I've dealt with both the office section and their light industrial section (both divisions are in the same office.) Pretty much, if you're looking for minimum-esque wage job working as a laborer..The light industrial is for you. If you're looking to make barely over a minimum of $8.50-$9.00 pushing sales..Their office section is for you as well..
Having good amount of years as a clerk/office manager, I contacted Adecco asking for a temp assignment. They told me they could get me in right away, all I needed to do was complete a take-it-at-home tests online. So I took it, submitted it . The next day, the recruiter went over my scores, 100 on word, 87 percent on EXCEL, 75 WPM, and above 90 on the grammar. The lady seemed impressed enough, and instructed me that they had position which was paying $12 an hour, plus benefits plus other things. I'm excited of course, so the next step was to send in her my resume then register online with Adecco.
So I scheduled an interview with the lady, I come in 10 minutes early, she brings me around and we start talking about my resume, score, and potential assignment....Oh that is...she forgot who I was....and all the other stuff we talked over on the phone (A BAD sign already). After recollecting herself, she retrieves my resume, and after going through it once more, noticed I was a current university student and said she wasn't comfortable sending me to the 'interview' with said company, due to not having a degree, and not having at least 7 years in an office type environment (all of which was not mentioned prior to meeting her.). She then mentions, there was a sales position coming up (which was not what I was looking for), starting @ $9.00/hr, and would be available in about 6 months....(Perhaps she thought I wanted to work later and not immediately..) I finally asked, if there were ANY available clerical work, part or full time that they could usher me into right away, which she replied, NO. I knew the interview had gone sour from that moment onward, so I recommended what they had over at the light industrial section. The lady transfers me to an associate over there, and they tell me they had a position right away. It was for an "aerospace," company doing machinery work, except when I was sent out there, it wasn't an aerospace company, more like a gas tank company that produces heavy lead tanks, and I was to stand all day inspecting materials in a chemical fumed warehouse which I'm sure was not safe for any of the employees to be in. Oh and the pay was a whopping $9.00 an hour without a real chance of joining the company, as the employees there I talked to were there have BEEN THERE for more than 5 years on Adecco's payroll (all of which were from Adecco, you see where this is going?) Turning this long story short, Adecco failed to place me in a job more fit for my skills. In fact, it seemed all they really have are low entry temporary positions for customer service/sales and minimum wage warehouse type work.
Overall, there are far better staffing agencies out there that have more lucrative contracts such as JLM staffing and Exact Staff, unless you're desperate and really in need to have a filler type work, I'd advise to stay away from Adecco. The staff are somewhat friendly, but incompetent if you have an attractive resume with attractive skills. read more
