Beautiful Thai curries and a fairly kickin' tom kha kai (coconut chicken soup) mean that Mai Ake has cemented itself as a personal favourite for me, definitely topping my Hobart Thai list. Takeaway is an excellent option, but it does mean having to do a walk of shame through the middle of the restaurant to get your goods. However... if you live fairly central, you can get takeaway orders over $30 delivered for a tiny $3 surcharge. My favourite thing about take away at BGS is that they welcome phone orders, so instead of having to hang around Sandy Bay for fifteen minutes, you can just roll up, collect your order and take off. Perfect. Plus there's Gillespies Ginger Beer (my happy place) in the fridge. If you only get to have one type of burger in Hobart, make it a Burger Got Soul burger.
