I hired him to do bathtub caulking. The tube exploded (for some ¨mysterious¨ reason--perhaps not piercing the film or knowing how to operate a caulking gun) and he caulked the tub WITH HIS FINGER. He insisted on being paid and vowed he would return the next day with new materials. It was only $50 so I paid him (just in case the caulking was defective and he wasn´t incompetent...wink) I assume he needed the fifity bucks more than me. Needless to say he never returned. Lesson learned. Hire at your own risk, but do NOT pay before work is COMPLETE to your satisfaction.

This job required using a scissor lift to reach the top peaks on the second story as well as removing about 20 ancient shutters and dealing with an abundance of wood rot. I live in Los Angeles, CA and have not gotten back to see the house yet, but my neighbor there Laurie K. has a very critical eye and was our final walk around expert. She spent a good while examining it in detail and said the house "looks brand new"! High praise indeed (to quote Pride & Prejudice). So I highly recommend Monty to tackle any painting needs you might have in an extremely professional manner.
