supplied the kitchen, bathroom and heat for the main living area. We were able to supply a hot dinner that weekend. Steven came back twice to make the formal repairs to the leaked line which required a new line to be laid. The original line was in the foundation and had to be bypassed and rerouted. All I can say is 'Thank you Adept Plumbing for getting us through the holidays safely and warmly". read more

Called and spoke with Steve. After explaining the issues he said he would be here in 2 days, giving me a window for his arrival time. He even said he'd call if something came up. Extremely Pleased! I called Adept Plumbing after calling our regular plumber who hadn't showed up after 4 hours! I read the reviews on yelp and thought I would give him a try. Steve the owner answered when I called. I explained to him what was happening and he said he would be here in 35 min. (This is a large commercial property I was having issues with.) He was here in exactly 35 minutes!!! He immediately started working and cleared the first problem. He then went to work on the next issue which turned out to be HOURS of work. He was determined to fix the problem and he did. All I can say is THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! I believe that the service I received from ADEPT/Steven warranted a great review. These guys are great. When I called them they were quick to respond and help me with my emergency, and Steven was very professional.
