Best value fish and chips in Hobart, and they're absolutely delicious…read more I'm from Melbourne and was stranded on the east side of Hobart, thought I'd roll the dice with this place and it turned out to be fantastic! The value is unbelievable, something like 4 dim sims for $2! Will definitely be returning, it's a shame they don't have more publicity. Also a pity I deleted the menu shots to show you all, but you won't be disappointed! There's dedicated parking in the form of a 'court', so don't stress about finding parking on that busy highway.

Portions very generous but unfortunately, flavors completely forget-able. In our party of three, we had sweet/sour chicken, the #1, and some tofu vegan thing, and no one left saying, "Wow, that was great chinese..." Sorry.

Their burgers are up there with the gourmet burger shops, but at Takeaway prices. I have tried three of their burgers so far and they easily outmatch any burger I have had in Tasmania. I now Feel like slapping myself for not trying it sooner I don't believe I've ever had a burger that I would make a statue of and worship as my new saviour... I'm not a fan of pickles but I even ate those like I couldn't get enough when I tried this delicacy known as the two clowns beef burger. You can guarantee I'll recommend this to everyone I know but they'll have to wait in line because I'll be first! :D

Sush is a chain of sushi restaurants (focused on take-away mostly) around Hobart, and while I've…read moreonly been to the one on Collins St, I believe all have the same offerings. I'm always happy to find a place with raw fish in their nori rolls, and I'm happy to say that both the salmon and lemon tuna rolls hit the spot. I normally prefer salmon, but Sush's lemon tuna rolls come with sliced apple in the mix as well and it makes for a surprising but really delicious combination. I'm also a fan of the tamago roll to finish up the trifecta, though there are plenty of other choices in store as well. The only thing that disappoints me about Sush is the prices, with most rolls around the $4 mark each. Makes me really miss Love Roll in Brisbane CBD, the most amazing nori rolls I've ever had at almost half of Sush's price. Ah well, all the sushi stores down here seem to hold firm on their higher prices, so as a long-time roller, I'm just gonna have to keep paying up for those delicious noms.

We went to eat dinner here last night and I have to admit the service at Annapurna was horrible…read more The wait staff forgot we were in the restaurant several times. They did not take our order for 20+ minutes and then when we had realized no one had taken our order, we caught their attention and they took our order. Then when it was time to bring our food out, they brought over part of our food and then by the time the rice came and naan came, the other food became cold. Their food in general was ok and it was nothing special. Don't waste your time going there and don't be fooled with the fact that this place is so packed / busy. Aussies just love Indian food, more than people do here in the United States, so everyone just goes there giving the illusion that it is good. Also it probably doesn't hurt that it is conveniently located in Salamanca where all the cool restaurants and bars are. I heard from lot of people that Bombay House is much better. But it is a $5-10 cab ride away and we did not get a chance to experience it.

Yummy curry dishes include rice and condiments. I recommend the vegetable pakora, three big cakes of fried veggies with a nice flavour. Both the naan and roti are delicious. I would recommend eating here or getting takeaway as the prices are slightly lower but still on par with other tourist spots nearby.
