Full disclosure: I haven't had the septic tank pumped in 10+ years so I knew there might be issues. They quoted me $495 but upon arrival I could see a possible bait & switch building up. 1st, no riser so that would cost me extra (doubling the price). By the time they lifted the cover off the tank it had become a major catastrophe -- they told me it needed all sorts of extra work lest I need to have a new drain field put in, etc. etc. So to make things right they said $2,950 (6x the quote) to complete the pumping, back pump field lines and add a rear T baffle. I probably have more $ than brains so I told them to get it done. If you plan to use them I would suggest to ask them all of the possible upcharges that may be tacked on once they are on-site.

I wanted to have my septic tank serviced as a preventative maintenance to include pumping. The…read morefirst company charged me $45 dollars and told me they would not touch anything because it was about to backup any day now. As a matter of fact, it was already showing signs of backing up. The cost to repair would be around $4K. The second company had a plan which would cost me around $2-3K which included putting a cleaner in the lines and a warranty. I was told to be sure to call back in 3 years because if anything happens, 70% of the cost would be covered/applied from the initial charge. The third company had a package deal only costing $1,200 including a new lid and other items whether I needed the parts or not, a cleaner and pumping. Now each company was going to replace the lid, pump the tank, and place a cleaner in the lines which would tell me if there were any holes anywhere. As well as, replacing the front and back inlet/outlet (the area where the water drains). Finally, Lee's Septic Life appeared in my google search. When I called, Lee answered the phone. I explained what the other had said. I actually had the third company at my home when Lee said, "You do not need a new lid, I can tell you that right now. Don't let them put any chemicals in your drain or you will have a problem. Yes, I am certain I can beat $1,200". Lee sent out two of his men the following day and they did just as he said. My tank was inspected, and I was given a recommendation of no service required. Including a pumping. I was asked to flush the toilet, and I was shown how the water flowed without any hesitation. There was no visible damage. Just as Lee said, his men would be honest and they were. I decided to pump the tank anyway and the cost was $650. I did not mind the charge because the tank had not been pumped in over 20 years. I have found a new plumber. I already discussed their next service, and I will be scheduling it soon. You will be doing yourself a disservice by not choosing Lee's Septic Life. Dealing with this team was truly a blessing!!!

Now- 8 months later they respond to my review. Seems my review was spot on... maybe they don't want to expand to be able to service more customers - that's fine - it's certainly fair for others who come to yelp for information to be able to get the whole picture.
