Driving by, I see this little sign for chocolates and I have to stop in…read more I walk in and I'm greeted by one of the chocolatiers and owners, welcoming me and explaining all that is on the shelves and more importantly what is NOT on the shelves. We'll get to that later. I find Chocolate grahm crackers, rice crispies, nutter butters, Oreo's, and of course artistic pretzels to name a few. All are hand dipped and decorated beautifully, no machine could make each so perfect. I move on and find chocolate spoons for drinks, I am intrigued by the alcohol infused craft chocolate and then... I see chocolate covered key lime pie! well and others but really? Who thinks of this? Well that is not the end. Every time I stop in, I learn more and more. They offer individualized wedding offerings and other event ideas. They really care about what a consumer may want and ask every time I arrive, what it is I might like to see made on the shelf and sometimes I may get to taste test something new! I'm not going to lie, I mention, I may just like chocolate covered gummy bears. I know not so elegant but they are surprisingly pleasant :) Ok so cost for these items are reasonable and fair. Reasonable enough that I plan to organize something original for the office this holiday season. I did hear that the personalization is expanding to that....soon... you may be able to pick your pleasure and they may just make it right there while you wait! Now this is amazing. Bottom line: Amazing craft chocolates for reasonable prices. A business that really cares what YOU think and welcomes feedback to continue to elevate their creations, how? No idea. The chocolate is decadent and delicious. I will keep coming back for my favorites but also to see what is next this innovative chocolatier is doing!

There is some playground equipment outside, and a large path leading to the store, which I suspect someone may have mistaken for a driveway before, since there was a sign clarifying that it was not, indeed, a driveway. There's a sausage outside you can pose with if you'd like, and a large Adirondack chair. If you're nearby and like sausage, Wisconsin products, or Johnsonville, it's worth a stop.

The guy who answered the phone at Beck's told me they had some in the freezer and generally do as they are not a hot item. I decided to keep this in mind for the future when I needed one. Fast forward to just a few weeks ago, I decided that I was going to make a brisket for Thanksgiving instead of turkey. I decided to stop by and pick up a frozen brisket to start thawing so it would be ready to prepare for Thanksgiving. I stopped by and they were out of the frozen. I asked about how to get a fresh one and they said they did them by order and it would be a few days to process the meat but they could have it for me the day before Thanksgiving which would be perfect as thats when I needed to start the rub and getting it ready to roast in the oven early the next morning. The brisket was absolutely beautiful. Honestly one of the best briskets I have ever seen. It was my first time doing an oven roasted one but with the way Becks trimmed and prepared it. Everything went smoothly and I came out with a perfect brisket that was a big hit. I know cooking it is all on me but Beck's was there to help out with an amazing cut of meat. I will use them for all my meat needs from now on.

I'd bring them to holiday parties and hand them out to friends until there was only one or two pounds left and then we'd make that last until the next order. The first and obvious sign is the freshness factor. The proper octave of squeak is just not present in most of your basic b curds. Biting into Laney curds sounded like a happy pup gnawing on its favorite squeak toy. The most satisfying squeak of a fresh cheese curd upon gently pressing your fangs into them.. really knows no comparison. Next is proper saltiness. This cheese is too salty for me..said no one..ever. Laney curds had just the right amount of salt to keep you coming back for more but without feeling the need to fill up on worthless water, taking up much needed stomach real estate for precious cheese curds. Lastly, the texture is key. Soft but not rubbery and firm enough to produce the squeak is the sweet spot these curds achieved. Let them warm to room temp, and the softness produces a new and novel texture, making the thought of devouring the entire pound a near maddening obsession. Now that I have properly described the quality of the best cheese known to human kind, I can comment on other aspects of the business. Their small shop surrounded by farmland with homemade products is quite appealing. We were greeted with friendly service and found the price to be very competitive in regards to the cheese curd market value. Highly recommended, would nom their cheese again.
