Why do I love them? I dunno, their food just really rates with me. The top of the menu board features the Big Henry, a whopper of a tasty sanger with fries included--the only problem with getting this one means you can't get poutine instead, and it was the promise of actual cheese curds on their poutine that first had me chasing this truck down way back when. If you get the poutine, you may just have enough room to squeeze in a burger bun, as well. But will you have the fried chicken? (It's so good.) Or the mac & cheese patty? (It sounds like a heart attack but I want to go to there.) What I CAN tell you is if you get the poutine, a burger bun AND the mac & cheese sticks then you definitely won't fit all of them in. Look, it was ambitious, but I was also impatient and needed to try all of them. Life is a real struggle sometimes. Big Henry's update their locations on Facebook on a weekly basis, but currently they're in fairly regular spots (this makes it all the more heartbreaking when they AREN'T there one week for whatever reason, but we're all adults and we'll survive). Possibly the best place to find them is most Sundays at the Food Truck Market down at Red Square, but be warned, you'll be spoilt for choice. Don't say I didn't warn you, because I literally just did. (Get Big Henry's, though.)

The menu is on par with burger joints on the mainland in terms of price, and BGS is keen to draw attention to the freshness of their ingredients, from their salads through to their house-made buns. Eat in store or take away. My favourite thing about take away at BGS is that they welcome phone orders, so instead of having to hang around Sandy Bay for fifteen minutes, you can just roll up, collect your order and take off. Perfect. Plus there's Gillespies Ginger Beer (my happy place) in the fridge. If you're dining in (or waiting for takeaway) there's also free wi-fi for customers, which is always a winner in my books.
