Not only could I coordinate from the East coast, but I also got quick, professional (yet personal) responses and early in the morning (California time) at that! I was pleasantly surprised that he was able to accommodate a large removal within our time requirements. Also a huge relief was their pricing which included labor. I would imagine it's hard to find another company that can beat these guys... don't chance it. We had an awkward sized/shaped object (1x 14' sailboat) that I needed removed ASAP, and they did it next day, even though I had already left for the East coast! I just gave them directions and a contact number, paid online (so easy too) and they texted me when it was done! Within 20 minutes of the pick up, and while I was still away from my phone, I received 4 text messages and then a hostile phone call demanding immediate payment from this service "professional." He then proceeded throw a hissy fit called me "a horrible person" and " that he should have known that I was a crooked person" and that I never intended to pay .. and then threatened to return my mattress after I was gone. I sent the screenshots to the better business bureau, and hope they follow up as derogatory comments are unhelpful, not to mention unacceptable when there are many others yo choose from. Very unprofessional and scary experience - I paid him as agreed within 20 minutes of the phone call and notified building management and security in case he returns. Fortunately there are security cams everywhere. I'd gladly pay twice that for a more professional person. I would definitely not use this service again because moving day is stressful enough without the harassment. read more

First of all, let me say Fred's has done many jobs for me and they always pick up on time. They even clean the area when done. I would probably use them again. Before Monday I would have given them 5 stars. They came to the door to ask me to pay them an additional $20 online becuase the junk was more than I had pre-paid. Ok, fine. Not going to argue over $20. In the meantime, we had a small crisis at the house that day around our power and SDGE was out twice in a few hours, the dogs were freaking out, you get the idea. It was a really stressful day. My husband and I were also working from home and trying to do a dilligent job amidst all this commotion. I saw on my phone Fred was texting me about once an hour hounding me about the $20. That level of agression made me feel uncomfortable. If you assess additional charges, give your customers the day to access paypal and pay you additional. read more

Amazing!! So easy to schedule a pickup for my items and I was able to pay online. No one had to be home for the pick up, which was a huge plus since me and my spouse both work during the day. As I was going through the garage, I realized I had a carpet and a futon mattress I could also get rid of. I left a message for the company after closing and asked if they could also take them with my pick up the next day. They texted me first thing in the morning and said they could take it..no problem. I was able to leave the items in my driveway in the morning and when I came home tonight my junk was gone. Wish more businesses operated like they do. I received a reminder email before pick up day and a call on the morning of pickup to let me know the crew was on their way. They arrived and loaded up the big pile of junk in record time. Fred's Junk Removal was very easy and convenient to use I found them online and was able to book a time online for them to pick to old queen size mattress sets that I was getting rid of. The appointment time was between 9-12 on a Friday morning. They called me at 9:40 saying they were on the way and by 10:00 the had came and gone. I thought the price was reasonable and you can prepay online or you can pay by cash or credit card at time of service. Or by the way the to guys were both clean, polite and professional. Hired Fred and his crew for a 1/3 load pick up. While I was cleaning out my house I realized I had so much more and contacted him and said he could do it no problem! We had a sofa / lawnmower / dining chairs and a BUNCH of trash / old clothes and cleaned out pretty much every closet full of junk in the house. I called all over for removal of a few small items that my neighbor was complaining about. Cheapest was $100 or more and I only had $50. I found Fred's and it was $50 if hauled to the curb. It was hard for me but even if I hadn't it would still have been $80. Fred's service was prompt and quick n the manager was very friendly and went to the side of the garage and grabbed all extra cardboard and Styrofoam without charging more. Fred gave me a great price for curbside pickup of a mattress, frame and headboard. I put it out the evening before the scheduled pickup.
